Spanthera So there's this lion prince Leonidas, and he has to protect his realm from lizard intruders by chucking his trusty spear at them. The premise might sound wacky, but this projectile puzzle game definitely deserves your attention. With its polished design and cool voice acting, strangely fitting pop culture references and epic spear-throwing action, Spanthera is certainly a pleasant surprise.

The Great Bazooki The Great Bazooki is a magician known far and wide for... balloon popping? Flash Chaz and Marsh Games put their own twist on a very Bloons-y concept as you teleport and toss cards to pop balloons, using magic hats complete with pesky rabbits and more to avoid saw blades, guillotines, and even rings of fire!

Cheeez Huntr Who even leaves cheese stacked on top of a fridge anyway? Well, as gross as that might be, it's lucky for you that they did, since you're a mouse with a hankering for a chunk and a good throwing arm. This physics projectile puzzler could use a bit of extra polish and depth, but its simple fun and few gameplay twists make it a nice casual choice for sometimes-gamers or kids to enjoy.

Nature Strikes Back While it might seem easy to write it off as an imitation of Fragger, Nature Strikes Back stands on its own merits a physics-based projectile game. Each level either introduces new elements or combines existing elements in a new way, giving it a sense of "just-one-more-level"-ness. Can you get rid of the evil polluters and turn the world green again?

Crush the Castle Adventures The beloved series about smashing things and smooshing people is back for more, and it has a whole new look. Using a variety of creative new ammunition, smash and crash your way across a multitude of levels and environments, each with their own unique challenges, and prove you're worthy of the love of the beautiful (we assume) Lady Catapult.

Hell On Duty The underworld stinks, mostly because all the demons do, and it's your job to clean them all up in this ghoulishly endearing physics puzzler. Using a special ragdoll cannon, not to mention dolls with unique abilities, fire and knock each demon into the boiling cauldron to make them squeaky clean, but with new puzzle elements piled on throughout the game, it's harder (and more fun) than you might think.

Bounzy 2 Haven't gotten your weekly dose of zombies quite yet? No horror movies laying around to give you a nice squishy feeling of gore induced terror? Look no further than Bounzy 2 to not only get carnage but to get your quota of zombie deaths done. The best part is these ones can't reach you to try and kill you. Oh, and there's chickens.

King's Game Thanks to the huge success of games like "Angry Birds" and "Crush the Castle", the physics projectile genre is one of the hottest in casual gameplay of late. Smokoko's entry, King's Game, puts a twist on the style: your targets can fire back! Obviously, it would always be your best option to decimate your opponent as quickly as possible, but in this game, it can become a necessary strategy. The AI is a fairly accurate shot, and doesn't miss that often, even on the beginning levels.

Catapult King You'd think surviving through like Siege Hero and Crush the Castle would have taught someone a lesson, but here again the daft occupants of multiple castles stand, waiting to be toppled to the ground. Catapult King from Wicked Witch Software is the latest in a long and respectable line of physics-based destruction games, this time taking the action to an up-close 3D first person mode so you get the best seat in the house to watch the destruction rain!

Nutty Mania Nutty Mania is a fun and relaxing new physics game from FlashRush Games with a silly premise and relaxing puzzles. But this cute little diversion won't be just any old walk in the park, you'll have some interesting obstacles to overcome (dinosaurs!) and some clever physics to navigate (portals!). Nutty Mania sports 42 levels to explore and even features a level editor, which will keep you entertained for many coffee breaks to come.

Archer's Oath In a land that doesn't seem to mind sending innocent people to hang it's up to you and your trusty archery skills to save lives. No, you won't be getting any fanfare or damsels tossing you their kerchiefs but who really needs that anyway? You've got justice and freedom on your side, and I'm not just saying the names you gave your biceps. In this delightful physics shooter kick back and prepare to let loose your arrows!

Bloopers 2 The little buggers from Bloopers now have a colorful sequel that drops the dark, brooding look while retaining the fun. This physics, projectile game improves on its predecessor's gameplay in all the right areas. User interface, player controls, and art style are some that come to mind. The product is a clean and casual experience that is a nice foot-in-the-door for those unfamiliar to the physics-based puzzle genre.

Pirates of the Stupid Seas This be the tale of Captain James T. Stinkbeard, and as a pirate, plundering of booty is what he does. Pirates of the Stupid Seas is a simple projectile physics game, but it's enhanced by some gorgeous visual and a decidedly surreal sense of humor. Put some shiver-repellant on yer timbers and check it out.

Greedy Pirates Yo ho ho and a treasure chest of physics puzzle levels! In this much improved revamp of Totems Awakening, you'll need to be quick with your mouse to toss a gold coin safely back to the treasure chest, with some help from your pirate chums and your friendly neighborhood bombs and teleportation devices. Teleportation devices are in ALL the best pirate movies.

Hambo 2 The city of Chi-hog-o has been under the iron snout of Pig Capone for far too long. It's up to our old friend Hambo and our new friend Bacon to use their kind words and guns to smoke out the swine lord once and for all. Fans of the original should recognize the hallmarks of this puzzle/shooter hybrid: the wide selection of weapons, the cheeky sense of humor, the clever level design, the slippery physics, the stringent ammo requirements, and the comprehensive level editor.

Blosics 3 Click and drag to launch a ball and knock blocks off a platform. It's a simple premise, but IGrek Productions has used it to steal the time of many an online gamer. Now the popular series of physics shooters is back with Blosics 3. The blocks and bullets are anthropomorphized this time around, which probably has something to do with the popularity of those enraged avians everyone is talking about these days. Still, whether or not the sprites have eyes on them make no difference when it comes to gameplay.

Leila and the Magic Ball Leila is a toddler. She doesn't know much about platforming, and even less about physics. All she knows is that she wants her bottle, and there are all sorts of 2x4s and I-beams standing between in her way. Fortunately though, she has an ally: a ball that she can call to her hand; a ball that will smash against anything in its path and which is just perfect for bouncing off from. She's got a lot of places to explore, and a lot of bottles to collect, but she would have to do it alone. Leila and the Magic Ball, new from Paul Gene Thompson, is a cute little game that will keep you playing right up until nap time.

Totems Awakening Physics puzzle Totems Awakening serves up ball passing and wacky Rube Goldberg-like contraptions with a refreshing tropical twist. With 30 levels that are easy to comprehend but difficult to master, the game will attract both veterans and dilettantes of the genre.

Siege Hero - Viking Vengeance Polished to a shine and featuring over 150 levels, the original release of Siege Hero (a spiritual companion to the browser game Sieger) for iOS devices has been an easy way to whittle the time away throwing rocks at conquering warriors. Now, browser-based fans of physics games can join in on the fun with the release of Siege Hero - Viking Vengeance, a port of the first few dozen levels from the iPhone/iPad release with one epically awesome bonus: a level editor and community-made content!

Ragdoll Cannon 4 Ragdoll Cannon 4 will have you propelling hapless stick-like ragdolls at "HERE" targets across 50 new levels. This physics-based projectile puzzles now features 3 different ragdoll types, including explosive and sticky ragdolls. Clever level design and a stylized approach makes this one a worthy addition to the Ragdoll Cannon series.

Bloopers Bloopers is a short physics game of destruction similar to Crush the Castle, Angry Birds, and countless other browser-based diversions of a similar type. Here, you play the role of little black blobs who own a really great cannon. One day, one of the blobs sees a lightbulb. He goes insane with rage, immediately smashing the bulb's delicate glass exterior. Only when the light has been extinguished is the blob happy, and thus they set out across the land, using physics to destroy lightbulbs that plague their very existence!

Spite Cannon Reloaded Spite Cannon Reloaded is a truly casual game where you shoot cannonballs at various shapes with eyes and mouths. Play through 80 levels, complete with upgrades and a level editor. Can you unlock the lemur cannonballs and beat the game?

Siege Hero Happy peasants harvesting grass. Peaceful people admiring the clouds. Then the bad guys come along and start sieging and such. You don't need much of a story when it comes to physics-based chain reaction games, but in the case of Siege Hero, from the creator of Sieger, you definitely need to know you're the one fighting on the side of good! This highly-polished iOS game features gameplay similar to Castle Crashers, Angry Birds, and even Implode!, although the sum of its well-made parts adds up to something much more intriguing.

Sieger Level Pack The Sieger Level Pack is an extension of the popular projectile physics castle destruction game, Sieger. It features 40 new levels with extra building material types and deadly projectiles. Levels now include slippery ice blocks, rolling boulders, and explosive boxes and barrels for maximum chain reaction devastation, as well as connecting blocks and moving contraptions. There's also an enhanced level editor to make and share your castles with the Sieger community.

Crazy Over Goo Crazy Over Goo is a physics-based projectile platformer that puts you in the gooey guise of a spheroid on a quest to find his pink-bowed friend. Use the mouse to aim your trajectory and try to reach each level's flag in as few jumps as possible. Contend with mid-air leaps, variable environments, gravity, spikes, and many other platform game elements.

Big Evil Robots In Big Evil Robots, you control a pint-sized protagonist armed with a slingshot and marbles, tasked with saving the city from a series of mechanical menaces. Aim your shots with the mouse and shoot marbles inside each robot to reach its glass-like core. Earn points and stars by collecting coins and firing as few marbles as possible.

Hambo Hambo is a physics-based projectile shooter puzzle where you control a bandana-wearing pig with a mission - to rescue his friend Bacon from the enemy! Use your mouse to aim your grenades, guns, C4, knives, and explosive-tipped arrows to dispatch the bad guys across 36 tricky levels. You can also create your own levels in the editor or play user-created levels for more variety.

Gravitee Wars If you've always wanted to go into space but golf wasn't your cup of tea (HA!), then try out this new spin on FunkyPear's physics series! Utilize the gravitational pull of planets to help you take out the opposing team in this turn-based game of space warfare. Unlock new weapons, earn achievements, upgrade your troops, and try to do it all under par.

Blosics 2 Level Pack Blosics 2 Level Pack is a new series of levels and a custom editor for the physics puzzler, Blosics 2. Shoot different-sized balls at various structures made of blocks, causing them to fall down. You have to deal with blocks on and around various stone, rubber and ice surfaces that effect trajectories, as well as exploding blocks and floating balloon blocks.

Fragger Lost City Fragger Lost City is the latest chapter in the Fragger series, taking place in a post-apocylptical world. The game features a new set of 30 grenade-tossing levels with different backgrounds, layouts, and puzzles. Use your mouse to aim your soldier-guy's grenade throws in order to destroy all the enemies on the screen.

Sieger Ah, destruction. Who doesn't love it and the multitudes of games devoted to it. But, you know what they say about too much of a good thing and moderation. My point is that sometimes you need to destroy with a little restraint. That's the take-away lesson in Warspark's latest, the demolition physics puzzler, Sieger.

Fragger Bonus Blast Experience the thrill of throwing explosive devices at unarmed and completely stationary bad guys with googly eyes all over again, in this level pack addition to the popular physics projectile puzzle. Only you won't get to experience said thrill for very long, since this pack comprises a lonely ten levels, but you'll experience it nonetheless.

Crush the Castle 2 Not satisfied with the kingdom he conquered in the previous game, at this point the king has become a smash-aholic, invading another kingdom just because he's heard they've got great castles, and recruiting the best castle smashing talent that the stolen riches of his people can provide. A situation that can only end when one man stands up for the downtrodden, for the weak, for the defenseless... for FREEDOM.

Ragdoll Cannon 3 Those crummy little ragdolls, always getting in the way, doing those things they always do, making us angry enough to fire them out of cannons. Really, you'd think they'd learn their lesson after three games. Ragdoll Cannon 3, Johnny_K's latest entry in the Ragdoll Cannon series, features more cannons and more of the floppy dolls that you'll use to solve dozens of physics-based puzzles.

Crush the Castle: Players Pack Indulge your inner siege engine in Crush the Castle: Players Pack, a sequel comprised of devious maps made by fans to test your destructive physics skills and push your ability to smoosh tiny kings to its limit. While it doesn't bring much else new to the table, the Players Pack is a great showcase of some genuinely clever community talent from people just like you. Although we're sure you have much better hair.

Max Damage Everyone has heard the phrase "Like a kid in a candy store". But how about "Like a kid in a warehouse full of expensive, fragile items. With a cannon. And physics." Less whimsical and more terrifying, isn't it? Max Damage wants you to cause the maximum damage to carefully arranged items across 49 levels using various types of ammunition to rack up a big score. It's a game for the sandbox bully in all of us, with none of the mess to clean up afterwards.

Fragger Grenades and baddies and physics, oh my! Adjust your angle to lob grenades from a limited supply at waiting targets to get the best scores and achievements you can across thirty levels and three difficulty settings. Why do they look so happy about getting blown up? Who knows! Just remember; pull the pin, then throw it. It's okay. We get that messed up all the time, too. You should see our offices.

Dinowaurs Dinowaurs from Intuition Games shows us that stone-aged humans were well-versed in the art of strapping large implements onto the backs of dinosaurs for their own advancement. At its core, this is a projectile game in the vein of Worms or Scorched Earth. The goal is not only to destroy your opponent's dinosaur, but also to take over their villages. The art style is fun and care-free, the music is catchy, and the weapons are weird. If you're looking for an escape from the ordinary projectile game, and a chance to interact with actual human beings, give Dinowaurs a go.

Gravity Pods 2 Actionscript guru Keith Peters has released a sequel to Gravity Pods, his unforgiving physics puzzle challenge from last year. Place gravity pods to direct a projectile from your turret to a purple exit gate. The level design is stunningly difficult, but that kind of adversity can be rewarding.

Ragdoll Cannon 2 Ragdoll Cannon 2 is, rather logically, the sequel to Ragdoll Cannon (as teased by the release of Ragdoll Cannon 1.5). That's some no-nonsense naming, there. What designer Johnny_K might lack in titling, however, he more than compensates for in gameplay.

Ragdoll Cannon Cannons have a unique place in human history. Throughout the ages, they have served as an offensive weapon to knock down fortifications, an accentuation in pieces of classical music, and a rudimentary yet entertaining transport for clowns. Continuing in this rich tradition, let's launch stickmen at bricks to dignified tunes!

Even More Bloons Do you like cake? Do you like double-decker cake? We are about to lay on you a triple-decker cake, with helium! Trigger Ball Trigger Ball is an attractive puzzle game of magnetism and attractors. Complete a level by bumping each black orb with a smaller black ball, which is launched with a click of the mouse. You only get one shot, so use it wisely! With just 41 levels, Trigger Ball isn't likely to keep anyone playing long into the wee hours. But I bet you'll wish it did.

Save the Planet Save The Planet is a simple shooter in which you aim with your mouse, and fire by holding the left mouse button and releasing after charging the shot. Use the gravity of the titular planet, as well as that of the attacking aliens and even your own prior shots, to defeat the endless waves of attackers. Keep in mind that you're more likely than not to cause your own destruction by shooting the planet you're trying to defend. Oops.

CGDC4: Heavy Metal Goreblood Extreme of Death 800X The next entry up is from Martin Jonasson of Sweden. And while this is Martin's first competition with us, you may have seen some of his games before here on JIG. Goreblood, for short, is a projectile shooting game in a classic 'defend your castle' setting, except it's a brain you are defending from a horde of zombie nuns.

Gravity Pods Gravity Pods is a physics-based vector shooting/puzzle title created by Wicked Pissah Games. The goal is to fire a projectile and hit a target across the screen. Barriers are usually in the way, but by using gravity pods you can bend the path your projectile takes to send it virtually anywhere on the screen.

Artillery Live! The gameplay mechanic of lobbing bombs at your enemies is nothing new, and Artillery Live! returns the genre to its simple roots. You have a tank on a mountainous battlefield, and using a combination of angle and power must lob shells at your opponent. Unlike Worms but exactly like ZWoK, everyone (up to four players) sets up their shot simultaneously and secretly, and the tanks all fire at the exact same time.

Cannon Bods Cannon Bods is a slick little action game where you must shoot falling pirates before they hit the water. The controls are easy and intuitive, and a nice touch is that as you hold down the mouse button for more power the trajectory line changes its shape to match your cannon's increased power, giving you an accurate look at exactly where your "ammo" will go.

SPAMalot Yes, it's an advergame for SPAM: the stinky French garlic flavor kind. But much, much more than that, SPAMalot is a Flash defend-your-castle Flash game with an absolutely severe Monty Python element thrown up into the mix for good humor, good times.

Castle Smasher Castle Smasher is a simple but amazingly entertaining game where your goal is to destroy a castle using nothing more than a catapult. Fling stones at the opposing structure to whittle it down to nothing as efficiently as you can. Upgrade your shots between levels and be as frugal as you can with your firepower. Once you run out, it's game over.
