Max Damage, the new game of physics puzzle destruction from irRegular Games, is familiar territory for anyone who has ever worked in a toy store. You may have seen our like cleaning up after a gleefully rampaging toddler, wondering grimly where the parents are and what that crashing sound over in aisle three was. At least in those cases, the casualties are limited to trampled Pikachu and previously immaculate displays of movie tie-in action figures that you spent two hours arranging just so. Here the destruction is a bit more ambitious. Like, plasma television ambitious. With a cannon. Yeah, kids aren't as cute when they come armed, are they?
The object of the game is to cause enough damage to pass each of the 49 levels, represented by the value of the items you're destroying. Don't feel too bad about it, because, honestly? If you're going to arrange all your valuables in precarious stacks atop shelves, you don't get to be surprised when some kid comes along and starts wreaking havoc. You're just asking for it then. Use the mouse to aim your cannon, and click to fire. Hold the cursor close to the cannon for weaker shots, and farther away for more powerful blasts. As the game progresses, you'll wind up using different types of ammunition. Just choose your shots wisely, since you only have a certain amount per level.
If Max Damage seems familiar, it's probably because it has its roots in games like Bloons, Ragdoll Cannon, and even Fragger. It's not the most original duck in the pond, but it is surprisingly fun. The items in each stage are cleverly positioned so you have to think about where you place each shot instead of firing blind. There's no penalty for restarting a level, which is good because chances are you'll be doing so a lot; it's difficult to calculate how much damage your shots are going to do, and you often just have to cross your fingers and hope everything is going to fall the way you want it to.
While we here at Jay is Games don't condone massive destruction of property and advise you to get your parents' permission before purchasing any sort of cannon, Max Damage is still good fun for anyone who enjoyed setting up elaborate Lego cities as a child, and then pretending to be Godzilla as you rampaged through them. Go ahead. Indulge your inner tantrum-tosser.

Max Damage walkthrough!
(Part 1 through level 21.)
Level 1:
Easy peasy. Just hit the top fridge in the middle and watch ‘em fall.
Level 2:
Focus on the TVs. They're worth more.
Level 3:
Knock down the boxes and hit the painting.
Level 4:
Hit the box ever so lightly. Hit should hit the TV.
Level 5:
Don't worry about the plasma in the corner. Just rapid-fire at the sides of the plasmas closest to you.
Level 6:
This one is a little trickier. I suggest aiming between the swing chair and the table (they are in the background). Aim well and fire.
Level 7:
Focus on hitting the 2 TVs on the left. Don't worry about the one on top.
Level 8:
Knock down the top 2 sets of microwaves, then start aiming for the fridges. You'll have enough in no time.
Level 9:
You need to knock down ALL the boxes in the 1st shot. Try aiming at the middle of the boxes. Then, aim and hit the painting.
Level 10:
Once again, hit the middle of the first fridge, sit back, and watch it do its thing.
Level 11:
Put your mouse over the end of the right horn (on top) that belongs to the far left dragon (in the background). You should hit the side of the top plasma, which will cause the painting to fall. The whole right side of the pyramid should fall as well. If not, aim a little more to the right. Then, just try to gain the rest of the money. (My best results were from aiming my second shot at the side of the right plasma that was still in the pyramid.
Level 12:
Aim perfectly straight at the middle of the boxes. Should get you past this one.
Level 13:
This is more of a free for all. Don't worry about the painting, just focus on the fridges and microwaves. The closer the ball is to the object when it explodes, the better.
Level 14:
Hit boxes with the first 3 shots, Microwaves with the next 3, and pictures with the exploding shots.
Level 15:
Try to create as many chain reactions as possible. Missing a single shot means that you may have to restart. Aim carefully, and use that "r" key!
Level 16:
A simple one here. Aim for the plasma, and knock it down. Or is it up? Hard to tell since it's upside down!
Level 17:
Softly hit the box, so it hits the picture, then beat the hell out of the microwave!
Level 18:
Hit the fridge, then the boxes. You don't have to hit the far boxes.
Level 19:
Do what the title says and get to the TVs! You CAN shoot over the later boxes, if need be.
Level 20:
Aim for the top boxes. If you hit both, it will take care of itself.
Level 21:
Hit the top boxes first; you don't need to knock them down. Get the explosion-balls in the gap for the top TV, then explode! Make sure the TV lands on the bottom. Then, hit the bottom boxes with the 3-shot. Finally, get the explosion balls next to the bottom TV, and blow it up.

Here is the rest of the walkthrough. Levels 22-49. (I finished!)
Level 22
This is a another tricky one. I have yet to find a way to hit the microwave. The easiest way to do this one is to hit each of the boxes, FULLY destroying them. It may take a while to get it right. You don't need to change angle and power too much to get into the first 3 holes.
Level 23
You have to get the explosion-ball as close to the microwaves and paintings as you can on this on. It's not too hard to reach the goal, though, so don't worry to much. Best results come from hitting the ball on the roof and having it land on top, making it roll over the edge. This gets the ball really close for detonation. The ball won't roll very far, though, so it will need to land close to the edge.
Level 24
The Level of Death! This is probably THE hardest level there is. It's a Pixel Hunt!!! You have to find JUST the right pixels for this shot to work. Try a little above the indent in the bush (background). It should work, but it may take several tries. (Don't even think about the painting, it will get you nowhere).
Level 25
I can't help you too much here. This level is more of a random shooting level. Just try to get some "domino" effects going, and move on.
Level 26
Knock out the first boxes and the TVs first. Use you last shot to hit towards the top of the last stack of boxes, so that a box (or the ball) eventually lands on the painting. The painting NEEDS to be destroyed for you to easily pass this level.
Level 27
Here's a fun one! Zero G's! The TVs will float around when you hit them. Hit the front stacks QUICKLY and hit the lower left stack while it's still together. The key is to hit as many TVs with BALLS as possible. May take a few tries.
Level 28
Hit the box (at full power) with the flame ball, then hit it AGAIN with the bouncy ball. Make sure the paintings go up in flames. Use the explosion-ball to knock out some microwaves at the end.
Level 29
Knock down the fridge first. I then suggest hitting the box on top of the plasma (which is a tricky shot, so be patient). If the plasma doesn't fall, hit the right edge of it with the last ball. If the plasma DOES falls on the second ball, then just hit whatever you like, so long as you have enough money to move on.
Level 30
You will need to use both bouncy-balls to get rid of the boxes. Then fire the explosion-ball in there. You don't HAVE to hit the painting. Make sure the explosion-ball lands on or next to an appliance, though.
Level 31
Find out what aim is necessary to get the balls next to the fridge. Then restart (hit the "r" key) and fire ALL the balls in there. The fridge should topple onto the TV.
Level 32
You have to have careful aiming on this level. Hit the top microwaves on the side and knock them down. You will need to knock over BOTH of them. It usually takes to shots to do each one, so you don't have much room for error. Just keep trying, and you'll get there eventually.
Level 33
First, find an angle that will get the balls to come down above the picture (I aimed on the 2nd cloud from the left; top-left "inward point" of the cloud). Memorize that point. Restart and rapid-fire 3 balls at the 3 boxes on top of the picture. It may take a few tries to get the boxes to come off. Then, aim at that memorized point, making the last 2 balls fall down on the picture. This SHOULD give you enough money.
Level 34
Another tricky one. You have to make sure that the ball goes slow enough to hit the picture. There are multiple ways to do this, and it will probably take many restarts. I suggest lightly firing the ball straight into the hole and down to the picture. The exact aiming will have to be determined by you.
Level 35
You will have to shoot OVER the spaces for the microwaves, to get the explosion-balls close enough to do damage. This one shouldn't be too hard.
Level 36
Another hard one. You will need to get the boxes to fall flat, and you will need to knock over AT LEAST one TV. Then, hit the top painting ONLY to get it down the hole. If possible, do the same for the second picture, and if not, get a ball down the hole so that it hit's that first painting. Will most likely take several tries to do it. (Took my 12 times the second time around, and I just BARELY got it. So don't be disappointed if you don't.)
Level 37
Hit the left wall first so the fridge falls on the microwaves. May take a few tries. (Thanks to tobyjs for this one!)
Level 38
Limited gravity in this level. Just aim carefully and hit TVs. Nothing to it! (Just don't worry about the two right above you).
Level 39
You need to try to get the box to burn with the first shot. I suggest aiming at the stair-stepped wall above it, so the fire-ball comes down on top of the box. Then, Hit the microwave at full power. The box should hit the painting, causing IT to burn as well.
Level 40
Use the first shot to hit the top box. Make sure that the TV next to it falls over on the LEFT side of the picture. If it doesn't, start over. Then use the bouncy-ball to knock the box over so it hits the fridge, making it fall to the ground. From here I suggest just trying to destroy the fridge. The painting is hard to get at, and hard to damage. Experiment a little, if you have to.
Level 41
Try to hit the large stacks of boxes first. Then just hit as many boxes (causing as many chain reactions) as possible.
Level 42
All you have to do is crush a lot of boxes. Make sure to hit both sides.
Level 43
Hit the "box leg" of the top pyramid. You will most likely have to hit it twice. Just make sure it falls onto the stack below.
Level 44
Try to knock over 3 boxes in 1 shot. Then, find the right angle so that the explosion-ball gets close to, or on, the TV. Then, EXPLODE! The last ball will just add a little more damage.
Level 45
Hit the first 2 boxes at full power. The reduce power to about 2/3, hit the last boxes, and hopefully hit the TV twice.
Level 46
I suggest hitting the middle painting on the left first; it will fall down, igniting boxes. Then hit the other paintings!
Level 47
A tricky one. I suggest getting the first bouncy-ball, as well as the explosion-ball, in the top hole. Then, at full-speed, launch the last ball into the bottom hole. If you aim right, it will bounce back and forth, causing enough damage to move on. Just be patient.
Level 48
Aim mainly for the sides. Get the explosion-ball in-between a bunch of TVs and blow it up. A few tries, and you should get it right.
Level 49
Final Level! Here is what I did: First, I hit the top-left fridge. Then I used the 3-shot to hit the plasma in the middle, the painting on the bottom right, and the fridge at the top-right. The fridge and painting fell to the floor. It takes careful aiming to get this shot. I then hit the middle plasma again, knocking it over onto the second fridge. I ignited the top painting with the fire shot. Finally, I used the exploding-ball to blow up the plasma and fridge.
I am sure there are other ways to win this one. So if you can't do it like I did, try something else!
Once you are done, congratulations! You have won Max Damage!
Again, credit goes to tobyjs for level 37.
Great game! I only wish there were more levels, as well as a level editor. Flaming Art Gallery, anyone? XD
