JayBound BearGame-Pure continues to amaze us with the rate at which they can release new games. Bound Bear is a simple action projectile game that combines elements from Breakout and Bloons to create something wholly unique and enjoyable to play.

The objective is to reunite baby bear with mama bear, and to do so you'll have to avoid the black bears that can block your path.

Use the mouse for control, just aim and press the mouse button to select the power of your shot. Release to fire. Baby bear will bound around the play field, bouncing off black bears and removing white squares, until it comes to rest. Your aim, power, and timing all become important as you negotiate the always changing field of play.

In later levels you will have to break down walls of white squares to get at mama bear, which can whittle away the number of shots you have remaining. To help you gain more, you will see square white bears amongst the black bears appearing at random. Hit those to add one to your remaining shots.

It's a very simple and very cute game that is well made and just right for a round (or two or three or four) of casual gameplay.

Hello Jay
This game's okay
I like the bears
that are up there

I found it annoying how you cant really move the bear far unless you fully charged the bar to the max. Or when I'd be like an inch away from the mama bear with like 20 bounces and not make it. But I managed to beat "Easy" mode with 27,400 points (which probably is mediocre compared to most others).

Cute overall, but I didn't like it that you went back to 'square one' at the end of each failed bounce, instead of staying where you landed.

My first try at Easy mode got me 20,700 points. I soon figured out that the only thing that matters for your score is how many times you bounce off either the black bears or the white blocks (but not the ground)--you get 100 points times the number of bounces times the current level. Nothing else counts toward your score. Thus, in the end, how high a score you get really comes down to luck.

A lucky 16-bounce score on level 8 helped me get a 42,200 on Easy.

Hard just bugs me with the reappearing blocks.

thanks for explaining the scoring, suho... i was a bit confused my first time playing when my score jumped from 300 to 3300 in a split second. XD

not sure how i would grade this one... undeniably, the game was cute, but the gameplay was more frustrating than enjoyable. it took a while to get a hang of the controls, and even when i "got it down", it still seemed to be hard to get the bear to fly where i wanted. is it just me, or did the bear fly way below the predicted parabolic path, even when at full power?

the other thing that i found annoying was that the bear always went back to the starting point, which made the game much more tedious. i really wouldn't have minded it if the bear stayed where it landed, and you played from there (like golf), but having to start over made it more of a game of just waiting for the right window of opportunity, umpteen times over. i often held down the mouse button for over a minute waiting for "the perfect moment" to fire. while i kept telling myself, "this is a part of the challenge!", i really didn't believe it. it just got tedious.

...but the bears were soooooooo cuuute!
