Totally Tiny Arcade Show a video virus who's king of the button-mashers in Totally Tiny Arcade, by Joe Lesko's Flea Circus Games. A fun rapid-fire remix of retro gaming re-creations, parodies, facsimiles and new concepts, Totally Tiny Arcade may be too fast-paced for some, but it's a smart work that makes the most of its premise.

Vortex Point 2: Nensha Something weird is happening with photos in Vortex Point, and the masked man who shows up in them is the least of the town's concerns when the people in them start going missing. Though short and somewhat unintuitive, this point-and-click adventure from Carmel Games has a clever premise and a few freaky ideas that make it a fun break-sized game.

Layton Brothers: Mystery Room Layton Brothers: Mystery Room is a crime solving mystery game from Level-5, the team behind the well-known Professor Layton series on Nintendo DS. While this incarnation may only bear passing ties to the prof's previous adventures, it's still a solid adventure game that will remind you of Phoenix Wright in some ways. Which is a good thing!

King's Ascent King's Ascent is a vertical-scrolling action platform game that shows life on the throne is always uncertain, especially when giant skeleton beasts are chasing you up the tower. Gameplay is generally familiar, but the plotting has a deconstructive edge that should separate it from the pack.

King of Bees in Fantasy Land King of Bees in Fantasy Land, a Twine adventure game by Brendan Patrick Hennesy, hails to an earlier time of gaming plotting; one where "all your base are belong to us". Thought there's not much action to speak of, this little choose-your-own-adventure tale of a Space Knight taking on the Evil King of Bees in the year 2888 is a quick, smart, piece of video game comedy.

Rocket Pets Rocket Pets isn't quite a launch game. And it isn't quite a platformer. Somehow, Jay Armstrong and Jimp have combined the two genres, added some cute fuzzy animals wearing jetpacks, and thrown in some spikes for good measure, and the result is a ridiculously cute game where you go around collecting coins, buying upgrades, and earning achievements.

House of 1000 Doors: Serpent Flame Things are getting serious. Kate is once again dropped into the House of 1000 Doors, only this time she'll have to save the entire Earth. Nagas, those grumpy hissing meanies, have sent a bunch of huge snakes to destroy the world as we know it. Kate has to assemble five elements to power the only weapon that can defeat them, and to do so she must – you guessed it – go through a bunch of doors.

Very Retrouvaille Faraday Ram has lost her pet rabbit, and she's headed to the woods to go look for him. But nobody's allowed in without permission from the mayor, and to get permission from the mayor, she has to wake her up, and to wake her up, she has to... well, it's already easy to take a guess at what sort of day our heroine is going to have. Very Retrouvaille, a free adventure game made by PR1NCE, is a cute little journey through a cute little town full of cute little characters... but with some surprises up its sleeve.

Forever Lost: Episode 2 "Do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain." Creepy music? Concrete walls? Perspicacious quotes? Yes, your adventures in the asylum are nowhere near over in Glitch Games' latest adventure, Forever Lost: Episode 2. Last year's breakout point-and-click escape hit is back to continue the story, featuring more twists, chills, and lots of classic adventuring fun.

Super School Day Super School Day is a quick-fire collection of mini-games from Second Impact Games. It shares a lot with titles like Wario Ware and the classic 4 Second series, though this game is out to make a mockery of them at every turn. Each round drops handfuls of extremely fast micro-games in your face, challenging you to complete them as best you can before you're whisked off to the next one. You will feel lost, you won't know what's going on, you will yell and you will fail. But you'll be laughing the whole time because hey, there's a sea urchin school uniform!

I Hate Candy How could anyone possibly hate candy? Well, if you're the snarky alien hero sent to a candy planet to rescue scientists from cuddly, cheerful toys who want nothing better than to pelt you with the stuff, it's probably pretty easy. A beautiful, silly platforming shooter with a ton of levels.

Bob the Robber 2 Bob the charitable robber is back! Once again you can steal to your heart's content, and you don't even have to feel guilty about it. Help Bob stay out of sight of guards, watchdogs and security cameras, and empty every drawer and pocket you can find. It's all for a good cause, so do your best!

Wyv and Keep Wyv and Keep: The Temple of the Lost Idol is finally here! After almost three years in the oven, A Jolly Corpse has released its fully-baked (and delicious) puzzle platform game to the masses. It's got excitement. It's got adventure. It's got treasure. It's got multiplayer co-op. And it's got enough challenge to keep you scratching your head for a very long time.

Minecraft - Pocket Edition Want to take Mojang's wildly popular sandbox building simulation with you wherever you go? As long as you have an iOS or Android device you can! Though lacking a lot of the content from its desktop edition and multiplayer capability, Pocket Edition is a great way to get your diggy-diggy-hole on whenever you want, or just get your feet wet if you want to find out what all the fuss is about.

Darktopia Escape from a cursed alien tomb, find your crewmate and — if you're particularly fortunate — come out of it all with the brand new, uh, old fabulous Idol of Tavor as your lovely planetary parting gift. Metroidvania-style action and adventure await you in this sci-fi platformer.

Bridgy Jones Bridgy Jones, which we promise has absolutely nothing to do with Helen Fielding or Renée Zellweger, is a physics puzzle/building game from Grow App. It's pretty much free from all that romance and stuff, but it's still tells a bit of a love story in its own way. The love between a dog and a chicken, a man and delicious fried eggs, and you and your ability to make bridges out of thin air, that is.

A Dark Room A Dark Room will run quietly by itself in a tab in your browser with only minimal interaction at first. There's just you, the dark, dwindling wood, and a fire to stoke. But what might that light attract? What could you build if you dared venture the cold quiet outdoors? With gameplay that will remind you of Candy Box! but a decidedly creepier, more intriguing bent to go with simulation and adventure, A Dark Room is well worth checking out.

BackDoor Door 1: The Call What seems like a dream turns out to be reality... a very weird one. You wake up on the floor of a locked room with a voice over the telephone taunting you to find your way downstairs, but once you do, you'll find out your problems are just beginning in this short but appealingly oddball puzzle adventure game with a retro style.

The Night of the Rabbit Daedelic Entertainment's point-and-click adventure game The Night of the Rabbit is the equivalent of your childhood picturebooks: visually and aurally lush, with a cast of charming animal characters and a human boy as the plucky protagonist. It's an engaging companion for an evening's play but unfortunately it can also be a little too long-winded for its own good.

Ghost Party Have you heard? There's a fancy evening dinner party at a stately mansion, and you're invited! But you know, these things would be a lot more fun if we could throw one that didn't involve the wealthier guests falling over dead partway through. Get ready to party the night away with cute talking bats, chic clairvoyant goth girls and giant malfunctioning robots in tpjh2d's premiere afterlife adventure mystery, Ghost Party!

7 Grand Steps 7 Grand Steps is a new story-driven game from Mousechief, creator of the multi-award-winning Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble. It's a tale of growing and evolving, progress and struggles, families and histories, all told through the lens of a token-operated machine. In practice, 7 Grand Steps is very much like a board game fused with interactive narrative elements. And like any game of substance, just talking about its parts doesn't do justice to the whole. This game will reach out and grab you on a whole different level. It has this uncanny ability to make you feel for the characters, which is surprising seeing as how you're just dropping tokens into slots.

Karateka Classic Were you alive and mostly aware of your surroundings in 1984? Good, this article is for you! Karateka Classic is a mobile re-release of the original combat game created by Prince of Persia guru Jordan Mechner. Akuma has kidnapped the princess and you're going to fight your way through every one of his minions until you get her back. Bam! The music, the floppy drive loading sounds, the scan lines... it's all there. With some more modern features to accommodate touch screen controls, of course. But apart from that, it's all retro.

Dark Dimensions: City of Ash Once again seek out Dark Dimensions, this time a small town destroyed by a volcano (and a father-daughter relationship gone terribly awry), and attempt to heal them in Dark Dimensions: City of Ash. Easy on the eyes and challenging for the brain, this is definitely something to look for in the hybrid adventure genre.

Save the Date! It was just supposed to be a simple dinner date with your friend Felicia. How did things go so horribly, horribly wrong? In this free, morbidly hilarious visual novel, all you're trying to do is have a night out with your best friend (and maybe more?) but it feels like the universe is against you. All you can do is try, try again... and experience the clever twists and mechanics this little gem has to offer.

Cafe Murder Here's a fantastic idea for a restaurant: have a competent waitress who does her job well, then hire a cook that periodically flips out and tries to kill the customers. That's the general idea behind Cafe Murder, a mobile time management game from Beaver Toad Software that emphasizes character and personality over speed. It's not a game about seeing how fast you can serve sandwiches, it's a game about keeping your shop tidy and pleasing the customers. And boy do customers love it when they're not murdered!

The Yawhg The Yawhg is coming... but nobody knows it yet, and in the six weeks leading up to its arrival to your cheerfully oblivious town, you'll guide up to four people in their daily lives. Created for the Ludum Dare "minimalist" theme, this simple game that tasks you with finding your way out before something finds you. Though slow and repetitive, the formidable atmosphere of tension the game creates with sound and simple lines alone is truly remarkable.

Infiltrating the Airship The government has finally took notice of your stickman crimes However, they're willing to cut a deal: the Toppat Clan of international thieves has been a much larger problem that you for quite a long time. The fourth in the series of Puffball United's popular series humorous adventures, Infiltrating the Airship keeps Puffball United's trademark brand of random humor coming and the awesomeness occurring.

Love Chronicles: Salvation Having defeated the evil witch Alura in the previous game, our brave prince sails home. Upon arriving, he realises that the witch has taken revenge on his kingdom. With the help of a powerful wizard, the prince travels back in time to try to stop the witch from ever becoming evil. Join him in Love Chronicles: Salvation, and experience an enchanting and more than usually whimsical hidden-object adventure.

Dark Parables: The Final Cinderella It used to be, a girl would dream of her first ball, dancing with princes and wearing a beautiful gown, a gift from her fairy godmother. Looking to bring those two worlds together, Paladin Studios, the team behind Momonga Pinball Adventures, has released Nikko RC Racer, a wild and untamed arcade racing game that's about as close to driving the real thing as you can get.

Once there, she finds out that the gates guarding peace on Earth are all but wide open because some cheeky prankster has stolen four runes which keep the gates shut. Vanessa must track them down by jumping into portals leading to other worlds, all the while trying to discover the evil mind behind this nefarious scheme.

They Need to Be Fed 2 From Jesse Venbrux, whose name you might recognize from games like the Karoshi series or Focus, They Need to Be Fed 2 is a mobile sequel to a freeware downloadable game that's all about feeding helpless critters to chomping piranha plants. Neat, right? Don't worry, it's not all sad and evil. In fact, it's quite a cheerful mix of puzzle and platforming elements that works really well on touch screen devices.

Eyes - The Horror Game It sounded like a simple heist... get into the old abandoned house, steal anything of value, and get out. But you're not alone in the dark, and something is very unhappy you've intruded. Explore an eerie house full of randomly generated treasure, grab what you need, and get out before you're caught, making use of ghostly eyes to see through the sight of the thing hunting you.

Empress of the Deep 3: Legacy of the Phoenix A century ago, Anna, the Empress of the Deep, awoke from her slumber far below the ocean waves to discover she had a powerful and evil twin, Pandora. Along the way, you'll explore and discover a gorgeous, Myst-like world, encounter a refreshing variation of hidden object scenes and gentle puzzles for a relaxing and serene adventure.

Clowns in the Face Which sounds worse: tennis or clowns? Ha, trick question! They're both equally creepy in their own way! 10tons totally gets that, which is why the team that brought us the physics puzzle game Tennis in the Face has released the follow-up Clowns in the Face. Now, instead of just smacking things in the face with tennis balls, you're smacking clowns in the face with tennis balls. Neat!

But though Monster seems gentle and lovable enough to his tiny companion, a dangerous addiction turns him into a mindless, rampaging threat to everything around him, and only Quico can save him... or so he hopes. A painfully beautiful indie platforming adventure with heart.

Galaxy Siege Pilot your shuttle, conquer the galaxy, gather resources and upgrade all the things in Vasiliy Kostin's Galaxy Siege! If you enjoy planned upgrading, growing a system piece by piece to achieve today what you couldn't before, Galaxy Siege will most likely appeal to you.

Small Town Terrors: Pilgrim's Hook Vera and Arthur are twins who both grew up in and eventually left the small, secluded town of Pilgrim's Hook. But while Vera was glad to leave it behind, Arthur couldn't help but be drawn back, and a desperate phone call brings Vera running to save him... and straight into a trap where she'll become a pawn in an ancient war between powerful magical forces. A captivating and original hidden-object adventure with just the right bit of creepiness!

Treasure of the Abandoned City Treasure of the Abandoned City is an action adventure game from Alec Stamos with artwork by Todd Luke. It continues the Tales of the Renegade Sector episodes with a loot hunt through space, sending you on a quest to find Laserbeard's treasure hidden somewhere on the dusty dry planet of Seltan. Fortunately, you get to punch and shoot a bunch of bad guys along the way!

Slayin Slayin isn't a game, it's a time machine rocketing from an 8-bit past. Pixel Licker's deliciously compulsive mashup of old school action RPG and contemporary endless runner-style progression is so infused with retro spirit that you might forget you're playing it on a device that lacks buttons.

Dream Factory When Detarou's playing Willy Wonka, any factory you visit is bound to be a little... off. With everything from a sober frog man, a de-pants/pantsing conveyor, a less-than-talented ventriloquist and more, this is one of the weirdest escapes yet... though thankfully with its share of clever puzzles to keep you occupied.

Fairune Fairune is an action-puzzle RPG adventure much like the world where it is set: a place where illusion is reality and three spirit icons have gone missing, unlocking an evil scourge that generates monsters all over the realms. It looks like something you've played before yet eliminates hack'n'slash style combat in favor of solving puzzles. Instead of fighting, just walk over monsters and make your way across a maze-like retro environment, gathering the items you need to open new pathways until your ultimate goal: a showdown with three powerful bosses that will either end in victory or crushing defeat.

Grimind In the mood for something challenging and aesthetically pleasing? From the imagination of Pawel Mogila springs a new physics-based puzzle adventure game, Grimind. Pawel chose to give Grimind a horror twist, but forget the standard rattling chains, apparitions out of the corner of your eye, and overused scream clichés, this is a beautifully-colored adventure game with a physics engine serving up the puzzles.

Goatup 2 What's the crucial element missing from most games nowadays? If you answered anything other than "goats," you're wrong! Jumping goats make anything better, and that's been proven. By science. Released by Llamasoft, Goatup 2 is the goatiest retro platformer you ever did see. A follow-up to the endless jumper Goatup, this sequel is slightly more traditional gameplay experience, if your idea of tradition involves minotaurs in rainbow sweaters, the Queen of England and angry toilets.

Fear for Sale: Nightmare Cinema When your coworker goes missing after attending a movie showing at a cinema that's supposed to have been shut down for years, probing deeper uncovers a supernatural plot by a malicious entity that promises everything to the creative souls yearning for success even as it exacts a terrible price. An extremely short, though absolutely gorgeous and engaging hidden-object adventure well worth a look.

Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet Magicka is back! And it's mobile! And Vlad's still not a vampire! Bringing with it everything that made the original game a hit, Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet takes a slightly more action-oriented approach to the spell slinging arcade game. You still combine elements to cast various bits of magic that can harm enemies, yourself, and your teammates, but thanks to shorter levels and a new camera angle, it's now all about speed and strategy.

Neighbor The doorknob is broken, so you're stuck in your apartment. Maybe, if you can get him to cooperate, your Neighbor can help? Point-and-click around the room, looking for a creative means to earn his assistance, solving puzzles and decoding codes. Red herrings might lead you astray while the comical style and Robamimi's affable charm makes you feel part of the jocosity, not only as a good neighbor, but as a welcome friend.

Indiana Stone: The Brave and the Boulder You know the old clich of the adventurer being chased by the giant boulder? It's a trope that has appeared in numerous movies and games, but we never get to see things from the boulder's point of view. Well, that's all about to change! Indiana Stone: The Brave and the Boulder is an arcade-styled action game from Twinsky Games in which you play the larger, rounder, rockier half of the oft-imitated duo. Your mission is to crush the unnamed (but curiously familiar) archaeologist who has stolen your precious golden idol with the intent of locking it up in a stuffy museum.

A False Saint, An Honest Rogue A False Saint, An Honest Rogue, and one very cold adventurer. Created by Jeremiah Reid for the Seven Day Roguelike (7DRL) competition, this unusual game mixes survival and roguelike elements in a strange and often confusing way. But that's why we like it! You're out in the cold, you're freezing, you're starving, and you have to survive. Sounds fairly ordinary until you factor in the fact that you're going a bit mad from the chill, and many things you think you see don't make much sense at all. There's just one thing on your mind: go west.

Ninja Village Ninjas have to have a place to live, just like the rest of us. They also have to have jobs and food and money and footpaths and cherry trees to look at. Fortunately, the simple life of a farmer ninja doesn't preclude raids on nearby towns, which is precisely why Kairosoft's mobile simulation game Ninja Village is so fantastic.

Slender: The Arrival You and Katie have been friends since you were little, sharing fun, adventure... and something dark and strange you both buried deep in your memories. Recently, she's been trying to sell her remote house, but when you arrive, you find the place empty except for signs of a struggle and disturbing scrawls on the walls. You're Katie's only hope as, armed with only a flashlight, you set off into the forest and a horror from your own childhood in this short but terrifyingly atmospheric indie action adventure.

Host Master Deux: Quest for Identity Tim Schafer's got problems, in that he has to host this year's Game Developer Conference again, but the one person who needs to believe he's actually Tim Schafer, remains unconvinced of his Schaferlyness. In this short but surreally silly and funny adventure from Double Fine, you'll need to get a beard, a shirt, and some gags to assemble the most Shchafer-esque visage possible from the most ridiculous means possible.

Nameless: The Hackers The 2010s are shaping up to be the decade of the Internet renegade, yet for those of us without the technical savvy necessary to participate in virtually sticking it to the man, BoxCat LLC offers us a tempting and significantly more legal alternative with Nameless: The Hackers, a mobile RPG with a lot of virtual bite.

24killers This party is hopping, but it's hard to enjoy it when someone wants you dead, and everyone is strange enough to be a suspect. Created in just seven days, this simple but uniquely stylish little puzzler has you asking questions of 24 monsters to figure out who's trying to kill you before they get to you first. That's... an extreme sort of party game. Couldn't you have just played charades?

Code Fred: Survival Mode Fred has gotten lost in the forest, and now, a dire wolf is chasing him. Fortunately, Fred's body is a complex system, prepared for both everyday survival and extraordinary circumstances. And you'll be learning how it works, in Code Fred: Survival Mode, a collection of educational action minigames from Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry and Helpful Strangers.

Monster Loves You! It's a monster's life for you in this casual yet engaging indie simulation from Dejobaan Games! Going from a lowly morsel swimming in a vat of goop to (potentially) a respected elder that can influence the course of history, it's a whimsical, weird, and occasionally gross cross between a choose-your-own-adventure story and a visual novel that offers lots of replay value and laughs.

Hallowed Legends: Ship of Bones When your plane takes a nosedive and you wake up on a strange island, the last thing you expected to deal with on top of your misfortune is the creeping ice taking the cursed town over and the malicious "woman in white" who has been stealing the souls of the townsfolk. The answer to this mystery and your own salvation lies deep within Norse mythology in this gorgeous, cinematic hidden-object adventure from Elephant Games.

Secrets of the Dark: Mystery of the Ancestral Estate Kids, if someone asks you to open a glowing coffin that shakes the entire house, emits green light, and is inlaid with harpies... just say no. Next time, that is, since you already did it, and now you have to stop darkness from warping the world in this creepy but campy hidden-object adventure where light and dark can change everything around you.

Deep Space Dash Survival is the name of the game in Deep Space Dash, an avoidance game meets bullet hell. As your ship tries to kill you, use your dash ability to run away from hundreds of projectiles and to become temporarily invincible. Gather power-ups to help you last for 60 seconds in order to pass the level. Buy helmets in the shop to up your stats so you can unlock even more levels and gain achievements.

Dojo Danger Dojo Danger from Kihon is the kind of game you can't wait to be good at. One part strategy and one part arcade physics, the setup is a bit reminiscent of the SQUIDS series, putting you in control of a group of heroes who can be shot around the screen in order to defeat the bad guys. This time around, though, you get to play as a band of ninjas ridding the world of a zombie invasion by smacking into them and knocking them into spike traps!

Legend of Dungeon Legend of Dungeon is a hybrid game from RobotLovesKitty that takes a roguelike and fuses it with a sidescrolling beat-em-up. While that may sound like mixing peanuts, cayenne peppers and bubblegum, the end result manages to take the best from both genres and leave you happily content adventuring through your dangerous but loot filled dungeon world. Just don't get too angry when you realize death in this game is permanent.

Block Fortress Block Fortress is Minecraft meets tower defense meets first person shooter, all squeezed down into a mobile game. Build a base in the middle of a blocky wilderness, place turrets and towers and power supplies to fortify your position, then send in the waves of enemies. Once combat begins, you shift from building mode to combat mode, taking a gun into battle and watching over your fort by blasting enemies by hand. It's incredibly exciting and also deeply rooted in upgrades and tactics, making it the sort of game you can play for months without truly mastering.

Hell On Duty The underworld stinks, mostly because all the demons do, and it's your job to clean them all up in this ghoulishly endearing physics puzzler. Using a special ragdoll cannon, not to mention dolls with unique abilities, fire and knock each demon into the boiling cauldron to make them squeaky clean, but with new puzzle elements piled on throughout the game, it's harder (and more fun) than you might think.
