Battleheart Legacy Mika Mobile's Battleheart Legacy is Torchlight II (or Diablo, if you like) for mobile devices. Those are some big words to throw around, but the studio has managed to capture the feeling of epic adventure, combat, upgrades and quests from those massive RPGs and condense them into something that's accessible without sacrificing complexity.

Bubble Witch Saga 2 Welcome to Witch Country! Don't worry, it isn't as scary as it sounds. Instead of mixing potions or getting put on trial for sneezing, you'll simply be matching like-colored bubbles. Bubble Witch 2 Saga is a marble popper from King similar to Puzzle Bobble (a.k.a. Bust-a-Move), but with a surprisingly well-assembled presentation and gameplay that feels as smooth and natural as popping bubbles in real life.

Pocket Harvest What goes into running a farm? A lot more than you'd expect in Kairosoft's latest addictive sim for iOS and Android! You'll need to enter contests, complete missions, train your workers, invest in tourism, and engineer your crops if you want to take the coveted top spot in the yearly rankings!

Halfbrick publishing Candy Crush-like puzzle game Yes Chef! The studio behind Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride and Colossatron: Massive World Threat is getting ready to run head-on into Candy Crush territory. The team is publishing a puzzle game by CitrusJoy called Yes Chef!, utilizing a Bejeweled-style matching grid but replacing candy/gems with real food. Well, if you consider eggplant to be a real food.

Tales of the Adventure Company Tales of the Adventure Company is a casual RPG that works like a puzzle game. The tile-tapping exploration mechanic will be instantly familiar to anyone who's played Dungelot (or had an advent calendar), while the enemy grid formations will feel similar to the animal rescuing sections of Disco Zoo. Put it all together with quick combat sessions and a little bit of party-based strategy and you've got your next roguelike obsession!

Pablo Cavarez: Sliding Puzzle Explorer Pablo Cavarez: Sliding Puzzle Explorer is your new hero. The intrepid explorer traverses underground temples like we stroll through the park. His secret is to take things one square at a time. His other secret is to get you to move those squares before taking a single step. The sliding block puzzle game is somewhat similar to Continuity in basic design, but Pablo definitely has the tougher job. How many other puzzle heroes have to use a sword?

OTTTD (Over the Top Tower Defense) Tower defense games on mobile devices are about as common as ice in an igloo. That's why SMG Studio decided to go all-out with OTTTD. And by "all-out" we mean they crammed in everything they could think of to create a defense game that really is over the top. You'll like it, though, because all of those elements work together to add excitement and depth to a genre that desperately needs a rousing punch in the gut.

Lumena By the time you finish reading this sentence, you could have lost three games of Lumena. The high-speed, twitch-based arcade gameplay will be familiar to anyone who tortured their hand eye coordination with the likes of Super Hexagon, only this time around there's a bit of a rhythm aspect to it. Even if you can follow the beat, though, it's still not an easy game. Not by a longshot.

Monument Valley Monument Valley is a creative puzzle game that looks like something Wonderputt developer Reece Millidge would create and plays like Echochrome (or BOXGAME, if you like), even though it's made by ustwo, the developer of Whale Trail. Set in a surreal world of shapes and tricky perspectives, you control Ida as she ventures from level to level, walking on walls and twisting platforms as she tries to figure out where she's at and what the heck is going on in this dreamlike world.

Kiwanuka Kiwanuka is a puzzle game that feels a lot like Lemmings, only with lightning and humans instead of lemmings and dirt. You're in charge of a group of humans who have two enormous talents: sticking together as a group, and forming towers and bridges out of their own bodies. The set-up sounds almost too simple in words, but once you see the mad puzzles that require multiple towers drops through swirling insta-death rocks, you'll be thankful there isn't much more to be concerned with.

SpellPix From mobile puzzle maestro Kris Pixton, SpellPix is a new take on the path-drawing logic puzzle seen in games like HUEBRIX or Conceptis' Link-a-Pix. The idea is to connect the marked letters to an identically marked letter somewhere else on the grid. The path can snake around as much as it likes, but it has to be unbroken. In SpellPix, each grid square has a letter, so with every pair of letters you match up, you'll also spell a word.

Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage Kraken Pack More Icebreaker, anyone? Nitrome has released the Kraken Pack for its slice-based physics puzzle mobile game Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage. The update contains new enemies, new characters, new missions, a new branching map with side paths, and a brand new boss fight described as "spectacular"! It also contains 40 new levels, bringing the total number of stages to just over 140. Android users finally have their chance to cut blocks on their devices, as the Kraken Pack also marks Icebreaker's debut on the Google Play marketplace. No downsides, just ice slides!

Leo's Fortune Leo is a charming blue puff ball who is also very rich. Or he was very rich until some thief made off with his stash of gold. Now you must help him travel across moss-covered forests, oasis-dabbled deserts, watery pirate coves and to the depths beyond. This means a harrowing journey through obstacle courses strewn with deadly spikes and unimaginable treachery. This also makes for a delightfully unique, remarkably gorgeous, and charmingly entertaining puzzle platform adventure.

The Robbery The Robbery is a stylish mobile room escape game from Caluliber that isn't about escaping from rooms, towers, or even offices. Instead, you're a burglar out for some cash, cracking safes one by one using your puzzle solving skills. Use clues and a few inventory items in each level to get to the gold, then race against the clock (and the security lasers) to grab it all for yourself. Tasty, tasty loot!

Red Herring Sixteen clues need to be sorted into four groups. No, it's not Only Connect... but it's close! It's a tricky challenge avoiding the false paths to find a solution, but multiple difficulty levels make this mobile delight accessible to all levels of puzzlers.

Fiasco! You have two minutes to turn a falling mess of letter tiles into words. Think you're up to the challenge? Fiasco! from Blinking Pixels combines Tetris with Scrabble in the most frantic way possible. Letters fall from the top of the screen and can be swiped and stacked below. Third Eye Crime: Act 1 It's difficult to pull off a noir atmosphere without getting pretentious. It's difficult to pull off a stealth game without resorting to tired tropes. Third Eye Crime manages to avoid both of those traps. The astonishingly stylish top-down puzzle/action game puts you in the speedy shoes of a criminal who can read minds. He uses his ability to tell where guards are about to search, staying quite literally one step ahead of trouble.

Wayward Souls Wayward Souls is an action RPG by Rocketcat Games that shows the world what a portable roguelike should be. The game takes full advantage of quick-burst mobile gaming habits and allows you to jump in, slash some baddies and collect your reward, all without having to tap through pages of story text or tutorial tips. It's a direct descendant of the studio's previous mobile RPG Mage Gauntlet, only more refined and better suited for satisfying rounds of hack 'n' slash.

North Wind: Trill of Consciousness North Wind: Trill of Consciousness by Henry Gosuen is a creative take on the platform exploration genre. You control the tiny hero named Dir who moves through a blocky world of spikes and obstacles and maze-like puzzles. Instead of scrolling levels that keep pace with the protagonist, though, you do all the swiping yourself from a stationary point of view. It's a bit like Office Rush, Rooms or Continuity, only with a decidedly sweeter metroidvania feel.

Can You Escape - Tower Can You Escape - Tower is a short point-and-click mobile room escape game created by MobiGrow. In what should be a familiar set-up, you find yourself trapped in a series of rooms with exits that are locked, barred, concealed or otherwise inaccessible. David David is a game, an arcade game, and David is a very unusual game. Our little polygon hero finds himself in a world of abstract shapes and giant evil beasts that are out to eviscerate him one angle at a time. His only powers are the ability to run away like a little yellow belly and fire slingshot-like blasts at his foes. Sometimes he feels powerful, sometimes victorious, but there's always nagging feelings of helplessness and hopelessness in this dangerous world that just wants David to go away.

Cardinal Quest 2 Ready to die just a little bit more? Words & Cards "Words & Cards," you ask, "could it be a game about dinosaurs and Swiss watches?" Alas, no. In Words & Cards, you've got to make a word from a pool of letters you share with your opponent. Each consonant in the word you play turns into a playing card, with which you can score extra points by making poker hands. It sounds simple (and it is), but there's more strategy involved than you might think.

Sokoboom 2 Who needs bells and whistles? Not this little puzzle game. Though more of the same straightforward Sokoban as the original, this sequel keeps the presentation sleek and simple and the levels challenging to make it a satisfying and welcome little addition to the genre.

Cabin Escape: Alice's Story Cabin Escape: Alice's story is a lively challenge for room escape fans, especially those that would like to see the clear, logical elements common to the best eastern-designed escapes presented with a western flair. Glitch Games brings the escaping joy with this impressive titbit.

Polar Escape The cold can do funny things to you. (Just ask anyone who's sick of the phrase "polar vortex.") So when you're stationed at a polar research station, things can get hairy. In Polar Escape, a new escape game from Just Pine Games, your coworkers have locked you in someone's room, and you have to get out so you can be rescued. Though the game is very short, it's quite intuitive and has a quirky sense of humor that leaves you wanting to see more from the developer.

Block Legend Block Legend is unfairly beguiling. We say this because it's so deceptively simple on the surface, yet its design allows for play sessions that never stop. And that's good, because you honestly won't want to. Created by Alvin Phu, Block Legend feels a lot like 10000000 mixed with Puzzle Quest (you know, back when it was good). It combines samegame with an RPG, allowing you to match tiles to attack, defend and level up. And it does so without ads, in-app purchases, or any other crazy gimmicks!

Mines of Mars Time to get digging. Mines of Mars is a wholly addicting mining and exploration game created by Crescent Moon Games. It plays a lot like the classic Motherload or the criminally underappreciated early iOS release iDigIt. Take your pickaxe and start pecking away at the soil, gathering metals and gems you can carry back to the surface to refine into useable materials. Then take those materials and upgrade your tools so you can dig even deeper!

Though definitely short and nearly TOO simple, great visuals and simple fun still make it addictive while it lasts.

Pixel Room At first, you can't make out much in this escape-the-room game from Kotorinosu. Could this thing be a door? What are these green squarish things you've found, almost by accident? Yet, if you manage to solve the puzzles and survive the pixel hunts of this room, details come into being. You'll be that much closer to success.

Hungry Cat Picross There's no feeling quite like that moment when you first realize the solution to a puzzle, and Hungry Cat Picross provides that hundreds of times over. Not only does it provide an innovative twist on the picross genre of logic puzzles, but it has more than 300 puzzles to solve and an adorable cat in a beret. You don't want to deprive kitty of his sardines, do you?

Choice of the Deathless Choice of the Deathless combines the rich, imaginative gameplay of the classic all text adventures of yesteryear and fuses them with the evocative and fully-realized world of Max Gladstone's novels.

Colossatron: Massive World Threat It's Colossatron: Massive World Threat! The creators of Jetpack Joyride have unleashed a mechanical serpent from space on the planet, allowing it to snake its way from city to city as it destroys everything in its path. The best part is you get to participate in said destruction, all by grabbing floating power core segments and attaching them to your machine. It's crazy amounts of fun, but making an efficient robot of chaos will require a little more than wanton color matching.

DOOORS 3 More plus door equals DOOORS. Sounds like something a mad doctor would scream out as he tears at his hair and cackles, doesn't it? Perhaps this same mad doctor is who locked you up, sentencing you to puzzle your way through one door, only to come to the next, and the next. Forty doors to be exact...and, if other installments in the series prove anything, there may be more to come. Regardless, the fun on your mobile device is near endless!

Fiz: The Brewery Management Game Have you ever wanted to drop everything and pursue your dream? Well, if your dream involves beer or time management games (or beer and time management games), you're in luck. Fiz is a new game by Bit by Bit Studios where you get to manage a brewery, enter competitions, meet all sorts of interesting characters, and try to keep everything hopping.

Doctor Who: Legacy It's not the Doctor Who game you may have been hoping for, but this free match-3 RPG for iOS and Android offers a ton of unlockable characters and battles with enemies from the show. With gorgeous artwork, simple and addictive gameplay, and a lack of the usual free-to-play frustrations, Doctor Who: Legacy is still enjoyable if not quite what you'd expect.

It's got power-ups, a variety of modes, multiple vehicles to choose from and customize, and yeah, piggies to torment. All in the name of a first prize cake!

100 Doors: Aliens Space 100 Doors: Aliens Space is a mobile room escape game from Gipnetix Games, creator of 100 Doors 2013, 100 Doors of Revenge, and several other similar games. Instead of rooms with tables and chairs, this time you're thrown into outer space to contend with multi-stage doors, alien technology, glowing portals and mysterious artefact pieces. It's one of the more unique takes on the escape genre, and it's all the more entertaining because of it!

Icycle: On Thin Ice Icycle: On Thin Ice from Wonderputt creator Reece Millidge of Damp Gnat, is a sequel to the original Icycle browser game. You're put in control of a chap named Dennis riding his cycle across the frozen landscape, chasing after the lovely lady of his dreams. This takes him across all sorts of bizarre locations, from shifting caverns to the interior of his own dreams. It's a physics adventure made with the sort of unrestrained creativity that used to dominate the casual gaming market. Playing Icycle: On Thin Ice is like being a kid again, only so much better.

Kingdom Rush Frontiers Kingdom Rush has returned! Ironhide Game Studio has released an official sequel to the tower defense game that stole our free time (and social lives) back in 2011. Kingdom Rush Frontiers is built on the same basic defense skeleton that made the first game so spectacular, only now there's more of it! It's Kingdom Rush, and you know it's going to be amazing, so get to playing!

Strike Force Heroes: Extraction Strike Force Heroes: Extraction from Sky9 Games continues the arcade shooting browser games on mobile devices, introducing rooftop running as a central mechanic lined with ample amounts of gun fire and upgrading. A creative "cover" mechanic sets it apart from the rest of the endless runners in the crowd, making it both a strong contender in the mobile race and a suitable follow-up to the Strike Force series, too!

furiosity Bart Bonte's latest puzzle game is designed to challenge your ability to recognize patterns then turn around and put them to use. Should be easy, right? Infectonator Hot Chase It's the end of the world as we know it... and it's all your fault! Symmetrain Symmetrain isn't quite like anything you've played. It shares a bit of flavor with an endless runner and a spot the difference game, but when you combine those features you get something that doesn't neatly fit into either category. Instead, you find yourself comparing pieces of the countryside as you look for inconsistencies in the scenery. Created by the studio behind About Love, Hate and the other ones as well as Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers, Symmetrain is simple, creative, unique, and surprisingly captivating.

Desktop Dungeons Think you can handle a roguelike easy? You haven't tried this challenging, funny, strategic indie gem. You'll need more than brawn to conquer the quests thrown at you as you struggle to build your kingdom in this turn-based strategy game. Unlock powerful new classes and races, make deals with demons, discover new equipment, and much more with almost endless replayability. Highly recommended.

Star Wars: Tiny Death Star Star Wars: Tiny Death Star is what happens when LucasArts and NimbleBit conspire to steal all of your time. A casual simulation game at its core, Tiny Death Star is essentially a Star Wars-themed Tiny Tower with a handful of new features and some tweaks to the basic gameplay. Despite having an overzealous in-app purchasing system (don't panic when you see the prices in there), it still manages to hold onto that "just one more minute" style of gameplay that will occupy your brain even when you're not playing the game.

The Stormglass Protocol: Room Escape! The Stormglass Protocol: Room Escape! is a first person room escape game created by the Stormglass team. It pulls the genre out of its stationary roots and offers a full 3D experience that lets you walk around and investigate each chamber as you please. The puzzles will be familiar, but the interface adds a nice level of realism to the normally static experience.

Stack Rabbit From Disney Mobile, the team behind Where's My Water?, Where's My Mickey? and related spin-offs, Stack Rabbit is an isometric puzzle game that's so adorable it just might melt your face off. Playing as a blocky rabbit searching for food, your job is to steal veggies while avoiding the not-so-watchful eye of Max the guard dog. It's an extraordinarily simple premise that's executed with a lot of style and flair, just the way we like our mobile games!

Pocket God: Ooga Jump Bolt Creative, the studio behind the strangely captivating Pocket God series, is up to something a bit different. Pocket God: Ooga Jump takes a turn from the previous sandbox games in the series, dropping the poking and prodding in exchange for a little tilt-based endless jumping. The same characters and moderately twisted sense of humor, only now you're helping the pygmies out instead of, you know, zapping them with lightning.
