Weekday Escape

DoraWakey wakey eggs and escape-y! Weekday Escape has been gently simmering all night long with the finest of spices, and it's finally here to start your day with a hearty dose of your favourite developers! Esklavos is going to make sure you get some sea air, though scurvy is a possibility. Vitamin Hana didn't bring any breakfast for you, but there's these dogs you need to worry about first anyway. And Funkyland is almost dressed to impress and needs you to help get just one hand ready for a day on the town.

Girl's Room Escape No. 15: False NailsGirl's Room Escape No. 15: False Nails - Wow, it's sure taken Funkyland a long time to get ready to go out. We've gotten their foundation, their hair rollers, and their lip gloss to name just a few things, and now they need us to scour the room for their false nails... but... only five of them? Are we going out with one hand done only? Or... one foot?! Sigh... makeup is so confusing, but I guess that's why Funkyland is so glamorous and I'm here sobbing into my uneven eyeliner.

Free the Dogs 2Free the Dogs 2 - Look, this isn't about you. I mean... you're fine, and all, but you haven't had an amusing Buzzfeed montage post about you. You're not a dog. And as such, I'm going to need you to concentrate on freeing these dogs (so precious, so pure) from Vitamin Hana before you worry about escaping yourself. You'll need to solve some puzzles before you can unlatch those cages and let the dogs fly free... do dogs fly? I'm actually more of a cat person. Fly sounds right.

Sweet Potato Party!Pirate Coast Escape 2 - Pirates! How do they work? They're swarthy, we know that, and riddled with scurvy, and apparently also extremely blue. Additionally, they're wicked selfish, and Esklavos has put one in your way that has no interest in sharing any of the treasure (plunder? booty?) with you whatsoever. Naturally, this will not stand, but instead of yelling until we get our way, I guess we can solve a few puzzles and see if that gets us anywhere first.

We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.

False Nails Walkthrough

1. (Pink) (note that you have to solve this *after* #3, green)

On the left wall, there's a contraption with a 5x5 grid of circles, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe it needs to be turned on?

Check the right side for an on/off switch.

Note the arrows and colored circles. Where else in the room have you seen those colors?

Look at the contraption above the bed. Set each column to match the code you saw.

(from left to right) orange = 2, pink = 4, green = 3, blue = 4, purple = 5

That's a strange gizmo, but it kinda-sorta resembles something else in the room.

The contraption between the vanity table and the door has a button with an image of a claw hook on it. This new gizmo kinda looks like a claw hook, doesn't it?

Put the gizmo onto the end of the arm (where you got the heart-shaped key from), then press the button.

Oh, there you are, pink frog! I was afraid you weren't going to appear in this game.

2. (Yellow)

On the bookshelf (right wall)

3. (Green)

The box on the windowsill (right wall) says NAIL in alternating black and red letters. The vanity table (left wall) has some playing cards labeled with those letters. Find the number that's the correct color for each letter.

N = ace of spades = 1, A = 5 of diamonds, I = 8 of clubs, L = 4 of hearts.

This gets you a pair of scissors. What did you find in the room where a pair of scissors would come in handy?

There's a blue key tied to the shoe rack (left of the bookshelf). Use the scissors to get the key.

A blue key? It doesn't open the heart box. So what *does* it open?

That contraption between the vanity table and the door has a blue doohickey with what looks like a keyhole.

Another key, this time gold and heart-shaped. Heart, eh?

It's the key to the box next to the armchair.

4. (Blue)

Lift the cushion of the armchair.

5. (Purple)

Get the cane from next to the lamp (left wall). Use it to get that thing you can't quite reach under the bed.

One nitpick about the writeup: Funkyland actually has you looking for five *sets* of false nails (in five different colors), so you will end up with enough to do all of your fingers and all of toes several times over. :)

Fun bunch of games! Though gotta admit there were some weird item combos in the Pirates one... got stuck until I read bearharry's tip! Otherwise pretty fun. Also I am glad to be part of the continued canine freedom movement.

Doggy Freedom in 10 Easy Steps
(Otherwise known as Free The Dogs 2 Walkthrough)

Please take a look around the room before diving into the walkthrough. (Because, one, are you playing the game or are you reading the walkthrough? and two, I'm kind of assuming you have at least a vague idea of where things are. No "turn right twice" type of instructions here.)

1. Top left cabinet

The clue will be revealed if you shed some light on it.

Turn on the lamp in the view with the window.

647

Use the code to open the left cabinet in the view with the fridge.

Get: blue key

2. Doggy #1

Use the blue key on the carrier with the blue keyhole (next to the fridge).
Get: screwdriver

3. Safe

Use the screwdriver to open the floor cabinet/safe in the view with the window.
Get: hairdryer

4. Fridge

Heat it up, baby!

The code for opening the fridge is on the hairdryer.

Double-click the words on the handle to see some letters highlighted in red.
OU
AI

Get: ice cube, dog food

5. Melty melty

What are you waiting for? Melt that ice cube with the hairdryer, already!
Get: water (?), green key

6. Doggy #2

Use the green key on the carrier with the green keyhole (next to the door).
C'mon, doggy, you're free!
Oy. This one's shy. Maybe some food will draw him out?

Put the dog food into the dish to the left of the carrier. (Make sure to open the bag first.) Take a spin around the room.

Get: hammer

7. Window

You know those gray circles on the window? They're nails. Maybe you could remove them?

Use the hammer on the window.

Get: bone

8. Top right cabinet

The first doggy will help you with this one, if you ask nicely.

Give the bone to the first doggy (the one sitting next to the door). Take a turn around the room.
Take the bone back once the doggy is finished with it. Hmm, what's this on the bone?

The doggy's gnawing has revealed the code for the cabinet.

Heart, flask, cat

Use the code to open the top right cabinet in the fridge view.

Get: red key

9. Doggy #3

Use the red key to release the remaining doggy, in the carrier under the window.
Get: magnifying glass

10. The keys are key

Look at one of your keys. What's that little black spot?

Use the magnifying glass on the black spots to reveal the code for the door.

Blue: big spot = white, little spots = white black white black
Green: big spot = white, little spots = white white black white
Red: big spot = black, little spots = white black white white

Colorblind: the buttons on the door panel are, from left to right, blue, green, and red.

Get: freedom!
