Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

WALKTHROUGH
(please try really hard and use professional assistance to help you out before reading spoilers)

Kroko:

Give him a THERAPUTIC INTERVIEW and he'll get out of his box

Use ADMINISTRATION OF DRUGS to calm him down a bit

Then DREAM ANALYSIS(I usually do to first but i couldn't this time

He's still nerous so he needs MOTIVATION TRAINING

Use MUSICOTHERAPY and he'll get a flute

Try DREAM ANALYSIS again...He lost his flute ;_;

Now DESENSIATION to cure his fear of water

Now MUSICOTHERAPY to get another flute

Nearly done, just DREAM ANAYLYSIS again so he gets his hot water bottle and he's cured!

Lilo:

Use DREAM ANALYSIS to see what he's thinking about

Then ring the CRISIS LINE

Then use PLAY THERAPY and give him a gameboy (he looks like my little brother when hes playing his gameboy lol)

DREAM ANALYSIS again (if it's not the bit with the big equation do it twice)

Give his a THERAPUTIC INTERVIEW

Now for some MUSICOTHERAPY

Use PLAY THERAPY and he'll have a flashback, (how can he fit all that stuff inside him!) then

Use CRISIS LINE so he can phone home.Yay he's cured!(Let's just hope no one else needs the phone for a while)

Sly:

Let's see what he's thinking with DREAM ANALYSIS

Now for ADMINISTRATION OF DRUGS

Let's try some MOTIVATIONAL TRAINING...does anyone else find this one a bit strange?

Let's see how he feels after that, more DREAM ANALYSIS ahh lots of tails!

use MUSICOTHERAPY and give his a rattle

Then use the THERAPUTIC INTERVIEW and DREAM ANALYSIS until he has the flashback where he's thrown out of the car

Then you can use the SURGERY option to fix his tail. Cured!

Dolly:

Firstly DREAM ANALYSIS

Then a THERAPUTIC INTERVIEW...

Another DREAM ANALYSIS (I don't know why Lilo's theres with a sock on his nose :P)

Then a THERAPUTIC INTERVIEW

Then she does some knitting in OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY and makes a nose sock

Then DREAM ANALYSIS (Lilo in the background again) and then Dolly's inner wolf breaks out (She's one of those reversible plush animals)

Then use ADMINISTRTION OF DRUGS so she'll stop panicking

Then use DREAM ANALYSIS and she'll have a flashback, and finally

use TRIGGER STIMULUS so she can put her nose sock on the dog and make friends with her inner wolf

Dub:

First use DREAM ANALYSIS

Then use MOTIVATION TRAINING

Next take away his stopwatch with CONFISCATION so he isn't distracted

Then DREAM ANALYSIS again and he'll retreat into his shell

Then look under the bed and click(If you can't find it click PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE)and electrocute him slightly until he comes out (thanks Channy)I don't really like this bit :(

Then use EXERCICE THERAPY yay a balloon!

DREAM ANALYSIS again...

EXERCICE THERAPY...and then he'll start to cry for a while, and you'll have to wait a bit. Then wait until there are no tissues left in the box

and finally use DREAM ANALYSIS.How cute is that? Cured and finished ;)

STORIES

Kroko:

He used to be a hot-water bottle cover, but his owner took away his bottle and used him as a mop cover, which was the cause for his hydrophobia. The pattern on the lady's dress looked like eyes so he was afraid of the eyes.

Lilo:

His owner used his zip mouth to keep her things in, and she hid the answers to a test in his mouth, but the teacher found out and took away the answers so Lilo feels he has to work out the puzzle himself

Sly:

His owners used his tail to keep drugs in, but they saw a police car behind them so they threw him out the window. His rattle got run over so his rattle broke and the drugs got crushed and made him go crazy

Dolly:

Her owner used her as a chew toy for her dog which made her have a fear of dogs, and also a fear of her wolf side. She's afraid of letting her wolf side get out, but she's sometimes confused between her sheep self and her wolf self (hence the barking and howling when she's still a sheep)

Dub:

When his owner was at the airport on one of those escalator things she dropped him and he couldn't catch up with her. A health club owner picked him up and turned his shell inside out because it had a racing stripe on it. Dub is obsessed with training now because he's afraid of being left behind if he's not fast enough.

YAY!! I'm so happy!! Jay you rock!

I visited the link this morning but got side tracked before I could finish working with Sly. Thanks for the reminder. :D

Reply

Wow what a sweet game, I love the solution to Sly, makes ya think- this flash rocks!!!

Reply

I feel so sorry for him ;o; He's so cute!

Reply

I havent played any of those earlier, guess I didnt think there could be anything interesting even when Jay kept saying how good they were. Well, I dont know if I actually LIKED them, but I couldnt stop playing thats for sure.

I mean, those WERE stuffed animals, right? Why I felt so sorry for them then? Very few games can make you really FEEL something beside anger and hate.

Great stuff. Strange, but great. And I dont think Rockstar will ever make anything equal :)

Reply

Cute game! But, I'm stuck. Can anyone give me a hint for Lilo? Thx.

Why, oh why, doesn't Sly show up for us? We can't find him any where. We even cured all of the other animals again, thinking then we would see him...
I normally don't like snakes, but, I think I would have like Sly. I really love krok so much...
Any hints on how to find the snake?

Tonypa - I haven't given this game the in-depth review it deserves. You touched on the primary reason I love this game so much: This game communicates emotion better than any other Flash game I have played. The animation is extraordinary. More interactive narrative than a 'game' per se, though it does have game-like qualities.

Amy - keep trying! =) I wish I could give you the correct sequence of therapies to try. I just kept on trying different things until he got better. =)

Christina - If you are playing this game by clicking a link here on my site, then you should see Sly upon entering the double doors where Crok, Lilo and Dolly are waiting.

Reply

Amy, there is help (hints) system built into the game. I used it all the time to get poor animals cured :)

Christina, I dont understand how you can not find the snake, its right there in the waiting room with other 3. Did you use the link in the review? And I dont know about other languages, but it surely works in English version. You dont have to look for the Sly in any special way.

Reply

I figured out what was wrong with Sly. It was so much fun. I felt so bad for him after. I wanted to give him a big hug!

Reply

I loved it! Thanks for telling us of the update, jay. After the first one, I wasn't sure I could ever love a fake, animated, stuffed animal more than I loved Lilo, but Sly is running a close second.

And to all of you having struggles with the game, just keep on clicking. There doesn't seem to be any definite rhyme or reason to this game. The answer will come.

Reply
Luckdragon July 23, 2005 10:13 PM

Wow, this game was very cute and actually kinda accurate compared to actual trauma therapy.

I agree, Sly's problem and solution were very cute/funny.

Reply

I love it. A snake trying to do yoga... the kind that hurts. I love it. So cute *huggles poor animals*

That was such a wonderful game. I felt so badly for the little crocodile... when I finished helping him, I nearly cried...

Reply

Thanks, Shastanna - I'm glad you love it! It's one of my favorites.

Reply

YES! I cured all the animals. This game is really fun. I hope they add some more animals soon. Maybe a cat or a bird would be nice.

Reply

Definitely one of my favorite games ever. The way you progress through the story of each toy is brilliantly done, and you actually end up feeling for them.. Lilo and Sly are easily the best and funniest characters. Though Dolly's condition was very interesting.

The only drawback is trying to explain to other people how great it is..
You tell them you have to cure cuddly toys of mental illness and you get very strange looks.

Reply
Luckdragon July 26, 2005 1:53 AM

My opinions on the animals:

Dolly; I just thought her condition was HILARIOUS. It's funny to see that kind of thing illustrated in that fashion.

Kroko; Oh jeez, no wonder he's completely paranoid. I think that he was the most abused and had the most defensive mechanisms. Loved the trippy scenes though.

Lilo; This one is done very well, and a very creative scenario too. Probably the most emotional of the four.

Sly; Sly's problem was subtle and pretty damn cool. I liked it when he left and you heard the music from his owners.

I tried to keep spoilers to a minimum! It was a great game.

Christina Hall July 26, 2005 9:12 PM

OK, I was finally able to get the snake, by clicking on a different link than the one that says "click" and also by reclicking allow pop=ups from this site.

But now, when I get to the second session with Sly, and I try to do ANYTHING all I get is a 'loading' and then I wait, and then nothing ever happens.

Is that how it's supposed to be? I didn't have difficulties with any of the other animals...

thanks again,

Christina

Reply

No, Christina, that's not the same behavior I experience no matter what link I click on.

When you click on an animal in the lobby, the game loads the respective Flash movie. Once the movie is finished downloading, you should be able to play it immediately.

Try clearing your browser cache, and start again. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to suggest. What OS and browser are you using?

Reply
Christina Hall July 26, 2005 10:21 PM

AOL 9.0, and Internet Explorer (a later version).

I think I will clear my cache. This is really frustrating me!!

Reply

Are you accessing my site through AOL, or are you coming here directly using IE? I would try the latter if you are still experiencing trouble, since I don't use AOL I cannot test it myself.

Reply
Christina Hall July 28, 2005 4:25 AM

Ok, forgot to write your name above (have an autofill, so...)
Anyway...
What happened is, I found out about your site from another site I go to. (www.volition.com). Also, when I went to the asylum after the snake came, two windows would pop up, one very small, and one normal sized. I always x'ed out of the small one, not thinking of re-loading because of a new character added (a new game).
I finally got to meet sly, and, I have to say, I have never remembered my teenage years so clearly...*G*
He was a bit easy to cure though.
I still love Kroko the most. He reminds me of almost every man I know, playing tough, to hide the 'fluff'
My favorite part (besides when he pulls the puppet's head off) is when he calls her over and flashes his badge.
I love the gator and want to protect him.
Do I need help?
Thanks,
Christina

Haha that game rocks!! totally!!! I cured Sly:). I cured all the others, but he was my fave :).

all he need was a maraca in his tail. do music therapy for the maraca and do dream analysis and stuff and DONT DO YOGA, IT HURTS HIM BAAAAD. Get to the point where you can do surgery, and he is cured :).

Reply

This game is so good I've tryed to cure all the patients but I've only cured Lilo and Sly
Dolly's animations are so funny! If anyone hasn't cured lilo yet here are some hints

Do dream analysis ALOT

only do play therapy once

NEVER USE DRUGS it never helps with lilo

-Alison

Reply

I have a problem... I was working with Kroko and got to the point where he had a washer-woman dream, and then the hot-water-bottle reflection dream, but now the clipboard's gone and it seems like the only option I have is the electric shock thingy. Do I do it?

Reply

Never mind. I figured things out.

Reply

I've cured them all except Lilo, he is now stuck with his gameboy thing and can only interview or drugs

Reply

Can anyone help me with lilo she just plays tht game and then she won't quit!! HELP!!!!!

Reply

OK, solution for Lilo, first three steps in one spoiler

First dream analysis
Play therapy
dream analysis

Now one step per spoiler

paint therapy

Therapeutic interview

Musicotherapy

Play-therapy

Crisis line

Reply
johnja97 May 12, 2006 6:25 PM

Maybe this game has changed, but the spoilers don't work for Lilo. After the first 3 steps, paint therapy is not an option. Dream analysis, crisis line, and motivation training are the only available options. Boo.

Reply

This is such a fantastic game! I cured them all and was obsessive over it, I spent so long playing it! I have a question about Lilo's past.

I know the reason Lilo was like the way She(?) is. But was the owner caught cheating on a test and thats why she was obsessing about the puzzle?

Reply

I LOVE this game. The story and concept are simply awesome, and it was overall well executed. I have a question though...

What was Lilo doing in Kroko's and Dolly's dreams? And why was she wearing the muzzle thing?
Oh, and when she coughed up all that stuff... was that a condom I saw in there?! o__O

I've played these games quite a lot, and yet somehow I never get tired of them! My personal favorite is Kroko, I don't exactly know why. He just pushes the right buttons, or something along those lines.

Reply
dreamerblue July 25, 2006 11:37 AM

I have to agree, this game actually made me feel sorry for the critters. Although I felt sorrier for Syd at one point than I did at the end...

when he had the dream of the girl taking something from his tail and then walking off into the river, I thought maybe some child choked on some loose part of his tail and died (hence why she didn't come out of the river.

Anyway, yeah, Kroko and Syd made me go "That's so sad!" and Dolly was amusing-but-makes-you-think when I finally figured out what was going on. Oh, and I loved listening to the motivation therapy tapes :)...some of them were amusing, and some of them actually encouraged me! I found Lilo a little weird up until a certain point (and she's the one I started with so I wasn't sure how I was going to like the game seeing as she was weirding me out a little), but I was so proud of her when

she wrote her name in the Game Boy in the game and got up all determined-like

and then again when

she unzipped her mouth and started talking!

Reply
dreamerblue July 25, 2006 11:50 AM

cw - in answer to why Lilo obsesses about the jigsaw -

if you look carefully at the test that the girl is caught cheating on, the top of it has a diagram that shows the two jigsaw pieces fitted together. She couldn't solve that question without her "cheat sheet" (well, she really couldn't solve it once she got caught and her test got taken away, but she couldn't have done it on her own regardless) and I guess Lilo felt really bad for her that she wished she could have helped the girl solve the question without the "cheat sheet"...after all, the girl was in a way relying on Lilo for help, and Lilo failed to help her, and I guess Lilo felt badly about that "failure." I know sometimes I find myself moping about "failures" that I shouldn't bother moping about.

Shivers - about those dreams -

I actually didn't see Lilo in Kroko's dreams, so I can't help ya there, but when I saw Lilo in Dolly's dream, she had the "magical sock" over her mouth and pointed Dolly towards the woods. This served two purposes: 1. encouraged Dolly to go into the woods rather than pursue the oasis hallucination she saw when she was in the desert (setting the scene for the other dreams) and, more importantly, 2. signals to Dolly (and to us) that putting a "magical sock" over a mouth might be a key to her cure (I don't know if you read the help for Dolly at all, but at one point when I did it encouraged me to help Dolly find this "magical sock" as an inner resource or some such thing).

Reply

OMG! I killed Kroko! I Like Kroko and Dolly the best. I didn't know what to do! His status bar was all red and the last thing I did was give him shock therapy!

Reply

Did anyone else notice all of the humor snuck in to that game? Like the "no hanging" sign in the waiting room, or the fact that the person who picks up Lilo is the same girl who threw Sly out of the window?

I love this game! It's so much fun to try and solve all of their problems without help, and even the wrong results are sometimes fun to see. However, I got a bit creeped out when the picture started talking to sly about his libido... But over all it was a great game!

Reply

awww that was so sweet

Reply

I wasn't sure what to expect, but that was great. You really do develope a connection to the little toys. The variations you could get were surprising as well. I had a couple slip back a few notches in treatment due to poor choices on my part, though I can't say I ever let any of mine go into the red and the help was helpful without spoiling things too much. Dolly gave me the most trouble treatmentwise but nothing insurmountable. (One problem was that at one point, I had all options crossed out, might have been a game bug)

Kroko was probably my favorite. So cute...

BTW:

It's as I suspected, communication beats medicatoin. Out of all the sessions, I only had to use drugs twice, and I'm not sure the second case was needed but I did manage to upset Dolly pretty bad.
Oh, and Snake + Yoga = BAD idea. ;)

Reply

Whenever I try do choose Sly it says there's an error. i remember this happening like 2 years ago or whenever sly first appeared, and i was hoping it would have been fixed. is it a mac thing? the rest of them work. anyone else having this problem? any ideas?

Reply

For the people who dont want a walkthrough but need help, here are the patient's problems.

Cow-thingy- held answers to test in mouth
sheep- used as a dog-toy
croc- used as a mop-head
snake- held drugs in tail

Reply

kat:
Lilo is a HIPPO, not a cow-thingy!

Reply

Without using the "Professional Help" technique, I never would have finished this, as it would have been trial and error throughout. However, the point that was made before should be made again. This game, unlike probably any flash game I've played, really makes one feel something for the characters. It's very strange, and I found myself looking around the empty room to make sure no one was around to see me saying "awwww" to a computer monitor. Great game, though, and I like the idea of multiple endings, and alternate paths.

On a side note, it's interesting to note that for those of us in the US, it's cheaper to buy the plush dolls from the European site than from this US-based "Schmancy" site. The mark-up on the US site is about $7 per animal, and domestic shipping is higher than necessary as well. I find it hard to believe that shipping ½ pound domestically costs $9. In the end, I found it was cheapest to get either all four from the European site, or, if all four aren't available there, get three from there and one from the US site.

Reply

By the by, has anyone figured out the way to get into the negative (red) progress with all of the animals? I got there with Lilo and Kroko, but not the others.

Reply

Awesome game, but AAGH! I cured all the animals, but what do I get? An empty waiting room? Not much of an ending to me. If they just wrote a decent ending, this game would be the closest to perfect I have ever seen. If anyone wants a walkthrough, post.

Reply

I think the reason all you get is an empty room when you finish is because they're adding more animals in the future, seeing as how they added the snake after they put out the game, I think they are adding more throughout the game.
Personally, I hope they do it that way. Or else the game would be really boring to play again with the same animals.

Reply

What a sweetheart of a game. Poor little guys, made me want to kick their owners. I had the most trouble with Lilo, almost lost him, but brought him back with double doses of talk and dreams.

A winner Jay!! Thanks!

Reply

Need walkthrough awesome game.

Reply

loved the game but it took quite a while for me to figure out it all. I wasn't able to avoid electrocuting my animals at least once (which means starting over from the beginning) but it seems like every time that happens you get a little more info. The toughest one for me was Lilo.

I wished there was more to the ending rather than just being left with an empty room. Like, the nurse walking in to congratulate me or seeing the animals be adopted by more loving new owners.

Also, I didn't like how your progress is lost if you click on the door to the reception in the middle of the game. I already finished curing kroco, and I clicked on the door, and then I have to cure kroco from the beginning. sucks. I wished there was a saving feature.

I agree that it should've been made clear that the "professional advice" feature is essential to solving the game. But perhaps that's part of the trial-and-error process. In any case, there are occasions where the professional advice was so vague that it didn't help.

Also, I might just be really dumb, but I didn't really understand what happened to the animals...

but that doesn't change the situation or give me further options. I've literally tried everything, and I've done this one thing multiple times. What is up with this? Anyone have any thoughts?

Reply

Tom - this game really isn't amenable to a walk through. You just have to keep trying different types of treatments. although i will tell you

using the electroshock under the bed seems to reset them to close to the state they were in at first and use the drugs, but use them sparingly, as some of the animals get wacky if they get too much

Golly, that might be one of the best, deepest, most expansive Flash games I've ever had the pleasure to play. Between that and the Grow games this is a Golden Age for Flash.
I don't think it's the kinda game that you could write a walk-through for, though. Just a lot of trial and error. And heed the tips listed above: avoid shock therapy, lots of dream analysis, and use drugs sparingly if at all.

Reply

I did kroko, i feel so sorry for him like evryone elese, weird how this game does that.

Reply

i just found out what was wrong with kroko it was so sad, this game is very touching somehow.

Reply

This is a unique presentation. As tonypa and other pointed out earlier, it evokes emotions unlike any other game I can recollect. Lilo made me laugh out loud. You are put in a position to help someone, rather than destroy or score more points than them. Yet you feel a sense of accomplishment when they are "cured" :-) Cool stuff. I'd like to see more games like this. I still like my shmups best but this was a nice grounding diversion.

Reply

i love the game!!! and i cant wait for a new animal!!! i was thinking a turtle or something....i don't know. i love Kroko and dolly <3<3<3

Reply

Awesome game, pretty trippy, but not the kind of thing you want to play at 4 AM, though.
It reminds me of the time I stayed up for 3 days straight and then chugged a caffeine drink...
Except the game was a lot more coherent.
Or when you've just had too much sugar.

Loved the game, obsessed over it, and it was very, very well made.

I know it's been said before, but the only downside is curing them all and walking outside, and all you get is an empty waiting room.

Reply

lol, that was cute ^0^ I think Sly was the hardest to cure (or maybe I was just not lucky, picking the wrong therapy over and over again). And never thought he would be cured THAT way :))

Reply

Woah! There's a new stuffed critter to play as: a turtle or tortise with a skipping rope! I gotta help that guy out.

Reply

Whoops: the tortise won't be available for treatment until the end of this month. This game must have a public health care system.

Reply

Wow! That was so cute, I don't think I've ever played a game that touchingly composed before.

My favorite was Dolly, then Sly.

Although my favorite part was Sly's

Freud encounter.

There's a turtle in the waiting room who isn't treatable yet, but it says he will be when November ends. I'm looking forward to coming back.

Reply

I was replaying and eventually failed so badly with Lilo that I wasn't allowed to treat her anymore. Has this happened with any other animals?

Reply

Yes. With each patient, there is a way to screw them up so badly that the doctor must resort to electroshock therapy.
That is generally considered a bad thing, though.

As it turns out, the tortoise's name is Dub, and is compulsively hyperactive. Someone should make an update referring to him. He needs all the help he can get.

Reply

You can treat the turtle now. I'm still working on him - but i have to say - so cute and touching so far. I love this game.

After that i went through each option twice, then left him sitting while i took a phone call, then tried dream analysis again, and he was fixed.

i think the professional opinion says he needs some time to accept his loss, so maybe you just need him to wait for a while?

Try DREAM ANALYSIS again...He lost his flute ;_;

O.O.. What is the therapist/hand doing when she/it is squeezing the snake's rattle? Something

innapropriate?

For those stuck on Dub:

When he is crying at the end, and none of the options are helping, wait for him to run out of tissues.
Then click on Dream Analysis. Choosing any other option will get him a new box of tissues, and you will have to wait all over again.

After he recovers, does Sly

go back to his previous owners? When he exits the hospital, you can hear the music that plays in his dream sequence.

Oh my goodness, I love this game. All of the stuffed animals are adorable- my personal favorite is Sly, and then Kroko, and then the raven (forgot his name-haven't played in a while). This game took a lot of thinking andit was fun to see all the reactions to the wrong things (which I saw quite a lot XD ).

Love it! :)
