Pudding, marbles, fingerprints, and soda are just a few of the things you'll need to escape Yonashi's weird but cool Yonashi Escape 17, where you'll definitely need to think outside the box and experiment a little if you want to make any progress. The cursor will change whenever it passes over something you can interact with, but otherwise you'll be given no real help at all, so it's up to you to figure out how to use the frequently very odd assortment of items in each room in order to open the doors to move forward. As strange as Yonashi Escape 17 is, however, a lot of it actually makes its own sort of sense in context, so nothing is ever really unintuitive or illogical. It's still not particularly long or difficult, but it still manages to capture that feeling of tactile exploration and wonder in a way that more straightforward and "serious" escapes don't really have, making the "ah-ha!" moments rewarding. It's silly, sweet, and more than a little cute, make it a great break-sized escape for players who like their games whimsical and weird.

Yonashi Escape 17 Walkthrough

Room 1

Start off by grabbing the empty bottle.

Zoom in on it in your inventory and click to squash it.

Now click on the right table and grab the brush and the marble.

Go over to the other table and shake the soda bottle.

Examine the print and head over to the jellies. If you click on each one, you’ll notice that the green jelly moves up and down, while the other one moves sideways.

According to the print from the table the pattern for the door should be: right, down, down, right, right, down, right.

Room 2

Head over to the screen on your right and click on it.

Notice the sequence in which the fingers disappear.

This is the pattern for the dashboard on the other wall: pinky, index, ring finger, middle finger, thumb.

Grab some scotch tape and put powder on the brush.

Now head over to the table and use the brush and the scotch tape to get the fingerprint.

Use it to open the first lock.

Zoom in on the fingerprint and you’ll notice the number “352”. This is the pattern for the second lock.

Room 3

Open the honey on the ground and grab some of it.

Click on the bubble wrap twice and you’ll get the number “712”.

Go to the bars and give the little bears the honey.

Now that the bars are down, head over to the cell and enter the number from the bubble wrap.

Go to the “Open” sign and use the brush on the “O” to get to the next room.

Room 4

Click on the trash can and throw the squashed bottle at it.

Pick up the pink marble and give it to the cat.

Once it’s gone, open the box and grab the paw.

Use it for the first lock.

For the 2nd lock, notice where the cat’s head and tail are positioned.

The numbers in the four corners indicate the cat’s paws. The numbers from 1 to 6 are all present. This is the sequence for the buttons: top left, bottom right, top left, top right, bottom left and top right.

Click on the cat so it will turn over and notice the black marks on its paws. The pattern for the second lock will be 4-1-4-2-3-2.

Room 5

Go over to the right wall and grab the half ball.

If you zoom in on it, you’ll see the number “659”.

Considering that we’re missing the other half of the ball, the pattern for the box on the left wall would be a mirrored “659”: reverse 9 – 2 – reverse 6. Put the two pieces together to get the last ball.

Use the scalper and the white paint on the egg.

The symbols on the egg represent the map of each room.

Plant the marbles to the respective room (blue – 1st, wooden – 2nd, pink – 3rd and brown – 4th) you found them in and your way out is open.

2nd lock with the different hands, please? Can't think of what I'm missing.

Check your inventory?

I'm stuck on the second lock in the cat room, the one with the numbers in the corners. Pretty sure I've tried every combination I can think of by assigning a button to a corner, but I must be looking at it the wrong way. Help?

Callidy - have you

taken a close look at the cats paws, toes?

then

think of the orientation of each colored toe

Ever done a

wobbly picture puzzle in an escape game?

Fun! Took me a minute to figure out what they were asking for in the last puzzle.

I caught the

wobbly picture puzzle

reference, but

I was too busy giving the cat belly rubs to catch the different colored toes.

Thanks!

Took me a while on the last room. For the safe,

What would the "mirror" image of the other ball half look like?

What is a wobbly picture puzzle?? And how does it apply to the cat?

If you're stuck in the first room

there's more you can do with the soda bottle than just click on it over and over.

Hold down the mouse to really shake it up

The cat

Yikes, that is a complex puzzle.

Notice the cat head and tail on the pedestal with the 4 buttons.

Notice where the real cat's head and tail are.

Mentally (or on paper) place the numbers from the pedestal on the cat's paws. The front paws are, bottom to top, 13 and 46, and the rear paws are, bottom to top, 5 and 2.

Notice which toe is marked differently.

Write down the toe number for each of the 1-6 numbers. For example, write down "4" for number 1.

4 1 4 2 3 2

Aha-through

Starting scene

Soda can behave "funny"

if you grab it and shake a few times

Second lock

DO examine the fingerprint

By the cage

Hey, it's Bubble wrap! Pops!

The cat

Don't you have some thrash for the can?

Cat like bouncy

Head - pAws - tail

Egg

The safe:

How would your halve print?

The symbols:

It's a trap!

(sorry, not trap. Map.)

Thank you for that. It took me FAR too long to realise

You're meant to put the round things IN the round shapes on the egg, not just sit there trying to figure out some elaborate "the exit is hidden in this part of the scene" clue.

Honestly, it's a wonder why I keep trying to play escape games.

If I knew how to make games, I'd make escape games where instead of finding a screw driver to remove a panel for the next elaborate puzzle, the player could use the screwdriver to remove the lock on the locked door and escape. Or something like that.

Before you climb the ladder to escape, walk back to check what the animals are doing :-)
