Contrary to a rumor started around the JIG office espresso machine, I do not spend all my evenings huddled up around the blue-white illumination of my laptop, empty take-out boxes strewn along the counter and a meowing band of cats my only company. I mean, alright, maybe in theory it's possible that could have happened. In the realm of possibilities, anything could be possible yet it's best to remember: Rumors spread rapidly on social networks. Even if it sounds like a good idea or goes viral, getting bunches of likes, snoop around a bit before assuming its verity. But shoot, I won't get all rhetorical with ya when there are escape games waiting to be played. Since there's also much to be said for ignoring cynicism and letting your heart wear a great big smile for all the world to see. Having some fun and playing games always makes sense, and this Weekday Escape game trio is an actual thing happening right now...
Office Day - Maybe you remember Vitamin Hana from her first room so aptly titled Hana's Room 1? Office Day offers more of that straight-forward puzzling in a "cute and cheery" style to make sure you don't go out that door in a bad mood. Because, you know, nothing puts a cramp in your efforts to relax and enjoy than overly abstruse clues or boringly simple solutions. There's a good selection of puzzles to keep you busy through your lunch break, but it's too lightweight and quick to elicit deeper analysis. Even so, it has enough heart to it that no further explanations are needed.
Escape from the Three Colored Stars Room 3 - It has been while since Yomino Kagura was featured here on Weekday Escape. I don't have any better explanation for why that is than this, the same reason this particular game appears today: Yomino Kagura has a formula for well-built games, dependably logical in both clue presentation and code-heavy puzzles. That formula ensures a good experience, but it also leaves it feeling too routine. You know you can pick up and play Yomino Kagura anytime you crave an escape-the-room, but don't you want Yomino Kagura to break out of the box one of these days and surprise us?
Girls Room No.07: Perfume - The latest in FunkyLand's make-up series, a.k.a. "find the hidden cosmetics", still unabashedly stereotypes what defines girlhood. But then, they're not alone; there's plenty of girls out there who love perfumes, lipsticks and stuff. Assumptions and presumptions aside, there's much to love about this room. The presentation is whimsical and creative, and a spirit of fun prevails over any nitpicking. Clues need thoughtful interpretation, it takes diligent searching to find all five perfume bottles, and you'll be out too quickly to tire of the purple frills.
We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.
allll right! I'm the first one stuck!
In Office Day I can't figure out the
number code for the file drawer on the far right. The only numbers I can see are 4 1 7 3 6 on the objects outside the windows. I have tried 1736 -- all appear in the 2nd window and tried to organize them by height (3176). Have also tried 4173. All wrong wrong wrong.
What am I missing?
Did you notice the drawing of the houses on the file drawer above the key pad?
You have to put in the numbers you see outside the windows, from the green house to the yellow one.
So,
6 3 7 1 4
I was stuck too but then I noticed
I still had that yellow paper in my inventory. It's a clue for more than one thing.
Thanks, aur.joris! I was stuck at the same place as Spike 21. My mistake was in assuming that
the code would have to be 4 digits. ;)
Good for Vitamin Hana, shaking me up and showing me not to get stuck in escape game tropes!
Oooh, Office Day was great! Good mix of puzzles, and all really logical. It was interesting to see Girl's Room have a bit of a different puzzle, the opening one had my scratching my head for a bit! All pretty simple after that, but it was nice to see something new from them.
Hello
Stuck on Office Day. Unable to find a tape or somethig like in order to repair the eectric wire.
Just a clue, please ?
@ERIC
Check above the elevator and the space between K and Y (lower)
Took me ages to find where the lightbulb goes.
In the second room, follow the cord
to the middle of the ceiling
Office Day was the fastest least problematic one I have played in a long time. My guess as to why others had problems with it is they were looking for things harder than they were.
