It was a dark and stormy Wednesday in October, wind rattling the shutters and the dilapidated boards of the ersatz roof which offered no shelter inside the JIG offices from the elements threatening to ruin it all. Flicking the light switch repeatedly had no effect—dark loomed on all sides. In the corner, I could see the opening of Selfdefiant's scary dungeon, but knew already of the trap that lie there in wait. Tired from my travails through a minimalist maze of Hottategoya's making, I just wanted some candy. Sure, FunkyLand promised that once more, but my brain was in no shape for solving puzzles. Instead, I felt my way through the darkness until my hands touched on exactly what I needed: the smooth feel of a platinum blonde wig and the cool chiffon of a long, sparkling ice blue dress. Maybe I can't sing, but I can try looking the part. By the way, happy Trick-or-Treating, my ghoulies! Here's a handful of escape games to get you started...
Scary Dungeon Escape - Get into the Halloween vibe with this quick escape from Selfdefiant. While the cursor changes sometimes, it doesn't always, so be on the lookout for items that might prove useful to your escape as well as suspicious areas that could reveal clues. Being more cute than horrifying, though, your time in this dungeon won't last long if you can collect and make use your inventory while solving a few puzzles. The key to freedom: three gemstones placed just right. The payoff at the end should bring a smile, making for a fun preview of the weekend shenanigans.
Escape from the Similar Rooms 14 - Some folks might say this dungeonesque grouping of very like-looking rooms are the fixings for many a nightmare: you know the one where you're trying to escape from impending doom, but no matter how far you run, you can make no progress? It will take some keen eyesight and skillful navigation to find all the visual clues hidden within the fixtures of these rooms, but once you've made out what the clue is telling you, interpreting it into solutions should be the easy part. Typical of Hottategoya, with a minimalist design and a trio of puzzles: once again gather three gemstones, put them in place, and you're free to go!
Candy Rooms No.17: Purple Girly - Eeeek! Lipstick, flowers and candies?! And it's all, like, purplish and stuff. Talk about frights. But at least FunkyLand knows how to take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew, cover it in chocolate... In the usual burst of whimsy we love about FunkyLand, No.17 in this sweet series won't disappoint but it's not much for surprises, either. Some of these tricks you've seen before, making the collection of five treats a quicker endeavor than usual. It's hard to complain, though. The only thing making it better would be the delivery of actual candy to my door. (Hint, hint.)

Escape from the Similar Rooms 14 Walkthrough
Getting your bearings
There are four rooms, laid out in the shape of a T. You start off in what I will refer to as Room 2, facing the exit.
Take a look at the panel by the exit door. Looks like you need three gems to escape. These correspond nicely to the three puzzles you'll need to solve.
Turn around 180 degrees, so that you can see a bookcase on your left and a bed on your right. Now Room 3 will be to your left (bookcase side), Room 1 will be to your right (bed side), and Room 4 will be straight ahead of you. So Rooms 1, 2, and 3 form the top of the T, and Room 4 is its stem. Easy enough!
The pentagon puzzle
This is the puzzle you'll need to solve to open the box in Room 1. Looks like you need a numeric code.
You'll need a written clue for this, which is the only inventory item you need to find apart from the three gems. Take a good look around all of the rooms.
The clue is under the bed in Room 3.
Does that shape remind you of anything else you've seen?
The bookcases! But not just any bookcase: only one of them is a perfect match for the drawing.
The bookcase in Room 4 is the only one with ten shelves as opposed to nine.
Follow the orientation of the arrows on the clue to read the code that's hidden in the pattern of the books.
The code is 790. Enter it into the box in Room 1 and take the blue pentagon gem.
The triangle puzzle
This is the puzzle you'll need to solve to open the box in Room 3. This time the code is a sequence of six shapes (circle, diamond, and square).
A triangle like the one on the box marks the location of the clue. Again, take a good look around, and keep the number six in mind.
Take a closer look at the barred doorways.
There's a triangle marked on the floor behind one of the doorways in Room 1! It's the doorway between the bookshelf and the bed.
The shapes of the bars form the code you'll need for the box in Room 3.
Make sure you've reversed the code so that it matches the orientation of the triangle: circle, square, circle, diamond, circle, square. Take the red triangle gem.
The diamond puzzle
This is the puzzle you'll need to solve to open the box in Room 4: another three-digit code.
The shape on the box looks a bit like a diamond, but perhaps it also reminds you of something else?
The panel has the same layout as the rooms: the diamond shape itself is Room 2, with Room 1 to the left, Room 3 to the right, and Room 4 at the bottom.
Looks like you'll need to find something in each room that corresponds to a unique digit.
This time it's the beds that point the way.
Specifically, the number of vertical bars at the head of each bed.
The code is 7 on the left, 6 on the right, 3 on the bottom. Take the green diamond gem.
You know what to do now, right?
