Following on the success that Arseniy Shklyaev enjoyed with his two previous action puzzle games, Orbox and Orbox B, his latest game is a rather odd combination of action and puzzle elements that will challenge both sides of your brain.
The objective of Warp Forest is to collect all of the keys to activate the exit, and then make it safely to the exit to advance to the next puzzle/level.
Take control of the vehicle that can move using the arrow keys. You may also press [D] to straighten the car onto the closest horizontal, vertical, or diagonal path. Look for special deformed trees and treasure boxes that hide additional power-ups. Press [A] to fire the car's laser to reveal the hidden items. Move the car over the item to collect it. Press [S] to fire the special charges picked up.
You will also find keycards that open locked doors, though some keycards are single use, which means you will need a keycard each time through; while others remain unlocked once you have the keycard. There are other subtle differences between items that you get acquainted with as you go.
Analysis: The game offers exceptional level design for a unique and original puzzle experience that seems to be just about right in terms of difficulty level for a casual game audience. Some may be put off by having to control the car around the screen, and yet it does add a layer of depth to the gameplay when the alien animals begin to give chase or fire back. While Warp Forest is not quite as compelling as the Orbox games, it does offer an entirely different kind of experience, which is refreshing. The graphics look nice and the background music, although the same for each level, was actually pleasant to listen to even after playing through several levels. Thankfully the sound effects and music can be controlled independently via the main menu. Another welcome feature is multiple save slots with which to save your progress so the game may be picked up where you left off in a later session. Decent, unique, and fun, give Warp Forest a try. You will be glad you did.

If you just poke your nose out a bit then jump back he'll fire at you. If you then zoom past straightaway then his second shot will be too slow to catch you.
You have to just [put ur nose in, then reverse, and he shot kills the monster!

Level 13 has me stumped on the timing of luring the spider a bit, but otherwise a great find.

sometimes a short nip forwards almost half a square and then reverse is needed to "tease" monsters into firing or moving towards you!
Sort of "Live Bait", but be very quick to reverse!
you don't have anything to shoot the grey/green bunny but someone else might be able to do it for you...
PS help on the second firing would be much appreciated!

Either ust barely edge into the square then back out straight away, or just drive straight through. That things shoots bullets that are slow enough to do that.

Open the gate as you are doing, then step back just after the pink monster has fired, thus killing the other monster on the left hand side.

- Killed the grey dude with the accessible shot
- Provoked the spider into standing in the bottom keycard doorway
- Went around to the other keycard door, but...

Ok.......needing help on level 6..... I run outta bullets... how can I kill the eyeball guy and have enough left over to kill the guy in the bottom left to get the last key? They gimme 4 shots but by my count I need 5.

Totally stuck on level 13. Help?
On 12:
After you have the top guy kill the spider and get the two shots, line up USING YOUR A GUN so that you can shoot the bottom guy from up above where the top guy can shoot you. When you can hit him with your A gun, use your two S shots to kill him. Then peek forward so the top guy shoots at you and you can back out quickly - as long as that first shot it on the screen HE CAN'T SHOOT AGAIN. So tease him into shooting, quickly back up, and then run down below him real quick before he can shoot again. Since you've already killed the bottom guy, you're safe down there and you can go out the right hand side and around to the exit.
On level 12:
Use a long range diagonal shot to take out the lower gargoyle (once the spider is dead).
What do you notice about the firing pattern/rate of the upper red gargoyle?
Only one 'shot' can be on the screen at a time.
Nose in, get the upper red gargoyle to fire, back out quickly, and then rush in quickly before it can fire again.

And my hypothesis for level 13 is:
that you need to use shields for middle gargoyle, run across the first one so that you don't waste your shileds there. But then, how you to open the gate?
What I did for level 13:
Get the shields, weapon, and keycard.
Use the shields to kill the top gargoyle/rabbit/dinosaur thing.
Open the door and move out of the way quickly, you want the spider to only move down one space.
From outside the left door, get the spider to move left a bit.
Go back in through the bottom door, get the weapons, kill the spider.
Get key, exit to left.
.and that works for me..... on to 14!!
14 was easy enough.....15 is little bugger though innit?

15 took me a little while too. I kept thinking the wrong way. It takes a bit of the old taunt and back up fast fingers too.
Here's a hint that might help:
If you can get the keycard and weapon, but still can't solve it, you're probably trying to kill the wrong thing.

20 is hard... I can nearly do it - I can get rid of everything except the spider and the left eye thing, and get all the keys, but then I'm stuck...
19:
- quickly grab the lower shield, but don't get hit. Go to the left, through the door, grab the key and go back to the start. Then unlock the door with the trees behind it, grab the guns and shoot the lower eye thing. Then grab the key and the chest on the right.
Go back to the start and head up and through the last door. Go all the way to the left and grab the key, your last shield should protect you. Finally, go back to the middle, nudge your car out so that the eye thing shoots, pull back then run to the exit before it can shoot again.
Hope that helps - if anyone can do 20, help would be nice :)

I was thinking abot how to get to him to kill him. I keep sacraficing that last shield to move the bottom spider and I don't see a way to get it and if I manage to get the key , the top spider whacks me before I get back..... sigh

The problem is that the same startegy does not work every time and then you have to start the level once again. With the spiders I found out:
Sometimes you manage to pass the spider if there's two square between you and the spider, and enough roud ahead, but then sometimes it does not work. Really annoying :(
Oh sorry squeedo, I thought you were talking about level 15. Yes I have hard time with the spiders on level 16 too.
still don't get level 12... how do you kill the spider? the dragon shoots only when I pass, not when the spider passes...

For level 20:
Referring to this image, follow the following directions:
Go to spot 1, lure spider to spot A
Go to spot 2 (do not move spider or get hit by dragon)
Lure the spider to spot B
Pass by spot 3, making sure the dragon gets killed by the eye.
Head towards and loot area 4 (The spider should move to spot C)
Shoot the eye just below spot 5, then stand in spot 5 until it dies by shield.
Go to spot 6
Go to spot 7, getting the keys and killing the middle eye.
Lure the spider to spot D
Head back to the finish the same way you came. (your last shield will be used up right by spot 2)
@Tiralmo: I managed to have 1 shield left at the end by doing it another way, but nice diagram :)

Okay, as soon as I posted that I figured it out on my own. They key for me was:
Figuring out that you need to use the three round shields to kill the eyeball guy - the three shots must be saved for something else.

ok, i've beaten the first red dud in lv 5, but how do i beat the second one (and get the second cardkey)?
I finally got lvl 21 :
1st : shoot the 3 chests on the upper right and then shoot the bottom red tree. You should do this from a distance to avoid being hit.
Then take the 3 shields and go to the top of the screen. You must avoid the bottom eye-thing shoots. The top eye-thing will die from his own blows.
Take the ammo quickly before it disappear and get the other one as well. Return to the bottom of the screen. Kill the green monster, take the pass and the 3 shields
Next you must open the gate without being hit (you can do it from the square just below, advance a little and turn till it opens)
Make the bottom monster and the eye-thing shoot at each other, the latter will remain alive. Now shoot your last bullet at one of the red dragons, and race past them.
Get the key and exit while avoiding the impotent shots of your last foe

I'm slightly confused at level 13...I love game, but I can't seem to find any deflectors to kill the gargoyles. I can get rid of the spider fine, get the two shots, but there are no deflectors that I can see :/

I can get all 8 right-hand keys by using the shield in the chest beside them to rebound a shot from the bugeyed things. But then I'm stuck... is there a way of saving it to hit the pink monster instead? Or is there another solution?

OK, I'm the only one stuck on level 7? I've killed everyone and gotten all the keys etc - no more trees to shoot, nothing to do, but the Exit's still not active. Either I've missed something or there's a bug in the program?
Level 12
lure the spider up to be shot. Get the two bullets then shoot the lower of the bunnies(use normal bullets to check your aim). Then get ready for a quick dash acros the gap. but hold your horses, tempt a bullet from the bunny and then reverse, then quickly forward again after the bullet passes.
...had to sleep on that one.
Lvl 16 isnt that hard when you realise:
You can go in and out to get the left key before the spider reaches you
and
You can get the lower 3 boxes at the same time when u use 1 blue shot on the spider. The shot will hold the spider off for a very short moment, but enough to grap the shield
now you only have to
use 3 shields on the eye-shooter, and the remaining shot at the lowest spider you have shot allready.
BUT
In order to get back to the exit, the spider that moves when you go to the left should have moved only 1 square, because when it moved 2 its on the same line as the exit and the door you will come through.
I think more ways are possible, but this is how it worked for me.

If a spider goes over a key -- the key disappears! I guess the spiders like metal...

Got past level 22
It's all about timing. Notice how the dragons and the eye kill the ones in front of them.
Collect all of the shields as you work your way to the bottom row. You need to dodge the fire to collect the two shots and save your shields to take out the bottom dragon. After making to the bottom row, position yourself to take out the eye and get the key. Then rush past the remaining dragons to get back to the exit.
Ok -- I could use some help on level 27...
It seems odd that you would get 3 shields. You'll only need one with the eye cannon. I've been able to use one shield to bounce a dragon ray back -- allowing the other dragon to kill its counterpart. I then used the single dragon to kill the spider. But I'm still stuck with the single dragon. So that must be wrong.
Where can I store the spiders? I can free the first two -- but not the third or the one in the corner. Any ideas?
Can anyone advise on level 23? I'm just not getting it.

My suggestion for Level 27:
Forget going for the shields. Jet in and out between the first set of dragons so they zap each other. Then lure the first spider out and down behind the bush that's standing alone. Then move up to the next row and repeat, this time trying to lure the second spider to another row. I have managed to do this and get the key, but I can't figure out how to place the spiders in such a way that allows me to pass by them unscathed.

Step by step for the nice little level 29
(My personal worst nightmare)
- Get out by gate on the right and then pickup the shield and ammo in the two boxes over the field of keys.
Procedure:
Positioning yourself left of the boxes, shoot them up both and make a pause in the forward motion to reach the shield and the ammo (a fraction of a second). The distance should be minimal and the movement should be immediately followed by an uninterrupted backup.
- Kill the pink dragon using the shield and ammo through the upper gate and harvest his land...
Simulating a first approach will delay his second fire and give you more time to position.
- Lure the spider to the left and get the second shield.
- Now for the real fun. Get the 8 keys.
Procedure:
Initial position is on the bottom fourth row from the top, facing East (I find it better when the car is slightly overlapping the fifth row). Start with a straight direction (horizontal to the right for the first 2 keys) and on the third key initiate a left U-turn to get back. This should cover all the remaining keys with the loss of your last shield in the turn.
This one needs rehearsal but it CAN be done.

To complete level 23
first you have to shoot the chest and get the shield, then go up use the nose poking trick to get past the first red thingy,then(this requires timing),go to the top door and go through it quickly, it will close behind you before the trees shot reaches you. Then go down through the door and go to the red monster thing. use the nose poking thing on it and quickly follow the shot it shoots into the centre space.
get the shield in the chest and quickly get out of the space you will use your shield in the process.
Collect the final key and go through the open door to the exit! *phew*
Level 23:
You can pass the left "rabbit" without being hit. Just go a little bit in, then out, and then back in.
The top key should be taken from the right gates. You will lose one shield

Level 27 walkthrough;
Number the squares inbetween the dragons 1-5 from LEFT to RIGHT, and the dragons 1-6 from BOTTOM LEFT to TOP RIGHT.

Get the key, open the door and lure the spider down under the bush. Collect the shields and line yourself up on square 2. Move up and let dragon 1 hit you, itll bounce back, then he'll be hit by dragon 2. Dragon 1 will die, use dragon 2 to kill the spider.

Now you've only got dragons 2-6 and 3 spiders (one at the bottom, 2 still in place).
Time dragon 2's shot and run up, making dragon 3 and 4 kill each other. Time it again to lure the spider out 1 square, then down into dragon 2s line of sight... the rest is easy from then on.

Level 30 is VERY easy!!!
Move forward 1 square, let the top centre guy shoot at you 3 times until all the boxes in his sight are broken. Run forward, collect the first to then run at the guy on the left. Youll be hit once from the top guy, then once from the left, then twice more by the left guy after getting his 2 shields.
Now the part that stumped me ALL night!! Don't forget you can shoot the boxes! Travel around collecting all the ones you can tell the monsters wont open for you!
Like a dumbass I spent all night on this one when it only takes 2mins with a clear head!
Infact I just finished it with 4 extra shields.
I'm completely stuck on 14.
I can do one of two things - use the shield to block the top trees' beams and get to the right side, or block the bottom trees' beams and get to the bottom.
The bottom tree seems to take me nowhere except a chest which I STILL haven't gotten the treasure from. If I go right, I get a shield, get the S shots and go past the two bunnies/raptors/things, and they both die. But from there, if I try and kill the top tree I still can't get the treasure the bottom is guarding, and I still haven't found out how to get the S shots from the trees in the middle of the two trees. Any hints you can give me?
Also, Typekey isn't letting me sign in. :( Any ideas why?

Hey!!! I finally got 15!!!!
First,
Go to the left and take the key and the shot.
Then,
use the key to go back inside, kill the monster at the right to leave doors opened
align the spider to the entrance of the top door, go to the bottom and attract it to the EXIT spot (don't use the doors)
attract the spider to the right side of screen and leave it there. Get the key and you are free!

Finally got lvl 24! Here are a couple of tricks:
get the shields up top using the sneak-n-steal move. Get the one on the left, then go behind the kanga while they all shoot at you in vain, then sneak the second shield from the right side.
Move the spider over in front of the top eye-thing. Then cross back to the other side. You should have two shields.
Here's the move that breaks the level open:
You want to cross over to the left side to get to the bottom of the screen. Before you do that, bring the spider to the left one square. You'll use him for defense later.

How do you beat Level 9? It's the one where there is an eye tree in this section. Once you go in the section, the gate closes. There are two shields and the pass thing to open the gate. The two keys are in the section with the eye tree. Thanks for the help!
Hit a roadblock on lvl 26. It looks impossible. Little help? What should I kill?

Get the gate switch
You do not need to open the gate at the bottom left or get the shields
Dart in and out to kill the first 2 fire breathers
bring the spider out 1 square and then down to the 3rd square from bottom
Dart in and out to kill the next 2 fire breathers
bring the spider out 2 squares and down next to the first spider. they should be side by side between the trees.
Dart in and out to kill the next 2 fire breathers
Bring the last spider out 5 spaces and up 2.
You should now be able to drive in and get the key, use the switch to get back and drive down to the exit. Drive carefully and quick.

Hi, Jay. First time-poster, long-time user of this cliche. This game sounds awesome, but for some reason, on my computer, it only loads the Newgrounds sponsor screen and then stops. Am I missing something? I tried it with both IE and Firefox.
Hi Deloth - I'm not having the same trouble. Do you have the latest Flash Player installed? This game is likely to require Flash 8. Other than that, I'm not sure what to suggest. Sorry. =/
'Salright, Jay. I'll try updating Flash, but my computer might just be trying to keep me away from cool games, since World of Sand doesn't work either. Bizzare.
Well, World of Sand is another matter entirely, as it was created using Processing, so an install of Java is required to play that one.
Well, as it turns out, it works after a restart. Probably should have tried that before, but...Anyways, thanks, Jay. I love the site and I've recommended it to a lot of people.
Level 22
Mine's different from Jackdan
Stop one box under each weapon tree and shoot up to collect the weapons. For some reason the dragons won't shoot at the backpacks.
Move in and out of the top row to let the eye destroy the dragons and open the backpack.
Here's where you have to be quick and coordinated: quickly pick up the top shield, fire at the eye, and move back behind the trees. The eye will have taken one hit from you and one bounced off your shield.
Then move quickly into the top row, fire at the eye again and move back behind the trees. The eye will be destroyed. (It took me ten tries to get those last two moves down!)
Then shoot the second backpack, get the shield and retreat to the top row.
Do the same with the third backpack.
Avoid the fire from the top dragons and head for the bottom row where your shields will destroy the dragon.
Get the key, avoid the dragon shots and exit

I can't get past level 9, been trying for days!!!!! I can't get the second shield to blast the eye thing so I don't get shot before I get through the gate. Does it have something to do with luring the spider over to get blasted so I can get the second shield? SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

For 9:
Go to where the spider is and get the key and the two shields (in the chests) while avoiding the spider. Then go over to near where you begin and drive staight up the path, the tree will shoot twice and both shots will bounce back and hit it. After the second shot has bounced back drive to the right off the path. Then shoot the tree and use the blast to kill the tree. You can then get the key and exit the level.

It's a tree maze, pretty easy. It might be challenging for novices, but I don't think many novices scroll to the bottom of the comments before playing, so...

Lassie . To get past level just go down ever so slightly. then when he shoots jump back before he hits you. then he will make a path for you by your left side on the sreen

Yeah, this is totally a rip off of adventures of lolo from the original nes - not that i'm complaining, since they're some of my favorite all-time games.
It seems like a lot of fun, but for older folks(40+) the reaction time needed just isn't there which turns it from a fun puzzle to an exercise in frustration.
i've won up to level 13.. but.. i can't save the levels.. why not?.. how do you save the level?

level 5 need help
What I did for level 13:
Get the shields, weapon, and keycard.
Use the shields to kill the top gargoyle/rabbit/dinosaur thing.
Open the door and move out of the way quickly, you want the spider to only move down one space.
From outside the left door, get the spider to move left a bit.
Go back in through the bottom door, get the weapons, kill the spider.
Get key, exit to left.

Here's how to beat level 12.
Lure the spider left as far as you can. Then lure it up so that it is in the direct line of fire of the red dragon thing
Inch your car into the line of fire and then back out again twice to kill the spider.
Open the chests and collect the special shots. Kill the lower dragon (the one that didn't shoot the spider)
Again, make the top dragon shoot, but this time drive forward as soon as the shot goes past you. The dragon will not be able to shoot you in time. Collect the keys and the door key and exit.
Level 14
Get the middle chest first. Use this to rebound the top killer tree's shot. Get the next chest to the right. Shoot the tree to get your shot and let the tree kill the raptors. Go around the bottom and access the last chest on the left while being shielded. Get your shots and kill 'em all!
Level 17
Spider is your friend... Spiders block the kill trees. Exit left and grab the gold key. Go down, and lure the spider to the lower left of the killer tree. Go to the top and lure the spider up one so it is block the tree from the path. Get the door key, get the shields and kill the tree while evading the spider.
Please help!! Can't get pass level 12!!

im stuck on lvl 8
for level 6;
you have to save the 3 blue shots to kill the middle eye, then pass through the right side and get 2 more blue shots to kill the thing at the bottom left=the thing that's guarding the key
