Sanpoman's escape game Tulip Garden will have you going in circles and finding new ways to look at things as you explore a very sneaky garden and house looking for the clues to solve the puzzles that will let you find a way out. To play, just click to interact, and the cursor will change when you pass it over something you can click on. Though the text isn't in English, you'll be able to solve this one just fine without speaking the lingo... as long as you have a keen eye for detail, of course. Despite a minorly clunky puzzle or two, Tulip Garden is largely surprisingly intuitive and clever, favouring observation and perception more than anything else. It doesn't hurt that it's cute either, making it a fantastic cheery break from whatever your day brings you.

I'm stuck fairly early on with
a blue key and a map.
notyourboddhisatva, check
the windows of the house
for a clue to
open the gate
This is my favorite kind of escape game -- it's clever, plays with perspective, and hides all kinds of surprises in a location that looks nothing like a living room. Thank you for posting this one today!
Sorry, not the
gate, the hatch in the ground.
If you have the
map, you already opened the gate.
White & green cabinet inside house with 4 squares on each door...
I tried every combo of the view I got from on top of the house looking down left & right, tried it upside down, inverted, etc. and I can't open that stinkin cupboard! RAWR!
@Corona: It was not a struggle at all for me.
The code is entered as you see it from the roof.
ACK! I can't find the yellow key for some odd reason.
@jswzz: Got it! Thanks!
Nevermind. Found the yellow key. >.
can't wait for this. by the way, i'm stuck on "scene Of The Crime: Golden Doll" if you go to the game, you'll see my problem. I hope you can help.
A few hints to get through:
To get started at all, click the left button.
There are more than one hint to be seen through the window.
Try to look from a steep angle!
On the roof
remember to look at the view! (sneaky one, there's no arrow to tell...)
The bottle
contains OIL
The yellow key
was once dropped from the bridge
So, the map seemed to correlate to
nothing in the environment at all. It wasn't quite the boxes, nor points where you could stand, nor puzzles, nor doors...
What purpose did it serve?
@ChairmanMUHC
Fast travel. I used it to teleport back to the house from the garden.
You could click a Red Check box on the map, then click the left writing and transport straight there ;)
Well now I thought I'd gotten through all the tricky parts, but I'm at the end and
putting the symbols onto the colors in the same order that they're on the wall near the blue hatch and the white & green cabinet
.
Did I miss something along the way that
told me to change the order?
Skarab,
Search the tunnel carefully.
Well, that was adorable.
It helped me to
go back through the tunnel from inside the house
because
there's something useful on the right side as you approach the other ladder
Nice one! It has enough in common with last year's Frog Lake Escape (which I liked enough to tackle for my very first walkthrough) that I soon realized the dev was one and the same. It turns out that he's released almost two dozen older games on top of those, which I'm looking forward to checking out.
That was awesome!
That was a lot of fun! I got through it without any hints (though I had to retrace my steps quite a few times).
nothing yet, huh? i'll come back later. by the way, I guess as no one can help on golden doll, i'll just forget that one, but the end is hard to complete. thanks :)
Cute little game.
But someone please tell me I'm not the only one who went through the underground tunnel several times because I didn't realize I could unlock the glass doors from inside?
When you finish the game you will see
that the map is a rough outline of the puzzle landscape.
For example the rectangle at the bottom is the
pink building.

P.S.: I hope this is enough for anyone to play the game... as writing a step-by-step walkthrough seems to long for this one.
P.S.: @Paul What is the golden doll?
I really liked this, I love big escape games! Minimal pixel hunting, more about finding the right perspective, and fun puzzles throughout.
Paul - this one is pretty big, so a walkthrough would be a long one to write, like bearharry said. If you need some additional guidance aside from the hints above, I did track down this video walkthrough (which I think might be easier to follow for an escape game this big): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozZkaoPVadg
bearharry, it's an mskutnik game. just type that in seach and you'll find it. and squiddly, video walkthroughs go too fast and it's hard to keep up but i'll try.
Oh cool. This is brilliant -- well executed, tough enough to be interesting without being impossible. I'll have to check out the dev's other work.
