The Guardian recommends JIG

JayGuardian names JIG one of 100 best sites for the coming yearThe Guardian (UK) has just published a list of the "100 top sites for the year ahead" and we're proud to report that JIG is included in that list, and we are one of just 5 gaming sites mentioned(!)

Say the Guardian folks, JIG is "passionate, well-designed and knowledgeable." Everyone here at JIG wishes to thank everyone at the Guardian for the kind words and kudos, and we'll do everything we can to make sure 2009 meets or exceeds expectations!

Also, a big shout-out and "Thank you!" to Jeff Tunnell — one of the co-founders of Garage Games and now working on new projects at Push-Button Labs — for naming JIG "favorite review site" in his 2008 Biggie Awards!

Thanks also to our ever-supportive and active JIG community that fuels the passion in us to keep doing what we do. :)

Congratulations Jay and team!

The game reviews have been getting better than ever lately (Psychotronics always make me laugh, SonicLover's always have a unique perspective, and JohnB and the rest are always thoughtful and informative), and so I am not surprised that you guys are picking up this new press :D

The only thing I could ask for now is another cgdc :)

Yay Jay & Co! You all are running a fabulous site, keep up the great work. No wonder you're getting good press :)

Good job guys, I have to say some of the other entries were rather uninspired though. One of the most vital comics for next year is Dilbert? That's been going for years and is in the newspaper itself. What about Dresden Kodak, Pictures for Sad Children or Thinkin' Lincoln?

So how to you play this Guardian game? I just end up with a page with lots of words on it. No flash anywhere. Ho hum....

I'm sad to see that the excellent Pandora isn't among their music site choices. JiG's inclusion makes up for that, though.

More well deserved kudos for JIG!

It would appear that the rest of the world is finally discovering what JIG regulars have know for some time.

Congratulations!

Congrats, JIG!!

That's awesome! congratulations. I think I've been coming to your site for over 2 years now, and you've continually provided great content.

Congratulations! You deserve all the good press! This is the best gaming site on the net, hands down. It's uncluttered, easy to navigate, and has the most interesting games and links. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this site just to give us a diversion from our stressful lives. I'm looking forward to what you'll offer in 2009. Anyway, today was a great Christmas gift, 2, yes 2, escape games added. And on top of that they were by Neutral and Pastel! Can't get much better than that!

Congatulations! Very much deserved. This is a great site.

Jay and team, you are without a doubt the best casual review site on the web. I've been reading for about 3 years and I'm still here, reading every day. Being in the Guardian proves this!

PS Escape the week has made the world a better place.

PS - The lovely felicia day of that very geeky but funny webseries "the guild", as well as other thins... also linked you on her twitter... but it is probably very sad that I know that.

How wouldn't they??

You guys are a must-read before playing or downloading a flash game! Always the source that let us know about the best games, with the best reviews.

WELL DONE and keep up with the good job! :)

Congrats as well...

My favourite paper, my favourite site, it's like seeing one of your best mates from home getting on really well with one of your best mates from work.

Actually I feel really left out now!

Have a great holiday break (actually I'll be needing you to carry on all the way through to Xmas eve if that's ok).

Oh and I second that call for a new cgdc
