Spring Celebration

TomaTea is known for one thing... serene colour palettes. And mellow instrumental soundtracks. And "I have no clue how to solve this!" And... okay, so for a lot of things, basically. Let's just say they make great escape games and move on to talking about Spring Celebration, which combines puzzles and pastels all in one pretty package. To play, just watch for the tip of your cursor to glow as it passes over things you can interact with, and carefully examine your environment for sneaky hidden clues you'll need to crack the puzzles on the various locks. Don't let the lute-ish soundtrack fool you... there're no castles and courts here, but there are a whole lot of sunny Easter-themed decorations, as if any of us needed a specific date as incentive to bite the ears off a chocolate bunny. Some objects you may find a little fiddly or unintuitive to interact with, as some of them have extra functions that aren't immediately apparent unless you click on them in a certain location, and you might likewise find yourself stymied at a point that doesn't make it obvious you need to drag something rather than merely click it. Still, TomaTea's talent for crafty puzzles whose clues take a little puzzling themselves is in fine form here, and apart from a few mildly awkward implementations, they offer a great variety in difficulty and concept, and the sweet presentation is just the cherry on top. If you love escape games that seem to invite you to relax even as they make you think, TomaTea's Spring Celebration is sunny and satisfying despite a few bumps along the way.

Spring Celebration Walkthrough

Bottom right drawer

Check the purple cards on the colored tables. Inside you’ll find eggs in different positions. This is the pattern for the bottom right drawer.

Bottom right middle drawer

On the colored tables, notice the shapes of the biscuits (red squares, green stars, etc.). Click on the cups to find out the position of each figure.

Bottom left, top drawer

Take a look at the blue rabbits above the bed. The position of each egg indicates a button. The pattern for the drawer will then be up-down-down-up-up.

Top left, right drawer.

Take a look at one of the cards on the tables. Mentally turn the word “EGGS” upside down and you get the number 5993 which is the pattern for the drawer.

Top left drawer

Use the chicken coin on the right black board. Below the top right drawer, you’ll notice a picture of a chicken. This is what has to be drawn on the board. Once you’re done, you’ll notice 7 yellow squares. This is the pattern to the top left drawer.

Right screen above the bed

Turn the rabbit’s hat upside down and use the scissors to get the Lilac coin. Use it on the right screen above the bed and put everything together.

Top right, left drawer

Take a look at the curtains on the windows. Their position is the pattern to the drawer.

Rabbit Coin

The rabbit coin can be found under the basket with the yellow egg.

Bottom left drawer

Once you have all the coins, turn them around and see which letter repeats in the word. Use the top drawer, in the bottom left corner to see each letter’s position. The pattern for the bottom left drawer will then be G-B-L-C.

Red Marker Pen

The red marker pen is located on the second shelf to the left, next to the chicken.

Coloring the rabbit

The rabbit should be painted blue, with its toes and nose red. The chicken should be yellow with orange neb and legs. Grass should be green, basket orange, egg purple and for the flower – yellow and orange.

Top right drawer

On the picture that had to be colored, click on the rabbit’s nose. Notice the sequence in which its toes flicker. This is the pattern for the top right drawer – top left x2, top right x2, bottom left, bottom right, bottom left, bottom right. Use the carrot on the rabbit to get the blue egg.

Eggs in order
Go to the picture puzzle (top right above the bed) and notice the colors of the little switches. On the wall with the door, between the two black boards, put the eggs in the same order to get the key and escape.

Why the rabbit needed to be colored blue, I'll never know.

Good tip on the item that needs to be dragged. Never would have tried that without the mention.

I haven't been able to solve the 4 letter puzzle. I have 4 coins and 3 eggs.

Stumped on the lower-left cabinet puzzle (4 letters). Have solved the 4 wall puzzles and have

3 eggs and 4 coins.

Great puzzle, needed that tip about the draggable item, tho'.

Agghhhh. I have the correct answer to the connect-the-line puzzle, but the drawer is refusing to open. I've even double-checked my answer against walkthroughs and it's correct. Am I missing a step or is this a bug?

Reply

Well, rats -- I was zipping along nicely and thought I might solve this one without a hint, but suddenly I has the dumb. I'm near the end -- I have

two eggs, three markers, and an eraser.

The only wall puzzle left is the coloring one. I'm pretty sure I know what color most things should be:

Grass = green
Inner petals = orange
Outer petals = yellow
Chick = yellow
Beak & feet = orange
Bunny = blue
Bunny nose & paws = purple

Egg = ????
Basket = ????

I thought perhaps red for the egg, because there's a red one standing upright on the shelf. For the basket, I have no idea -- all the baskets I've seen have been wicker, and there's no color combination that gives you brown (unless there's another marker hiding somewhere).

Also, is it my imagination, or do the tables under the five windows not touch the floor? Now that's IKEA level: expert, right there. ;-)

Billy-o, about the colors:

Look on the tables for the egg color. The bunny nose and paws should be red. And the basket (had to guess on this one) is orange.

Thanks, nerdypants! I had a suspicion about the egg, but had no idea about the other two you mentioned.

I know I must be missing something obvious - but how do you get the blue egg? I have everything else.

Some of those colors are a little bit "off" (not that it's always clear from the art in the game).

Bunny nose & paws: that's not quite right.
Egg: Look for four identical eggs, all the same color. (They're not the ones on the main bookshelf.)
Basket: It's true that you can't make brown (though if you're like me, you tried). What's the next closest color?

With the floating tables, I just figured they were attached to the wall. How very chic.

Sorry, had this thread open and forgot to refresh before commenting! Glad you figured it out.

Arkitecht:

The rabbit will only give you the blue egg in exchange for something else.

Have you opened the upper right cabinet yet?

If not, take another look at the coloring puzzle for a clue.

Please help me with the lower-left cabinet puzzle (4 letters): I have

the four coins and I see the words but I still can't figure out how to get the four letters right.

What am I missing?

O_O wow I feel dense. I've completed

the right hand cabinet and cut the coin from the bunny's hat

but that's it!

Well, finally realised you can

drag and drop the footstool in this game where you can drag and drop nothing else

and I got up to the right-hand cabinet on the left-hand side but i have no idea what to do with it.

I presume it has something to do with the little cards that give you the clues about the turny gold egg things but I have no idea what.

Reply

Can't figure out that four-letter cabinet on the left. I have the four coins and I've tried...

...the first letter of each in the order indicated by the right cabinet, the second letter of each in the same order (because each coin had the number 2 on it), and the first letter incremented twice up the alphabet (e.g. C+2=E) in that order.

Tenzhi:

Bit of a frustrating puzzle, right? Does it have you "seeing double"? ;)

I'm also stuck with the bottom left cabinet, but I have been unsuccessful in understanding the hint thus far provided. Like Tenzhi, I too have tried different combinations, assuming there is a significance and connection between

the number two on each coin and the order of the coins found in the top cabinet of the lower right section of the bookshelf.

Aaand never mind, I got it.

I kept trying to cross out the repeating letters of each word, not use them :p

What does the blue rabbit want from me for the egg? And how do I open the upper right cabinet?

cthuljew: see my hints to Arkitecht above.

Ah, I see. I haven't found the stuffed rabbit coin yet.

Answer

What letter do they have 2 of?
In the order indicated.

This one took me a while to figure out too.

Notice the orientation of the ribbon on the cabinet?

If that doesn't help:

Flip the card upside down, what does 'EGGS' look like from that perspective?
