A wonderfully bizarre and strangely fun Flash game by Jakub Dvorský of Amanita Design. Samorost is an adventure game that is full of clicky puzzles and beautifully rendered scenes mixed with animations and various gadgetry. The soundtrack is delightful with sound effects and music to fit the mood of the surrealistic adventure. It's not very long, but will keep you busy for just the right amount of time. It's quite large though, measuring 950 pixels wide by 750 pixels tall. Enjoy this masterpiece of creativity and interactive art.

O that's it, that's it! This is the game that I was talking about that one time.. where the little guy's trying to save his planet! hehe!

I know everyone's gotten out from the Crimson Room awhile back, but have you escaped the Viridian Room yet?

PS. Thanks for the comment Jay. [[[[HUGS]]]]

i really need some hints for samorost! i can't get past level 2!!!! please help me. i am close to tears, and haven't been out of y room for 7 days.

Do you mean the bit with the ski lift or the one after? The ski lift you get the pipe fella to smoke all his coal then use the pipe as a key move the slack string and start the lift. Move the goat and hey presto. Next screen press on the very bottom of the line - you may need to zoom in and scroll if the bottom of the screen isn't fitting on. Fend off the lizards and get the pterodactyl to take you onwards

Reply

i cant get passed the goats i moved the one made the others sing but the guy wont move PLEASE HELP

I'm having trouble playing this game on my 15" new iMac, since the window goes off the screen far enough to keep the fishing float from being visible, meaning my game is through there. Am I missing something? Or this game just to friggin' big? I LOVE the concept though.

Reply

Jhoka - the game requires a resolution of 950x750. Check the resolution that's set for your display, and increase it if possible. I'm sure the 15" iMac is capable of 1024x768, which should be just enough to display this game.

What music is being played in the scene where the capsule is hung on a limb, there are worms chewing and an owl is asleep on the limb, and the squirrel is listening to music. I would like to know the source of the music and titles.
Thanks

Yeah, this is a great game. it took me about 4 attempts first time but it's really not too hard once you get into it. THeir should be more games like this...

I get stuck on scene 5 even after reading above. It says to shift the music twice, but I can't find anything to shift. I have pressed the red button, but then I can't find anything else to do. Help

Rebe, do you mean with the owl? press the records underneath the player, and the thing there will switch it. change it until the owl wakes up, and then click the owl a few times =]

This game was wierd. I just dont get it? how did it take you four attempts? i didnt even realise you could die! I just clicked around and it changed scene. It was a bit slow too. Dont get me wrong it looked great, but i think it would be better in a gallery than as a game.

I'm stuck on scene 6... how to open elevator door..?

Reply

YUKIRO: hint- open the little box near the door. Can you put the lights of the boxes in same order that dots on door are..?

Reply

Easy Peasy! wow, i found it so easy i thought i was doing it wrong. Actually to be truthful, there was a point i thought i had died and would have to start all over again (like in Hapland 2). The bit where the ant eater ate me! The game is a little weird and it is short but i like it!!
Just keep clicking around and you'll get it (thats what i did).

I discovered Samorost when it first came out, by accident. I played it at least five times..lol I was thinking about the game recently, and many PC crashes later of course it was no longer in my Favs.. "Googled" and your site came up. Thanks! :D

Interesting game, very novel. Good rip, since I've never bought a game since 1997.

LOVE this one. I'm so into point and click games. I'm obsessed with the puzzles, love the escape the room ones....

Jay... have you thought about having, in addition to the search feature on your website, an area where you can click on a type of game that lists corresponding games of that nature?
i.e....
click on point and click and find a list of links to each of those games. I guess a kind of categorization system, so people that specifically liked those types of games could easily find them on your site?

just a thought...

:)

I too had come across this game YEARS ago, loved it, then lost it, then came across it again and loved it all over, the second one too. I in no way minded paying the $7 for #2, these guys deserve every penny. They have produced a beautiful, original game. Their websites and animations are just fantastic.

I consider time spent with this game, the farthest thing from a "waste" of minutes. It is a nice experience, that YES, should also be on a wall in a gallery.

Reply

I got through all the levels until the last, where I got stuck. Thanks!

Samorost 1 and 2 were great. When will there be Samorost 3. I got stuck on "majak" for ages and thought I'd never do it but persevered and got there in the end. What a sense of achievement. Please, please, bring on Samorost 3.

Reply

Can You help me to find onother Samorost to play
thank You in advance

that was one heck of a good game! finished it 1st time but since you cant die you just need to persevere and click everything that moves (even if it doesn't move click it anyway).

Samorost, Click, Gwen and Haluz are all favorites of mine. The gameplay (I use the term loosely) is relaxing and engaging. And the artwork and sound are among their elements that distinguish them from other point-and-clicks.

I echo Jay's comment that this is a "masterpiece of creativity and interactive art".

I'd love to this genre become a candidate for a JIG competition one day.

Had to play this through again. Still as good the second time.

On the last scene, after you turn on the light, where is the dial that you have to turn to 50?

Reply

Davie-
There is no dial. The buttons above the meters are the dials. Note the plus and minus signs.

By the way, pressing tab gives out major hints.

Reply

Love these simple, easy-going games with beautiful graphics. Love them. :) Oh, and love this website, it's awesome. It took me forever to find it and an avid online games player.

Reply

is it just me,or does it look like the programmer changed something in the game? everytime the anteater eats the ant,i click the stairs and my characgter disappears for about 5 seconds then reappears and starts walking. when i used to play it,it always went up the stairs. i don't get it.

I have been trying to find out the name of a game I was playing that was something like this. The codes for some of the levels are kompotarna, planina, lesik and majak. Does anyone know what game these level codes are for? Thank you.

Reply

@wjguest:

The second part of the very game you just played: Samorost 2

Reply

BadDog

I thought that was it also but when I put in the codes it doesnt go there. It just starts at the beginning and I know I must have paid for the full version or I would not have had the codes. After a few levels it goes to the end. I guess I will just have to pay again to see if I can get further. Thanks for the help.
