Turn that frown upside-down, and if you're not frowning, just turn your smile 360 degrees anyway for solidarity, because it's against the law to be unhappy when you're playing an adorable escape game from Detarame Factory. Mikke Escape plops you down in a place full of cuddly animals, cute decor, and a number of curious contraptions. To unlock the door, you actually need to find and click on ten circles, which will highlight briefly in red when you do so and let out what may be an alarming musical tone given the silence of the game, so just brace yourself. Click to interact, and use the arrows that appear on the green bands to the left and right of your view to navigate around the room. Click an item once to ready it for use, or double-click it to view it close up.
No bones about it, Mikke Escape is one seriously sunny little game. Though it's cute enough to be a pick-me-up, however, it's also pretty clever when it comes to its puzzles too. The Japanese text can make figuring out what one or two items are a little strange (though contextual image pop-ups help), and the game expects you to know that Shiritori is a particular type of Japanese game in order to solve the associated puzzle, which might be a stretch for some of us Westerners, so remember that Google is your friend. Despite these issues, however, Mikke Escape's charm and whimsy make it a welcome respite from more serious games, and if you're hankering for something sweet and not too challenging, this one is a good bet to make a coffee date with.

Walkthrough
The goal of the game is to find 10 circles
Dresser
take all the pieces out and put them back to make a circle. Make sure you grab the key. Don't forget to click "OK" in the bottom right corner to make sure you've 'collected' the circle.
Items to grab
With the key it's time to grab some stuff. First, grab the wine bottle on top of the dresser. Next, go left and get the items in the 3 drawers: the magnifying glass, a mirror, and a corkscrew(use your key to open the locked one). Go left again and take the paint can from the shelf.
Helpful hints found around the room
In the section with the clown, look at the green book and leaf through the pages
Click on the Music box for another clue.
If there is a word somewhere you don't know, you can google it. (It is a japanese word.)
yellow door
click on the music box to get the pattern for the door. If it's hard to make out, the code is is this: bottom, second to top, top, middle, bottom. Grab the train.
Green book clues
Whale
Look in green book to the right of the clown and look at the page with the sentences. Notice the first letter of each sentence. This relates to how to turn the key on the whale. The pattern is: Left, Right, Right, Left, Right, Left. Take the pill.
Flower
Again, look in the green book to the right of the clown. Look at the page with flower on it, there is a 24 written next to it. Go to the thermostat and set the temperature to 24 degrees. Go to the flower in the room with the cat. Click on the flower, then click on the circle.
Pink door
If you want, google the word 'shitori' in japanese. An english version of the game is to make a sequence of words. The last letter on one word will be the first letter on the next word. In the Green book it has the spellings for the numbers 1-9.
The code on the door starts with a 2 and ends in an eight. two ends in 'O' so the next number has to start with an 'O' meaning the next number would be One. Going by this rule the code ends up being 21838.
The Window
click on the blinds in the room with the music box. Click on the earth
these are all the circles/items you can get without needing to use any items (besides the key)
Using the items
Paint can/brush
Go to the painting on the easel. Fill in the rest of the moon.
Magnifying glass
Click on the newspaper under the thermostat. Use the magnifying glass. Click on the circle.
Wine bottle/corkscrew
Use the corkscrew on the wine bottle. Pour the wine in the glass by the chair. Click on the circle
Train
Put the train on the right side of the train tracks. Click the circle that comes out

Go to the room with the clown. Click on the purple half circle. Use the mirror on it. Click the circle.
Lighter
Click on the lighter and click the black part to turn the lighter on. Click on the Clown and light his candle. Go to another room and then go back to the clown. Click on him and then on the circle.
The Pill
Click on the pill to open it. Click on it again to pull out the paper. When you look at the paper it has a traffic sign on it.
Click on the blue door to see another traffic sign. Match the color of the sign on the door to the color of the sign on your paper. Grab the yellow thingy
After opening blue door
Go to the clown and plug in the tea kettle. When it begins to steam click on the yellow bladder in your inventory and take off the cap. Click on the steam to fill the bladder with hot water. Go the room with the cat and place it on the chair. Go to the thermostat and turn it all the way down. Go back to find the cat sleeping on the hot water bottle and click on it for another circle.
After every circle is found, click on the door (it should be all lit up now) and you're done!
If you've done everything, but the door hasn't lit up yet, go back and make sure you clicked on all the circles you made.
