Cats are sort of inherently swanky, so Lo.Nyan's Room Escape 16, which is, go figure, an escape game by Lo.Nyan, being set in a cushy apartment with a skyline view seems pretty fitting. But apparently, lounging around on the couch watching TV just isn't good enough for you, so to find a way out, you'll need to scour the place for clues, useful items, and solve puzzles. The game is in Japanese, but don't let that stop you. Just click to explore and interact, but bear in mind that the cursor won't change to show what you can click on, so you'll need to be diligent. If you see something that looks like a clue, use the camera you'll soon pick up to take a photo so you can refer back to it whenever you like. It's important to note that many of the puzzles in this escape game make use of colours, so if you have difficulty telling certain colours apart, this one might give you some trouble. Lo.Nyan delivers an otherwise smart and pleasantly challenging escape, though you'll pardon me if I take a while to do so myself... this place is cushier than my bedroom!
Super fun escape. Lovely, sensible puzzles that flowed nicely. I got stumped at the very end, but determination won out.. Great game
I thought that the final puzzle/clue was tricky as well. And then figured it out.
But one of the colors didn't seem to be correct.
I thought it was blue, but it was really white. Hmmm.
Ohhhh, there are also two secret things that do not relate to the actual escape.
One thing is...
The green clover.
And the other is...
The robot's heart.
Well, I'm stuck. And I think I'm near the end.
I've unlocked everything except the door. My inventory consists of the candles (I've used their clue already), the camera, and an odd JPG-blurred card, red-purple in color.
Sonic
the "card" is a box of matches
I suspected as much, but...
...why can't I use the matchbox to light the candles? Do I need to put them somewhere first?
check the table
there is a white candle already on one of the plates
At Sonic:
The candles do need to go somewhere.
It's a bit tricky since you have three candles and where they go has space for four.
It's the only surface that has room for candles. So it's the...
The dining table. Specifically...
The dishes.
I'm out, but I didn't find either secret. :/
Note that even if you *don't* normally have trouble telling colors apart, this game can be tricky.
Nice game. Do the letters on the candles change each game, or is the order always
f-a-g
? :)
I doubt Lo.nyan knows
why a certain code is, er... very awkward. It's a little bit funny, but maybe somebody should tell them...
Excellent game, though. Ever since the last one, I've been looking forward to seeing more.
The bit I got a little stuck on:
The strips of coloured arrow clues go with the bit of paper that looks a little musical notation.
The coloured dots don't tell you the letters, they tell you where to start before following the arrows one step at a time, in order.
If you've done the instructions for the red dot correctly, the answer for that one should be G, rather than H.
Here's a (rough) translation of that last secret:
After you knock down the robot, it says at the bottom of the screen "The end, thank you for reading this."
I am stuck
I have the code from the projector after putting in the CD. I took a Picture with the camera and I tried to enter the code on the wall with colors. But its not working

I think this is a bug in the game. What I did was to pass was to turn off the volume.
Is this game unplayably slow for anyone else? I've tried different browsers and such.
I really enjoy Lo.Nyan's Room Escapes, loved this one as well \(^_^)/
As some of you mentioned before, a certain code
was a little awkward indeed... XD
This reminds me of an off-topic story:
The bassoon is called "Fagott" in German (pronounced like "fah-'gott", maybe try google translator or something ^^).
When we had English exchange students visiting our school, someone from my class tried to explain that he was playing the bassoon, but didn't know the English word for it. So, he just used the German word and ... yeah, that was very, very awkward and needed some clarification afterwards. o_O
But I guess, things like that happen and are not meant in an offensive way most of the time. :)
Languages can be weird... :D
Concerning the secrets in the game:
I found the
green clover
under the camera in the "about item"-view
and the
robot's heart
after I got out. When you poke the robot in the ending screen repeatedly, you knock him over and see a heart on the underside of his feet.
Very good game, I've really enjoyed it!
I think it's much better than the previous ones (only played the last two or three).
Walkthrough
First of all, get the camera.
It's on the dining table.
Now for a round of collecting/clue gathering.
Dining table
Get four slips of paper with arrows on them.
When you get the blue paper, notice that this plate is different than the other three.
There's a white candle in the middle of the plate.
Mirrored shelves
Nothing to collect here, per se, but notice that you can turn the lights on or off for each cubicle.
Side table
Those are some strange-looking clock hands; take a picture of them, maybe? Also, look at the picture above the side table; get the robot keychain.
TV cabinet
There are three colorful stick-like things in plain sight: one on the floor towards the left, one on top of the CD player (the thing that looks like a projector to the left of the TV), and one to the right of the right-hand speaker.
There's a fourth stick-thingy in the left-hand drawer.
The middle-left drawer needs a four-digit code with colors red, yellow, light blue, and green.
The middle-right drawer needs three lowercase letters in yellow, orange, and red.
The right-hand drawer needs what looks like four shapes, but is actually four numbers, in yellow, red, light blue, and pale violet.
Coffee table
There's another stick-thingy, and a sphere on a pedestal that has four dials in green, red, yellow, and lavender.
Long low cabinet
The left door needs a four-letter clue, in dark yellow, light blue, green, and red.
The left-middle door is open. Collect another stick-thingy, and what looks like a bingo card.
The right-middle door is also open; get what looks like a base for the stick-thingies, judging by the one stick that's already in it. However, you can't put your sticks in until you have all 8.
The right door needs roman numerals associated with three shapes: a circle, triangle, and square. (If you're doing things in the same order as me, you already have the clue for this, but for ease of navigating these instructions, we'll come back to it later.)
Pillar to the left of the dining table
There's a switch that won't work, with four buttons below it in yellow, white, blue, and pink.
Solving time!
Clock face (photo)
This opens the long low cabinet's right-hand door.
Note that the hours are indicated by the segments, not the lines between them.
Circle = 4 (IV), triangle = 2 (II), square = 8 (VIII)
Get another stick-thingy from the big robot's feet. The robot is holding something in its left hand, but doesn't want to let go. Maybe if you put something in his other hand, he'll let you have it?
Put the robot keychain in the big robot's right hand. Get the vial and open it to reveal a clue paper with yellow, green, blue, and red dots and capital letters from A to H.
Arrow papers (items)
Combine with the paper you got from the big robot, with the four colored dots and the letters A-H along the bottom.
Grid with dots and letters (item)
Combine this with the four slips of paper with arrows on them to open the left-hand door of the long low cabinet.
(When you do "about item" on the clues, do the arrows first, because the other paper covers your inventory.)
For each color, start at the dot, then follow the arrows from top to bottom, and put in the letter you arrive at.
Yellow: start at the dot above the B, then go down, down, left, down, right, right, down, down to end up at C.
Blue: start at the dot above the F, then go down, down, left, down, left, left, down, right, down to end up at D.
Green: start at the dot above the D, go down, right, right, down, down, left, down, down to end up at E.
Red: start above the H, down, left, left, down, right, down, down, down to end up at G.
Colorblind: the clues are listed in left-to-right order, i.e. the full code is CDEG.
Get the last stick-thingy and some bingo balls.
Stick base, empty (item)
Once you have all eight stick-thingies, put them into the base. Click the slider knob to turn the base until you can see a number.
Red 4, yellow 6, light blue 5, green 1
Stick base, no longer empty (item)
This is the clue for the left-middle drawer under the TV. The numbers are in the same order as the clue. Get the CD, and note (read: take a photo of) the colorful sides of the drawer.
Bingo (items)
Combine the bingo balls and the bingo card to solve the mirrored shelves. (Don't forget to take advantage of the game's helps: for example, you can fold up the numbers on the bingo card, so you don't have to remember which ones should be covered.)
Turn off the lights in the cubicles corresponding to the bingo numbers you found.
1 = on, 0 = off:
1100
0111
1011
1011
The sound indicates something happened, but what? Take a look around the room.
The segmented purple picture above the side table now has colorful arrows on it. Take a photo, maybe?
CD (item)
Put the CD into the player next to the TV. Click the big white panel to start playing and note the letters that appear. (You can make the "music" stop by clicking the speaker icon.)
PBWYBPB, where P is pink, B is blue, W is white, and Y is yellow.
Don't forget that you can take a picture of the panel (I *think* you don't need to worry about timing, as in the photo will always include the full clue, even if you click the shutter while only one letter is showing.)
Purple picture with arrows (photo)
This goes with that sphere-on-a-pedestal that's on the coffee table. Set the dials to match the picture.
Colorblind:
the arrows on the picture are, left to right, yellow, red, pink, and green. The dials on the device are green, red, yellow, and pink. If the arrows are blending in to the picture so well that you can't see them at all, let alone where they're pointing (I'm looking at you, pink): green = southeast, red = west, yellow = southwest, pink = northeast.
So, it looks like the sphere is a projector of some sort - maybe a planetarium-type thingy? But there's too much light in the room to see what it's projecting.
Clue from CD player (photo)
This is the clue for unlocking the big switch on the pillar.
Colorblind:
the buttons on the pillar are, left to right, yellow, white, blue, and pink. If you number the buttons from left to right, the code translates to 4321343.
Once you've unlocked the switch, go ahead and click it.
Who on earth puts a code lock on a simple light switch? Yeah, yeah, I know.
Look around the room for any suspiciously glow-in-the-dark items. Or, you know, maybe now you can actually see what that projector on the coffee table is projecting.
Look at the ceiling above the coffee table to see four objects with varying numbers of diamonds. Don't forget that you can take a photo of it!
Turn the lights back on after you're done.
Planetarium clue (photo)
This is the clue for the right-hand door of the TV stand.
Yellow = 4 diamonds, red = 1 diamond, blue = 5 diamonds, pink = 7 diamonds.
Colorblind:
The door buttons are, left to right, yellow, red, blue, and pink. Translated to number of clicks, it's 3046.
Get a box with four buttons and a CD-shaped indentation.
Colorful drawer (photo)
You just got an object that greatly resembles this drawer in at least one respect.
The drawer is the clue for the box with four buttons. (Use "about item" on the photo first, move it to the side, then do "about item" on the box.)
Colorblind: north = 4 clicks, west = 8 clicks, south = 2 clicks, east = 9 clicks. (If you lose track, close the "about item" view and open it again.)
Get three colorful tealights with letters on them.
Candles (items)
The tealights are the clue for the right-middle door of the TV stand. Yellow = f, orange = a, red = g (and don't think too hard about what that spells). Get a box of matches. Also, the candles don't disappear, so they must have another use.
Candles, part 2
Remember how one of the plates on the dining table had a candle on it? Go put the three new ones on the other plates.
Matchbox (that red thingy that says Lo.nyan's Room)
I dunno, maybe you could light the candles? And then, to better appreciate their ambience, turn off the lights? Don't forget to take pictures of all four plates. And then turn the lights back on so you don't stub your toe or something.
Plates with candles (photos)
What else in the room had 12 segments around the edge like this?
Go look at the clock again. This time, when you click the gray segments, they turn different colors: white, red, orange, yellow, and back to gray again.
The photos in your inventory are, from left to right, red, orange, yellow, and white. (I know the fourth one looks blue, but it isn't.) They all have a beam of light pointing in a particular direction. Set those segments to match the candle colors.
7:00 = red = 2 clicks; 3:00 = orange = 3 clicks; 1:00 = yellow = 4 clicks; 10:00 = white = 1 click.
Get the key.
Exiting
Use the key (from the clock) to open the door, silly. :)
Note that this game has two secrets. One you need to find before exiting, and one you can only find afterwards.
Secrets
(With thanks to Nessi)
Four-leaf clover
Look at the bottom of the camera.
Robot's heart
After exiting, click the feet of the little robot to topple him and reveal the heart on the soles of his feet.
Regarding the uncomfortable code:
As a Brit, I was momentarily taken aback, then when I opened the drawer I thought "Of course, that's where the matches are. Probably there used to be cigarettes there as well."
