Lo.Nyan's Room Escape 14

DoraLo.Nyan is playing around a bit with their latest escape game Lo.Nyan's Room Escape 14, although if you think being trapped in a colourful, soothing room filled with toys, crayons to colour with, and a place to nap peacefully is a bad thing, you clearly overestimate my maturity. There's no changing cursor, so you'll have to click on everything if you want to find all the items and clues needed to solve the game's many puzzles, though bars will appear at the edges of the screen when you mouse over them if you can change direction. Remember to check out your inventory with the "About Item" feature if you want to view it up close to see if you can manipulate it, and go ahead and use the save function if you want to take a break. Perhaps more usefully, however, you can use the camera you find early on to take photos of pertinent clues so you don't need to constantly run back and refer to them as you play, though you should note some clues need to be photographed in some fiddly ways. Though the descriptive text is in Japanese, you don't need to know the lingo in order to play.

If there's one thing you can count on with Lo.Nyan, it's to make their escapes as user-friendly as possible, and with the inclusion of a camera and objects that become unselectable in your environment once you've done all you can with them, Room Escape 14 continues that trend. Though the visuals are fairly blurry, the star of the show is, as always, the smart and logical puzzles. While you'll definitely be required to play close attention to your surroundings for clues, pixel hunting is never really an issue, and the puzzle construction favours thought and reasoning beyond messing around with and combining doodads in your inventory... though there are definitely doodads to be found. There are a few nice, unexpected touches as you play that add a welcome bit of charm and whimsy, and the game is juuuuust long enough to be satisfying without overstaying its welcome. While a little of the user interface feels clunky when it comes to capturing photos or manipulating some items, largely Lo.Nyan's Room Escape 14 is a fun and clever, not to mention cute, escape game that's definitely worth your time.

Lo.Nyan's Room Escape 14 Walkthrough

Start off by grabbing the crayon and the carload on the round carpet.

On the small desk, you’ll find a notepad with another crayon on it.

The blue crayon is located next to the railway toys.

Two of the cats on the top shelf can be opened to obtain a battery and another crayon.

Grab the camera from the blue locker in the top left corner.

Take a picture of the clock.

To the left, you’ll notice a wooden box with the same figures as the clock. Use the picture to adjust it accordingly.

Once you get the key, use it to open the yellow locker on the right side.

Put the plant next to the window and take a picture of the numbers that appear.

Go to the small door behind the slide and use the picture of the plant to open it.

Once inside, take the ladder and open the small cat toy to find another crayon.

The green book named “Birds” should also be taken.

Take a picture of the height markings on the wall.

Put the ladder next to the slide and climb up.

You’ll find a small box with 4 different colors and shapes. For each color look at the number written on each crayon. Compare the numbers for the shape and adjust accordingly.

Put the small knob on the yellow locker on the left side to open it.

Now that the clock has changed, take another picture and again adjust accordingly on the wooden box to open it.

Use the key on the green locker on the left side.

Zoom in on the locomotive and turn it around.

Put the battery on and put all parts together. Put the train on the rails, click on it to get it running and quickly click on the barrier. The lights indicate the rotation of the wheel toy: left-left-right-left-right-right-left.

Use the key to open the box upstairs.

Go to the small bird house.

Open the book to see how the birds should be placed. If any pieces don’t match, simply click on the question mark to change them.

Use the key to open the blue locker on the left side.

Once you have the crayon box and the picture of a cat with different colors next to it, go to the room behind the slide.

Put the crayons in the box then use the picture to see the sequence of the colors on the kitty box. Each crayon indicates how far the buttons must be pushed.

Look at the kids’ paintings on the shelf downstairs. This is the pattern for the wooden toy below the clock. The piece of paper that’s found in there, indicates the pattern for the drawer next to the slide. You’ll find the key to the last door inside.

Talking to myself is apparently helpful. Now I have

a battery, pictures of the wall chart, a bird book and pictures of the books on the shelf

Obviously I figured out the

door and how to get up to the bed

but now I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do with

the battery, the 4 button box, the houses, books, train...

Or basically what I am supposed to do next.

@ninjamomma

If you need help with the 4 button box...

Make sure you have all 4 crayon colors

Look carefully at the the crayons...is there somewhere you might use what you see with the colors?

Look on the corner wall by the locked cabinets

Use the numbers on the crayons to determine which shapes have which colors

yellow - diamond; blue - club; red - spade; green - heart

Well apparently I cried "uncle" too soon. Thanks everyone for making me working it out my own. That was fun.

For anyone wanting the "Perfect End", you need to get the

four leaf clover.

You'll find it

on the book with the flowers.

:)

I thought there was no reward for placing the train other than seeing it go around the track, ding ding ding.

But there are two things to click on the train scene.

After clicking the train to make it go

click on the signal

If anyone is looking for the clover on the flower book to get the Perfect end,

you may already have it.

When you click on it, it reappears on the Save button.

This would be a much more beautiful game if it weren't so blurry, and especially if it didn't get so dark when the time changes.

I'm still giving it 5 mushrooms though, because I thought the puzzles were great, especially the ones that required more than one clue.

I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get to colour with the crayons, though.
