Link Dump Fridays

HarukioHopscotch, jump rope, and walking on curbs, other than being loads of fun, they're great ways to learn! Patty cake gets both sides of your brain chatting, and spinning in a swing may align your view on life. After we surpass the days of playground antics, it becomes the parabolic curve of a thrown football and the steady beat of running footsteps on pavement that keeps our minds chugging. So put those papers aside, take a break from your homework and let's play!

  • Paint Roulette - For keen eyes only! Figure out what is in the hidden photos before your time (and chips) run out! It's currently in beta so if you have any suggestions, be sure to let them know. Every (quality) game you make is worth a $1 Amazon Gift Certificate, but only while supplies last!
  • Need for Madness - Car-smashing, trick-rocking, java-powered racing game! Race or waste, it's up to you! It will get your license revoked for reals.
  • Heel Over - Men, tired of seeing women tower over you like the mighty green giant with a purse? Women, heel competition hurting your sole? Knock those ladies down to size with Heel Over (Kakato Otoshi)! Carefully tap away heels to a comfortable level without loosing your head.
  • Grammar Ninja - See all that you forgotten since school. or if your in school this, is like a test. But it is fun! Their different difficulties to customize experience. Have fun; learn much! Designed by high school student talented.
  • Topolon - A puzzle like action game where you attempt to wipe out all of the viruses on a network. Clicking on a space occupied by your own blue blob will split it among all connected nodes. Clicking an empty node will suck in all connected blue blobs. It seems you must destroy all viruses (which look like pollen) and then clear your own dudes before you beat a level. Score challenge of the week, can you beat my score of 82,930? It shouldn't be too hard ;)
  • MANGO!!! - Sick of all those tangerines from last week? Try some MANGO! MANGO! MANGO!

Watch this happy space for news on our upcoming TripleJack Poker night!

Topolon is pretty slick, but I didn't pay enough attention to the description at first and didn't know about clicking empty spaces. That's important! Kind of hard t clear otherwise. :) Once I knew what I was doing I made it to level 31 before it got too rough.

LOL Hilarious Mangoes!!!

Lol, thanks for posting that XD

Apparently, "why" is an adverb now... Grammar Ninja sure has an interesting view of English.

Reply

Actually, come to that, a lot of Grammar Ninja is ungrammatical...

115040 on Topolon. That game is actually interesting!
PS. Find more games like Cave Story ;)

What's up with that PaintRoulette game? I used to love Get The Picture by Blizzard (dang I'm old) so I love the idea of picture games. Sadly I haven't seen one aside from the single player Google picture game and the Lowest Common Denominated Tag Flickr game.

Kinda hope this is a good one, but it's not looking...functional...at all, yet.

JIG and Weebls stuff have crossed paths! My life is complete.

What's the deal with Heel Over? I can't figure out how to fix it when you get two "blocks" misaligned... nothing I do seems to work, and since I've long since forgotten my high school Japanese, translating the instructions seems unlikely...

Reply

Heel over: You can hit individual segments in different spots. If they're misaligned, try to hit them at the very top or the very bottom so that they "jump back in place".

any ideas for tactics on getting past level 8 on need for madness? I was doing okay until that point...

Grammar Ninja is one of the best educative games I have seen. I don't know enough of English (I'm a spanish speaker) to comment on it's correctitudiness ( ;) ) but it's great concept and finely implemented.
I liked Heel Over but at level 6-7 it starts to get weary and sudenly too hard.
I really like Paint Roulette concept, but it requires a IE6 plugin to upload a new game. I think that's killing it. There was no games to play and I wanted to upload a new one, but I have IE6 (but normally browse with Firefox!)
Need for Madness is really cool. Nice level design and smooth gameplay.
And... MANGO, MANGO... MANGO,MANGO,MANGO... MANGOOOOO!

Mango mango mango mango.... great, thanks, now I need to go listen to something like the Macarena to get THAT out of my head!

Topolon was cool. Died at about 50000 point tho, so no threat to your hiscore.

I've loved Need For Madness for some time now, definitely worth a review!

Grammar Ninja is a very well executed game, for a high school project, it gets an A+ from me; that is, for a game... for grammar, it's a C-, and barely that. "our" is not an adverb... in fact, beyond nouns and verbs, it's pretty much a 50/50 chance that the author of the game correctly labels any part of speech. Bravo on the game! Shame on the grammar.

For some reason, when I try to play Grammar Ninja, the rectangles where the words should be are just blank. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?

Meanwhile, I love Need for Madness. Yay for insane gravity-defying stunts!

Topolon is definetly the best out of these game. It quickly becomes very frantic!

I got to level 40 with a score of 146 640. How long until someone beats me? ;)

i gotta watch what i say here, since i now know that anything i say can be used against me in a court in shangri-la. :D

first off, i really wouldn't recommend grammar ninja. the game definitely has a good educational purpose (teaching parts of speech with a kid-cool theme), but it suffers from so many inaccuracies. for example, there are words that are nouns in one sentence, but when used differently, they become adjectives, but are still labeled within the game as nouns. as one sentence in the master level summed it up, "this is a particularly hard sentence to define because i might have labeled some words incorrectly!" just be sure to read the disclaimer on the title page.

i happened to be on the chat when paint roulette was first pitched to us. for the most part, i enjoyed it (with the exception of some bad submitted puzzles that drove me up a wall). i'm assuming more puzzles have been created since then, but for some reason, when i click to play, it says that there are no puzzles available at the moment. anyone know how to fix this?

heel over appealed to me because of its challenge and humor. (perhaps being able to read the japanese texts would lead to more laughter?) if you guys think the first couple of levels are hard, wait til you get to level 6. that's when the difficulty really ramps up.

topolon caught my attention because of the fast-paced gameplay and puzzle challenge. what i like about a game like this is how you have to think twice before making a move. instinct, in most other games, tells you to click on the object. but to clear the level, what you really need to do is click where the object isn't, so it makes for a good action-strategy puzzle game.

as for need for need for madness, i'll admit that i didn't play it. however, i realized that it was made by radicalplay.com, a game site i used to enjoy way back when. it looks like they got rid of most of their older stuff, but if you get the chance, be sure and check out maniac racers. (probably the exact same concept as NfM, just 2-d?)

and... mango.

Is it just me, or does Need for Madness freeze every once in a while, leaving the music playing unless I close all the browser windows?

although i'm fairly certain that the pope has been "blessing some apples", i love the suggestion that he's been "pricing some apples" ;) ...who knew the pope dabbled in blue-collar work as well?
...thanks for the mangoes, jay; that song has been in my head for two days now, working its strange magic.

Wow. I just spent hours playing Need for Madness, finally beat it. I'd say the hardest stage is definitely 10- beating the best car in the game using the second-best? Near impossible.
