JohnBFact: the flu virus can live on ordinary objects for days. Solution? Never touch anything. Ever. In fact, your eyes may be absorbing the flu virus by reading this page. You don't know whose nasty, diseased vision has already seen what you now see. It's gross. Ew. I'm going to the decon chamber now...

  • icon_uncf.gifUNCF - It's like Sproing Reloaded, but zanyquirkyweird. And Japanese. Control a little floating guy who apparently has an elastic tail with a ball attached to the end. Swing it around to eliminate the enemies that come floating by.
  • icon_fishtank.gifFish Tank - KABOOM! LAZER FISH SUBMARINE THINGIE! Swim forward by wiggling your little self left and right. Tap the [spacebar] to fire a laser beam. You can't move straight, which makes controlling the little sub a challenge, but after you get the hang of it you'll do just fine.
  • icon_kinetikz3.gifKinetikz 3 - A sequel to Kinetikz 2 that expands upon the gameplay quite a bit. Imagine if billiards and a vertically scrolling shooter were smashed together and you'll get the basic picture. On the darker side of things, you have to make some tough shots on-the-fly, which can be frustrating.
  • icon_hive.gifHive - This game would have been right at home in an early-80s arcade. And I would have pumped quarter after quarter into it, too! Zoom around the screen firing either vertically or horizontally to squish spawning bugs. Created by Brent Silby, author of several unique retro-style games, including Swarm.
  • icon_turbotanks.gifTurbo Tanks - Ever play the old Combat game released for the Atari 2600? Well, Turbo Tanks is remarkably similar to the tank portion of that classic game. Pilot a tank and maneuver yourself around the screen trying to bounce your shots off the wall and hit your opponent. Shockingly good enemy AI might have you screaming for revenge after a few minutes.

Turbo Tanks is awesome! Even though bring just line art, I love the fact that they got into the details like one side of the tire threads stopping when the tank takes a turn.

Though I have to say UNCF took my vote for a late Thursday night game :D

Cheers

We had an Atari...and had great fun with invisible tank pong....this is reminiscent of that (but obviously without the invisibility....)
Fun!

Any ideas for what to in Level 19 of Fish Tank?

Fish Tank irritates me with its claustrophobic view. Could I see a little further, please? It would be really fun just to go zooming around, but instead you have to hesitantly inch everywhere, because you never know when a wall will appear in front of you.
The level design just aggravates the issue. Many of the levels feel annoyingly like trying to escape a parallel parking spot when someone has parked much too close to you, and you have to creep forwards and back 50 times to get out. Oh, and if you touch their bumper, you have to start all over.

As annoying as the puzzles may be, at least they keep with the theme of the game. The final level is just ridiculous.

All of the sudden, I'm using my laser to destroy torpedos?

Why? What the hell? And there are no obstacles. I don't even know what you're supposed to do -

your ship is too clunky to do the ole "lead the missiles into a wall" trick, but at the same time, simply destroying them is waay too easy and there doesn't seem to be any other alternative.

Goodness.

I did enjoy UNCF though, for it's silliness and cute characters. :D

Does anyone have any helpful tips for controlling the erratic and insane, but really fun, UNCF ball?

I try to move in circles to work up a steady diameter to destroy with, but there's no room to spin in circles to keep this going, so I try swooping around the place, dodging bullets and just hoping the ball hits them by chance.

I'm up to the big blue boss. The first one.

>:(

It's always nice to see some pixel art games though!!!! :D :D :D

Oops! It felt like a forgot something.
Thanks Kayleigh :D

KF - one strategy I've tried is to keep the ball spinning in a small but fast diameter. It seems like the further away you spin, the less likely it is you'll hit something unless you get lucky - kinda like rotating your ship in asteroids and firing wildly. Never a good idea.

Then again, I did terribly in that game, so clearly I don't have the best advice :p

I was also irritated by parts of Fish Tank, especially the last level. The view is pretty restricted and the fact that you can see less far behind you than you can in front of you makes for some aggravation when...

dodging torpedoes.

Also, it was totally unclear to me what had to happen in order to beat the final level. I ended up...

shooting my laser while spinning in circles until the torpedoes stopped coming. I guess that did the trick.

in turbotanks, the level design is geared against the player
