Lightybulb 2

If you're looking for rapid-fire, cute, point-and-click puzzle goodness, Ninjadoodle's name should be on your short list, and they're serving up another helping with Lightybulb 2, where, just like the original game, you're trying to figure out how to make the lightbulb in each level light up. Click on things to interact, but also try to drag objects around... you never know what might happen. The levels may look similar, but you'll have to solve them in a variety of different ways... math, deciphering codes, or even just good ol' process of elimination. If you like your puzzle games aggressively cute with a bouncy soundtrack, then Lightybulb 2 is probably a bright idea. Zing!

Well, one level has me stumped.

9669, four hands.

Reply

I couldn't for the life of me explain -why-, but:

the answer is 12 - 6 - 6 - 12

No idea why, or why I tried that in particular, but yeah. There y'go. Stumped on why it makes sense though.

Now that I know what the answer is, I think I can explain why:

Big hand; little hand. When an analog clock reads 9:00, where is the big hand?

Could've been better implemented, though.

That was my understanding of what the hands signified. It did require a small leap of faith

from 9 or 6 on the clock to 9:00 or 6:00 of the clock (o'clock).

Have to admit that I ragequit on the level with

the teapot-looking thing. I did find two video walkthroughs on YouTube, one of which showed the player mousing and clicking all over the place for a solid 45 seconds until the lightbulb finally came on for no apparent reason, and the other of which showed it coming on in less than two seconds, again for no apparent reason.

I was stuck on that for a while too, abfdrumz.

The teapot thing is actually supposed to look like a genie's lamp. That might give you the hint you need! If not:

What do you do with a genie's lamp? You rub it! And if that doesn't give it to you:

Rub the light bulb, not the picture of the lamp. :-)

Thanks, Billy-o...could have sworn I tried that, but apparently not!

To those complaining about the time puzzle:

Play that level again. I don't know if there was a bug or something, but when I played it, the answer was as you would expect, 9669.

I am, however, stuck on the level after that.

@ThemePark

They are talking about another similar time puzzle.

As for your level after that, I can tell you the answer but I'm not sure why it works:

Hold down the light switch. For 4 seconds, maybe?

Reply

The really confusing one for me was the third time puzzle

9669, 4 partially shaded clocks

I bruteforced the solution to be

right, down, right, down

which makes no sense, unless

the clocks read 4,12,6,8 hours (which they actually don't), and you take 3/4 or 1/2 of the time depending on whether it's 9 or 6.

Reply

@kktkkr:

Actually the clocks don't specify times but fractions. The first clock for instance is 1/3rd filled, which means you take 1/3 of the 9, and set the dial to that, i.e. to 3. Same with the others.

I am stuck on the puzzle with letters

What is the game called?

Spell out "LIGHTYBULB".

Walkthrough

1.

Put the band-aid on the right-hand switch, then flip the left-hand switch.

2.

Press the left-hand round button once, then the right-hand round button repeatedly until the bar fills up with red and the lightning-bolt indicator lights up. Then flip the light switch.

3.

Turn on the switches as indicated -- O = off, | = on.

4.

Turn all the switches on. (I can never do these systematically - I just keep hitting switches until they all stay on. On this one, I lucked out: middle, then right works.)

5.

Set the dials to the times indicated, then flip the light switch.

6.

Hold down the button for 4 seconds.

7.

This is similar to level 2, except you have to alternate hitting the round buttons.

8.

Flip the switches in the order indicated.

Those aren't some strange alphabet, they're just numbers and their mirror images.

316542

9.

Same as level 4, just with more switches. (1, then 3 seemed to work.)

10.

This is the same as level 5, except note that the hourglass is upside-down.

So set the dials to 6996 instead of 9669.

11.

Hm, what was this game called again?

Spell out LIGHTYBULB with the buttons.

12.

Another variation on level 2, except this time, first press the left-hand button ten times (or more), then press the right-hand button ten times.

13.

Flip the switches in the order indicated by the building and the elevator.

613524

14.

Same as levels 4 and 9, with more switches. (3, 2, 4, 1. I think.)

15.

Variant on levels 5 and 10, except you need to do some fractional multiplication.

The pies are one third, whole, half, and two thirds, so 9669 becomes 3636.

16.

Is that Aladdin's lamp?

Rub the lightbulb.

17.

Yet another variation on level 2. This time, press and hold the left-hand button for a while, so the light will stay on while you fill up the bar and flip the switch.

18.

Read the roman numerals as indicated by the pyramid and arrow, then flip the switches in that order.

VI, II, IV, I, III, V

19.

You know the drill (see levels 4, 9, and 14 - and sorry, I've got no help for you this time.)

20.

Variant on 5, 10, and 15, except this time, pay attention to the hands. On an analog clock, if it's 9:00, where does the big hand point?

12 6 6 12
