If you're ever feeling blue, just go play a Sanpoman escape game, and I guarantee you won't be quite so sad anymore, though you may need to lie down for a while to process the cuteness. In Ladybug Room, which is not as over-the-top adorable as Sanpoman's other games but is still pretty cute, as you might expect you're locked up somewhere with a ladybug motif, and a despondent ladybug in the corner. There's no English text, but there's also no language barrier to playing... your cursor will change when it passes over something you can click on to interact with, and your can examine items you're carrying by clicking the item first, and then the "?" button below your inventory. Though the room may look sparse, there are a lot of clever puzzles in it, and many of them will likely require you to take a second look at the clues you find, as the game is excellent at sneakily playing with your perceptions and hiding things... even in places you think you've already looked! It's still not a very long game, but it makes up for it by being a smart one with a great design that makes you enjoy every second. Ladybug Room represents exactly the sort of escape game we wish there were more of... just the right size for a break, cleverly designed, and cute as the proverbial button without being saccharine. Do yourself a favour and play it!
The left most button on the title screen starts the game.
For page 5:
You must click on the jagged edge of the page in the book to paste the page in.
I'm stuck! I have:
8 ladybugs (missing the one in the bottom-left corner of inventory) and I have a book with the missing page filled in, but nowhere to use the code.
I think I'm missing a
screwdriver
POP! Lesson of the day- keep clicking!
For those having trouble with the ladybug puzzle:
You need to drag'n'drop the ladybugs to their place, not just click on them.
I swear I've seen this before. Does anyone else remember a big bug in the corner that we had to unlock with a card?

Thank you ThemePark, that was exactly the hint I needed!
:)
Ah! Thank you! Now my brain can shut up about it.

Anyway, Ladybug Room Escape was a fun mini-tough game. Perfect amount of "unghhh".
Was stuck at the same spot, you were right about furious clicking
Puzzle Guide (Walkthrough)
Please at least look around the room before trying to use this guide.
Suggested puzzle-solving order:
Cookie jar (on sideboard)
Box with lines (on sideboard)
Bottom doors of bookshelf
Bottom drawer of bookshelf
Top of bookshelf
Right door of sideboard
Middle of bookshelf
Big ladybug
Sideboard
Cookie jar
Clue:
Look at underside of the lid of the right-hand ottoman.
Pay attention to the orientation of the bug in the middle.
Leave the top slider in the middle. Slide both sides to the bottom. Slide the bottom one to the left.
Get:
Can of oil
Box with lines
Clue:
Look at the lines. Where else have you seen something like them?
Look at the canisters on the bookshelf.
Red, blue, yellow, pink
Colorblind
clicks: 2, 1, 6, 4.
Get:
Cyan ladybug
Right door
Need:
The door needs a handle. If you don't have one, open the bottom doors of the bookshelf.
Get:
white ladybug. There's also a grey box with six dots and a horizontal button.
Bookshelf
Bottom doors
Clue:
Three ladybug pictures on the opposite wall.
Count the dots: 527
Get:
purple ladybug, cabinet door handle
Bottom drawer
Clue:
(OK, so it's not really a clue. So sue me.) After opening the bottom doors, notice the screwed-down panel.
The screwdriver is in the same place you got the pink ladybug.
Notice how the left ottoman is much shallower than the right?
Click inside the left ottoman to lift up the false bottom and reveal the screwdriver.
Unscrew the panel, then pull the handle.
Get:
blue ladybug. There's also a gray box which you can't pick up. It has 3 dots, a horizontal button, and 3 more dots.
Top
Clue:
There's a lever on the right side of the bookshelf, but it seems to be stuck.
Perhaps some oil would help? If you don't have any, check the cookie jar.
Once you get the lever unstuck, hover toward the middle of the screen to see the up arrow.
Get:
orange ladybug, piece of paper.
Middle shelf
Clue:
Nine holes, nine ladybugs, I think the connection is obvious. But what goes where?
Check out the three gray boxes with dots and buttons.
There's one in the corner to the left of the sideboard, there's one behind the right door of the sideboard, and there's one in the bottom drawer of the bookshelf.
In each one, the button "replaces" three of the dots. Press one of the buttons and look around the room: did anything change?
Look at the three ladybug pictures above the sideboard: when you press a button, their color temporarily changes.
Top row (sideboard): yellow, pink, red. Middle row (bottom drawer of bookshelf): purple, blue, white. Bottom row (corner): cyan, orange, green
Once you have all 9 ladybugs, select them, then click the middle compartment of the bookshelf until the ladybugs are lined up on top and a reset button appears at the bottom right. Drag the ladybugs to the appropriate spaces.
Colorblind:
the ladybugs are lined up in the following order: white, yellow, orange, pink, red, purple, blue, cyan, green.
Ladybugs:
Yellow - on plant in corner
Red - on round table
Pink - in left ottoman
Green - behind left door of sideboard
Cyan - box with lines
Purple - bottom doors of entertainment unit
Blue - bottom drawer of entertainment unit
Orange - top of entertainment unit
White - right door of sideboard
Get:
the card with the magnetic stripe
Big red ladybug
Need:
Card with magnetic stripe. To get it, solve the ladybug puzzle (middle of the bookshelf).
Clue:
Use the card from the entertainment unit on the slot near the bottom left side of the ladybug. Five buttons are revealed. The clue is in the book (left middle of bookshelf).
The book is missing a page. If you got this far, you should already have it: it was on top of the bookshelf. To put it in place, open the book to page 3. Select the page in your inventory, then click the jagged sliver of paper in the book.
On each page, note which pip is lighter than the others.
1: top left; 2: middle; 3: bottom left; 4: top right; 5: top left; 6: bottom right; 7: bottom left.
After putting in the code correctly, wait a bit, and a key will appear.
Use the key on the door, and you're out.
In the walkthrough, I did not see how you came about the positioning of the 9 ladybugs on the 3 X 3 grid.
I discovered that you have to find three little boxes which have 6 holes and a white bar. Click on the white bar, then go look at the 3 pictures of the ladybugs on the wall. The colors change every time you click.
Find another one of these little boxes with the 6 holes with the white bar, click on it and you will see the colors of the pictures change again. The position of the white bar indicates in which row to place the colored ladybugs.
I described exactly how to get that.
It's all right there under "Bookshelf - middle shelf". I call them grey boxes with dots and buttons, though, not "holes" and "bar".
Perhaps you didn't open all the spoilers and missed the description?
Yes, I missed it. You are exactly right!
