I.C.S or Instantaneous Combustion Syndrome is one heck of a syndrome. Stand in direct sunlight for too long and poof! Up you go in flames. With this kind of disease it would seem it would be best to stay inside with your favorite game system and spend your days in the dark. But our little hero doesn't have it so lucky. Instantaneous Combustion Syndrome 2 is a puzzle platform game that has you either running for the caverns or using your blazing self to take out bad guys before quickly diving into some water to put yourself out. Each level has its own secret box to find and open, but your main goal is to reach the doorway without turning into a pile of ash. This challenging game has you using your curse as a blessing, while also trying to avoid self-combustion at all cost. Run with either the [WASD] or [arrow] keys, jump with [Z] or use it to slide when you're crouching, and use [X] to open boxes, flip switches, and drink potions. But above all make it to the doorway when you're not consumed with flames and make it to your next little adventure.
Instantaneous Combustion Syndrome 2 sets itself up to be a high difficulty game, but not all levels are consistent with this theme. Nor is the game set up on a steady slope that slowly gets harder the deeper you get into it. You'll find some levels are a breeze only to have the next level trip you up and bring you close to rage-quitting. The mix up of challenges doesn't break the flow of the game as each of the levels have their own twist. It also does two things. One, it lets you relax from the more trying levels, and two, it lets you relax which means you won't be on guard and the next hard level will be there to surprise you with all sorts of deaths. All the levels have a box to be opened for a secret and some of the easiest levels have the hardest boxes to open. You have to collect all the boxes to play the final level. Sometimes the boxes aren't so much difficult to get to as they are just to find. Instantaneous Combustion Syndrome 2 likes to obscure things with grass or water and while it's not too hard to spy the chests when you're looking for it, it can be harder to realize there are spikes waiting for you until your soft feet find them. And when you're racing to the next shady area it's not easy to remember to look twice at where you're going. So grab your sunblock and slip on your running shoes because this is one blazing adventure that will either have you cheering in the dark or going up in smoke.
I seriously can't figure out level 28. I clearly can't get over the spikes once the floor burns, but I can't see any way to speedily burn the wall blocking my path without also making the floor burn faster.
Do you have the
Red switch flipped on?
That lets you have a platform where you can jump over the first and then slide under the blocks in the middle.
For the fastest way
just hold "down" and keep hitting [z] to slid across the wooden floor
Managed to get all the chests, except for the ones in 36 and 26. For the life of me I can't figure out where the one in 36 is, or how to get to the one in 26.
kgy121, at level 26
Left of the exit is a hidden switch under the waterfall. That should help you reach the chest.
Not sure about level 36 as the chest disappears on replay but
try looking under waterfalls
The extra level is impossible! I've tried jumping from those two small latters on to the platform for hours. Has anyone accomplished this jump and could share a few tips?
I actually just passed this this morning since I had been missing a chest and finally realized what I was doing wrong x.x It was easy to get.
But for the ???? level
I found that ladder part extremly hard as well. You have to do a light tap of "up" to grab on. Too much and you run off of it. When you get that down to get to the next ladder I found the better way was to jump first and then move over when you're in the air. Never seemed to work when I was trying to do both at the same time.
Maybe that will help a little but yeah that part is a doozy.
hey guys, where is the chest in 43?
Thanks Lori.h. That did the trick. It just took two tries now.
I have all the achievements down - except one: The credits. The credits page just give me a finish screen - not really a credit page - and the achievement doesn't unlock. There seems to be a bug.
This is the one I struggled with for so long.
Here's a hint.
don't hit any switches at first when you go look for the chest.
