Hacker's Escape

Also free for iOS and Android, Pine Games' Hacker's Escape is, as the title would imply, an escape game that looks like it's set within what one of those primetime cop dramas think a hacker's room actually looks like. You know. Where they hack your firewalls and plugin your interwebs. But then, that campy aesthetic is sort of the point, as you see from the various homages to classic technothrillers around the room. To play, just click to interact. The text that appears at the top of the screen will tell you what you're looking at when it's interactive, and also show you if you're about to change orientation by moving around the room. The, ahem, fist you start out with in your inventory at the bottom of the screen is actually "force", so you can use it on objects that require a little bit of exertion to move or use. To combine items, or use one item on another, click them both in your inventory one at a time. Not only are codes hidden around the room, but you'll find a lot of electronic equipment you'll need to put to good use if you ever want to find your way out. So get cracking, and get hacking!

Turned out that all I didnt know was

everything else fell into place after that.

How many lenses does a pair of goggles need?

Wow, I really enjoyed this one! Who knew I would enjoy

using mathematics to solve a puzzle. Normally, I hate anything that involves the use of equations.

While the game itself was... okay, I guess, what really brought my vote down was all the ads I had to sit through just to start. Two pop-up video ads, running simultaneously, then one of those annoying Flash-based site intros -- and a particularly lengthy one, at that -- and when I finally got to the title screen, half of it was obscured by yet another video ad.

I know these sites have to get ad revenue, but STILL.

Are we playing the same game, HeroForge? The only ads I got when I started playing were one standard almost-square banner ad at the title screen, then one pop-up-from-the-bottom ad once I actually began playing. (To dismiss the latter, simply mouse over it then click the X.)

Where were you lot finding this "enhance" function on the laptop?

All I could see was the image?

Screenshot please?

There's a USB stick under the pillow. Plug it into the laptop, and after that the button will be unmissable.

question about the walkthrough

all it says is "force on lens" at the beginning. I don't see a lens. what do I do?

Reply

Paul:

Examine the spyglass in the door. You can use Force to get the lens out.

Pretty good, except for some reason I don't see any

"enhance option" on the photo on the laptop.

Maybe my Flash player is out of date, it hasn't updated since this morning.
