Was going to try to get the itunes gc but since I don't have itunes, I would have to download it. Should I download it to make sure I can win in the future? I would rather just win free games anyway. Awesome that you guys are doing it though.
If you don't have a need for iTunes, then those gift certificates probably won't do you any good.

I'll follow you guys, but please remember the point of twitter is not just to throw out little previews of articles, but rather a way to further connect with the community. It doesn't all have to be relevant; just as long as it's interesting! Talk to those who talk to you, etc. You don't have to follow EVERYBODY [there will be a lot], but check your "@" messages tab frequently.
If yall are down with all that, then I look forward to seeing yall on twitter!

My love of free stuff outweighs my aversion to sites akin to twitter.

I avoided MySpace successfully and I still don't have one. I thought I was going to manage to do the same thing with Twitter.

Is it going to be that you post up the coupon code and the first person to use it, uses it?
Because in that case, I don't think it's worth it for me to sign up, because I doubt I'd be quick enough to do it, even if I happened to be on when you posted the code, I'm not that quick at picking the game or whatever and going through checkout. It's the BFG codes that I would be interested in.
Are you still doing that "Do so many walkthroughs and get a BFG coupon" thing, btw? I think I've done two walkthroughs... I did one for Choice, and translated the text in the game, and I think I did another game. IIRC you used to have it that 3 walkthroughs = 1 BFG coupon. But maybe you guys don't do that anymore. :3

btw, we're an iPhone app PR & marketing company, would love to learn more about how you decide which games to review.
Brian - we decide what games to review on JIG by committee, a private mailing list that all of our reviewers subscribe to.
We post games there for evaluation and discuss their relative merits and "JIG-worthiness" before deciding on whether to review, link dump, or pass altogether.
Joye - we have plans for some Twitter gameplay, so while there will be some "Here's a coupon code, first person to use it gets it" kinda things, there will also be some things you'll have to sleuth out to find the prize. :)
And your participation on the site and previous walkthroughs certainly earn you a gift from us. I'll contact you via the email you created your CG account with.
Joye: There is also a new feature on the help squad page. There are a few games listed there that are in desperate need of a walkthrough. Pick up one of those and you've earned yourself a game coupon, don't need to do 3 anymore :D. just pick one from the list and get cracking.

It's one of the reasons I follow ThinkGeek and Felicia Day. ThinkGeek had been all "here's our latest product" but has transformed into a more personal/community one with occasional product tweets.
For anyone stumped in the riddle game we just played on Twitter, here's what it was:
The clue: "Somewhere on JIG you will find a key near a desert island. Be the first to find key, then find door for a free full-version of the game."
The answer:
The clue "desert island" is a reference to the game "My Tribe", the full version of which was actually the prize this time around. (Thank you, Grubby Games!
On the My Tribe review page there was a "key", a sequence of characters appearing in an image within the review.
"Find key, then find door" is a reference to the (original) Kagi Nochi Tobira game.
On that review page, clicking ON THE DOOR of the screenshot pops up a Flash app where you enter the key. You are then given a button that will take you to the page where the download link for the free game exists.
The download link was only good for the first person to get there, and @harperpitt was the winner!

I'm twittering and largely irritated by it. Is it just me or is 90% of the feeds to which one subscribes utterly pointless?? PR guff from self serving fools.
However, JIG on Twitter manages to remain (as the website does) a rare beacon of both interesting information and imaginative thought.
