Find 10 Yellow Cupcakes

You're trapped in a house, and the only way to escape is to Find 10 Yellow Cupcakes and eat a few others? Just what sort of fiend are you, MayMay? Just click around to explore, and remember to try interacting with everything since the cursor won't change to tell you if something is useable. To use an item, click it in your inventory to pick it up, and then click wherever onscreen you'd like to try it, while clicking the item you're holding on the About Item button will let you view it up close, which can potentially allow you to mess around with it further! Find 10 Yellow Cupcakes is practically by definition short and sweet, with the only real issue apart from its mildly clunky item interface being occasionally having difficulty telling what an item is, or a lack of feedback as to why something isn't working... or whether it's worked at all in the place of inputting codes! Still, the sense of whimsy and light-hearted puzzles go a long way towards making this a lovely little treat to reward yourself with, no matter what else you may have eaten today.

Any cupcake ingredients in that box? (1)

How about that bag with the snail? (2)

Somehow a cupcake got on top of the window. Try opening the curtain.

No luck, but you got a number. If you had trouble reading it:

698

The desk puzzle required some numbers.

This cupcake is not yellow. Your green friends only like yellow cupcakes. You can eat this one.

Oooh. It looks like one of those wrappers with pictures on it. Take a closer look.

On the desk is a lamp. Try turning it on. (3) You can also turn it off again if you are environmentally conscious.

Back to the front of the kitchen. If you're going to make cupcakes you should wash your hands.

Some hot water should unfreeze that bottle. First you need to plug up the sink. Fortunately, the plug is in the sink. A useful looking stick is nearby.

Once the sink is plugged, turn on the hot water and put the bottle in.

Remove your now unfrozen bottle from its water bath. (And take the stick if you haven't already done that.)

GET DOWN!

The right drawer under the sink has a puzzle with letters, but you might have to tilt your head to see it.

Remember the steps? Look at the cookbook again.

Bowl, cupcake 4, and a blue cupcake. You're still hungry, so you should eat it and check out the wrapper when you're done.

The left drawer also has a puzzle with letters. Letters that look like the ones on the bottle.

Cupcake 5 and a whisk.

To the fridge!

The blue cupcake wrapper has the solution to unlocking your fridge, turned 90 degrees clockwise. Inside the fridge is cupcake 6 and the cupcake tin. It can also be used to make muffins, but in this game you are making cupcakes.

You might have already tried clicking under the fridge. Do it again. This time with the stick in hand.

Yellow key unlocks green cupboard. Make sure to check both sides. Get your cupcake mix and cupcake 7.

Cupcake making time.

Since those wrappers are still in good condition, why not reuse them? Bring up the cupcake tin and put them in there.

You may have short arms, but they are strong. Add the mix and water to the bowl; then stir with the whisk.

Put the batter in the wrappers in the tin, then stick the whole thing in the microwave, oven, magic cooking box by the sink. Close the door. Hit the button.

The ding means it is done. The tin is not too hot for your hands so get those cupcakes out of there.(8)(9)

Go back out the door. Use the stick to get the cupcake on top of the window. How did it get there if you weren't able to get it down without the stick?(10)

Time to feed your guests.

There is one last puzzle before you can leave. Despite having already eaten 2 cupcakes, you are still hungry. You eat all the cupcakes. At least the wrappers tell you the solution to the puzzle.

It turns out you had cupcakes for your guests outside waiting.

I wrote this as I was playing it. I hope you like it, Paul.

Fun little game.

At the end,

that photo of cupcakes made me awfully hungry.

Ok, I feel like an idiot, but I can't get the

batter into the cupcake pans.

I've tried opening them both in the 'About item' and just about anything else I can think of. Any help? Or should I switch browsers (using Chrome)?

Paul,

When you eat a cupcake in real life...

...don't you have to unwrap it as you go...?

Put the used cupcake wrappers in the pan

Oh wow, I feel dense now. Thanks!

No worries. It took me 15 minutes and a sandwich before it dawned on me.

Thanks, Prasanth ... that never would have occurred to me!

I have pretty much everything (I think) except the

key to the green cupboard

and I can't find any more puzzles.

Reply

prasanth, what are you talking about? I was just posting in regards to a possible walkthrough in the works and that playthis seems to be on this page a lot lately which I like of course.

@spike21 regarding the key

You probably looked under the fridge already, but...

maybe you couldn't reach far enough.

Use the stick on the back of the sink to get the key to the green cabinet from under the fridge.

thanks JoshuaXD,
I must have clicked there 1000 times empty handed.

OK, so that was a nice game. I enjoyed it! But can I just say this - with other games on the JIG list titled "Epic Boss Fighter" and "Awesome Conquest", whereas I just played "Find 10 Yellow Cupcakes!" (even in my mind when I read that title I have to say it with a lilting tone), I just feel like I need to go do a shot of whiskey or something to straighten things out. But it WAS fun.

I hear you, though I just figured they were really yellowcake uranium, and I was trying to gather enough to build some serious WMDs (while eating enough along the way to turn myself into the Toxic Avenger).

thanks darksilvermoon. I was stumped a couple of times, especially the final puzzle but I figured it out. you rock! :)

@JoshuaXD - Your hint about

stick behind the sink

helped me out. I knew I had to do something

under the refrigerator

, but couldn't due to missing an item.

This would be a good "starter" room puzzle. Everything very logical, and a relatively small world to explore with no pixel hunting. It took me a couple of tries to figure out how to combine items, but otherwise, super clear navigation.
