Love the magazines and headlines. J.F. is all over the little details. "Runner's Weekly" is my favorite.
The subcaption reads "The Canabalt Guy".
Wish I could figure out what "Trilby Strikes Again" is a reference to, though.
@SonicLover:
Trilby is a reference to a character in a series of games by Yahtzee (aka Ben Croshaw). He was a gentleman thief. And apparently he just made another heist:)
Sushi Cat Recipes!
(Not that he was a picky eater to begin with...)
:-)
I like the small, wrinkled copy of the Silverlight Game Catalog...poor Microsoft...haha
lol discopanda it's empty! Just has a front and back cover.
My favorite is the "robot wants" reference.
"I know what I want!"
Wow so many references, I see an MCF hidden object mag. They should change the "Collector Edition" name because it only has a guide (usually paid separately), wallpapers, achievements, concept art and a bonus chapter which negates the bad cliff hanger of the original story (can only be played every time you win the game).
Love the Sushi Cat Recipes! I'd be afraid of the portion sizes though...
This does bring up a good point, though.
How many puzzle/hidden object games have turned up on here that have the $14 "Collector's Edition", where you get things like wallpapers (which you'll probably never use), walkthroughs (which you probably won't need), and that's about it? All added to a game that might take you 3 hours, tops, to complete.
I usually don't get these comics because I only play a limited scope of games (mostly point-and-click), but I loved the Trilby reference in this one. :)
You could practically make a hidden-object game out of all the references in this one. Excellent work, JF!
Also: "Better Home and Portal". :D
Cactus McCoy is a fun game-nice to know they mentioned it.
Excellent! Loved the references almost more than the joke.
We appreciate your work here, mr. J.F!
