A fairly decent, fairly standard point-and-click game of the escape-the-room variety that is 50% hunt around to find the missing pieces, and 50% solve the puzzle with the pieces.
Attic Escape will keep you busy for about 20-30 minutes, depending upon your skill level with this type of game. For some, hunting around for the right pixel to click is maddening, and yet this one seems to have things hidden in the logical places you might find in a real attic: around rafters, under boxes, etc. Riddles and clues are provided along the way to keep you moving forward. The information you gather will help to finish the game without need for any spoilers or a walkthrough.
Analysis: Although not a beautiful game, the setting is an attic so the rather drab appearance is appropriate. The game is short, its puzzles logical to solve, and it has a mild difficulty level that should appeal to a wide array of casual gamers. But don't expect a narrative; this one is all game play with a solid implementation and without any noticeable bugs or flakiness. Beware, however, the strategically placed ads along the left border of the game that will cause you to lose the game in progress should you click on one of them.

I love these point ang click games, but I always get stuck. I've got the key, I've got one triangle in yellow and in blue and red I've got two of each. Probably I need a secound yellow one, but cant find it. And what's that "too deep" hole in the wall for? Cant use the key there... help!

This game wasn't too bad, when compared to other point-and-click games it was a bit short game and only took around 5 minutes to complete.
But I do see what you mean about the adverts.. 3rd time lucky.

I must say this was a nifty little game, but the code in the locked panel gave me fits. Perhaps the clues to the colors are a little ethnocentric? I mean, some places, the sky just ain't blue. Nice little 20-minute teaser, though. I personally liked the graphics (though the crow was annoying after a short bit).

for the yellow triangle, you just have to click on alot of stuff randomly to make it work. Also, it REALLY helps if you use the "tab" key to find a key item (no pun intended) to the game, because truthfully you cant notice it!
But if you really cant find the other yellow...

notice in both german and english, the same words are capitalized, though the letters and number of letters are totally different

think of something synonymous with "big hope". This is the least clear portion of the riddle

This is probably one of the most difficult items to find. Look closely at the rafters for an irregularity
Help for the key:
You may have to combine items to extend the key
Look in the rafters
Look for a false door in the rafters that will drop the iron bar
Help for the spider:
It will give you the red piece in exchange for something else
What do spiders eat?
Look behind the boxes.
Help for the raven:
Have you checked out the buttons in the rafters?
Notice how they are numbered when you push the button?

Good game. The only thing I used hints for was the key extension. Took me a while on that one. I'm not very good at these games, but I love to play them. It feels good to actually be able to beat one for once (without a huge amount of hints!)! Thanks for the great game!

That was an enjoyable little game, although I never would have been able to finish it is it weren't for the tabbing trick that was previously posted. :)
I still have no idea what the riddle on the wall means by "a big hope," but I was able to figure out the pattern through deductive reasoning and a little trial-and-error.

It's an interesting game, but like all these "Escape The Rm" Pt & Click puzzles most of the difficulty is in finding the items by arbitrary clicking, not using them once they're located (see Travelogue, one of the worst offenders). I must admit I find it incredibly frustrating & it takes the fun out of the game. Got to say I far prefer stuff I've found on this site like Pinhead Games & Anode & Cathode.

4.Come back to the whole screen and turn left, click on the window and you'll get a blue one.
5.Turn left and click on the broom, and then backwards of it. You'll find a piece of paper.
6.Click on the text and then close to the column on the left, now you have your first red triangle.
7.Come back to the whole screen and click in the top of it.You'll see the roof of the room. Turn right and you'll get a green triangle, keep turning right until you see a spider. Put the fly in amber on his net and the red triangle will fall.
8.Turn right until you see a green triangle, and then twice to the right again. Click on this kind of switch (in this screen you are seeing 2) Now that you see five switches, click the combination of the paper 4412334.
9. Come back to the ground and look for the raven, it has a key! Now look for the red triangle, in the screen you find it, there's something strange on the wall, click on it. Put the key together with the iron stick and drag it into the middle hole on the wall. Then you have the puzzle you have to solve with the poem on the wall. The solution is red yellow blue yellow green green blue red (red=pasion, yellow=sun, green=hope, blue=sea and sky) You'll get a combination that means the times you've got to click on the padlock (in the same order)

I'm very close to finishing the game, but can't find out how to put the triangles in the frame? they should fit in the square you opened with the extended key, right, in the order as indicated by the riddle?
When I drag(click) and drop(click) nothing happens and the triangle is stuck to my mouse pointer....any idea? I double-clicking, triple-clicking etc. but nothing.

I had the same problem when using FireFox with Flash Player 8. The problem was solved when I used Internet Explorer with Flash Player 7 instead.

To find an iron bar, look near the ceiling and click the wood. If you have the key, connect them.

My guess is that it will be back. The server encountered some problems a few days back, and it appears that it has encountered some more. The game is hosted on its own domain, so I'm thinking considerable effort and planning went into setting it up. I think it's unlikely that the game is gone for good.

1st is gettin the triangles
turn left at the 3 boxex click on them then click agen in the darkend area there is a blue
then come out the area
then turn left go to the window and click on thattheres the second blue
now turn left and click on the bottom left hand corner just before the wall u shud seee a ridle thats for later on click left on ya screen there is the 1st red now come out of thereand click on the top of the piller there is ure 1st rednow click left and go back to the 3 boxes clck on the middle left of the boxes and then there is ure 1st yellow now clck upwards and u should see a glowing orange thing get that now go to the wall and click in the middle top area witch will bring ya to a spiders web put the glowing orange thing in the spiders web and the red triabgle should fall down now click to go down and the click right there is the fallen red now go bk to the spiders web and click right 4 times ther is the 2nd green triangle for the last triangle u need to do alot of other things ill explain now
2nd is getting the note
now u have the triangles click down and go left u should see a broom click that and then click again and there should be a note saying
a random sequence on it (changes every time )
3rd is getting the key and the metal rod
for the rod go right 3 times and then ther4e should be three woden beems infront of u click the middle 1 then agen the it shuold opena secret compartment click to go down then there should be a metal rod on the floorpick it up
now for the key
click the top of ure screen click on the left beem the click on the middle of the beem
that should take u to a view of all the beems
for the key look at ure pice of paper and there should be 5 beems with little noble bits on the middle of them the left resembles 1 and the far right resembles 5 (get the picture) go back to the piece of paper with the sequence on then click the beems to match that sequence then a raven should fly down and on to the top of the boxes to get to the boxes click in between the beems then click down again then click on the raven to get the key off its leg
4th combining the key and rod is simple jus drag the onto the rod
5th getting the code for the lock
click left till to the wall were there is a fake panel in click on that and put the combined rod/key in it ther u will find the final yellow click it the for the sequnce of the colours its ( starting at the top left finishing at bottom right)

then a set of numbers should come up (completely random again lol) write them down
come out of the area and go left 2 times then click on the padlock there should be 5 sections the 1st 1 is os for the 1st number (a=1,b=2,c=3,d-4 etc etc)

Be sure to use the correct numbers on the paper in order to free the raven from the rafters.
very easy game,,I had no trouble with the extender,,I lucked into it in the rafters.I had a lil trouble with the poem,, but the rest was a breeze...
Can someone tell me what's supposed to be written on the paper? The stupid flash player for linux doesn't always display text correctly, and I can only assume there's supposed to be something written on it as I certainly can't figure out how to solve that code.
Never mind; what's written on the paper changes? In that case I'm just screwed. Oh well.

I liked that game, apart from all the things around them. i kept getting far then clicking on something, so i had to start again <:( All the hint here helped me. The only problem was (after having to start agian) i couldnt remember where i found sme of the things!

OH DEAR GOD, I AM SO PISSED!!!!!
I have somhow managed to accidentally drop the green square behind the ONE item that does not move on the supply menu, and so I cannot get it out. I have to restart the puzzle. I hope I find everything again...
and of course now the game is reloading and take four times as long. it loaded in a minute before. Now I'm on three minutes at 61%. ARG
whoo, yep. Reloaded, found it all again, got out. Wimpy crap ending though. :(
And yes, for the record, I did figure out the triangle puzzle on my own.
Definitely a fun game. Only two problems.
1. Finding the bar. Although in retrospect it was a bit obvious, I guess I just wasn't looking closely enough.
2. Getting behind the broom. I tried looking behind it right away, but I guess I wasn't clicking in the right spot. I gave up on it until I found out that there was something behind it.

for people who are stuck on the rod,
go to the window with the white bars, go right twice and there will be a wall with 3 wooden things (if you count the one on the side):P on the one that is about in the middle, there will be a redish orangish spot on it. click that spot, it will open, and the rod should fall out
the full walkthrough
First let's start with everything you can find without looking up. First look at the second beam you can see. See that little rectangle on it where it has a different colour? Click there. Then click the rectangle again. Look back down and take the small iron stick.
Turn left once. Click the hole between the three boxes. Click the bottom of the lower box and take the blue triangle.
Click a little over the top left corner of the left box. Take the yellow triangle. While still in that view, click behind the upper box and get the fly in amber.
Back to the view where you can see the 3 of the boxes. Click left to face the window. Click the left part of the window and collect the blue triangle.
Turn left again. Click the broom and then the corner behind it. Collect the paper.
Click the text on the wall. Read it, it's important. Notice the capitalized words? Remember the order the TEXT gives, not the order in which they appear. While still facing the wall, click the column you can see in the bottom left corner of the screen and take the red triangle.
Turn left until you are back where you started.
Click the upper part of the screen to look up.
Click left and you will see a few switches. Click one of them and you will see a screen with all 5 of them. Click the switches in the order you got on your paper (changes every time you play). If you did it correctly, a raven flies from the roof. We'll take care of him later. Click the lower part of the screen to get back to the view where you clicked the first switch.
Click left and get the green triangle.
Click 2x more left and get the next green triangle.
Again 2x left and you see a spider web with a red triangle. Click and drag the fly in amber from your inventory to the web. When the spider is at the fly, click the red triangle and it falls down.
Back to the floor. Click right and get the red triangle that fell down. Click right 4x and you will see the raven Click the raven and get the silver key behind his left leg.
Click left or right 4x and you will face a hole in the wall. Click it and try to use your key on it. It tells you, that it's too deep. Now what? Right you still have that iron stick. Click and drag your iron stick on the key to combine both.
Use your key on a stick with the hole. And you will see a grid of triangles. Click the yellow one that is already there and take it.
Now remember that verse on the wall? Use the triangle in the combination you got there.
1st row red, yellow, blue, yellow
2nd row green, green, blue, red
After solving that puzzle it gives you a few random numbers. Note those numbers!
Click left twice to face the exit with a lock. You have to enter those numbers on the lock on the floor. But how? Hint: A=1, B=2.....Z=26
The door opens and you are free.

A great puzzler, but since I am often terrible at pixel hunts, I just couldn't get the extender. Read three hints before I finally got it. The rest is the kind of stuff I like in games. Quite a pleasure.

For anyone whos having any toruble with game heres the walkthrough:
First let's start with everything you can find without looking up. First look at the second beam you can see. See that little rectangle on it where it has a different colour? Click there. Then click the rectangle again. Look back down and take the small iron stick.
Turn left once. Click the hole between the three boxes. Click the bottom of the lower box and take the blue triangle.
Click a little over the top left corner of the left box. Take the yellow triangle. While still in that view, click behind the upper box and get the fly in amber.
Back to the view where you can see the 3 of the boxes. Click left to face the window. Click the left part of the window and collect the blue triangle.
Turn left again. Click the broom and then the corner behind it. Collect the paper.
Click the text on the wall. Read it, it's important. Notice the capitalized words? Remember the order the TEXT gives, not the order in which they appear. While still facing the wall, click the column you can see in the bottom left corner of the screen and take the red triangle.
Turn left until you are back where you started.
Click the upper part of the screen to look up.
Click left and you will see a few switches. Click one of them and you will see a screen with all 5 of them. Click the switches in the order you got on your paper (changes every time you play). If you did it correctly, a raven flies from the roof. We'll take care of him later. Click the lower part of the screen to get back to the view where you clicked the first switch.
Click left and get the green triangle.
Click 2x more left and get the next green triangle.
Again 2x left and you see a spider web with a red triangle. Click and drag the fly in amber from your inventory to the web. When the spider is at the fly, click the red triangle and it falls down.
Back to the floor. Click right and get the red triangle that fell down. Click right 4x and you will see the raven Click the raven and get the silver key behind his left leg.
Click left or right 4x and you will face a hole in the wall. Click it and try to use your key on it. It tells you, that it's too deep. Now what? Right you still have that iron stick. Click and drag your iron stick on the key to combine both.
Use your key on a stick with the hole. And you will see a grid of triangles. Click the yellow one that is already there and take it.
Now remember that verse on the wall? Use the triangle in the combination you got there.
1st row red, yellow, blue, yellow
2nd row green, green, blue, red
After solving that puzzle it gives you a few random numbers. Note those numbers!
Click left twice to face the exit with a lock. You have to enter those numbers on the lock on the floor. But how? Hint: A=1, B=2.....Z=26
The door opens and you are free.

Well, apparently I can't play it. I get a "Failed to connect" message after like half a minute of a white screen
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.atticescape.com.
Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.
I'm getting a "Failed to Connect" message.... -_-

I understand the concept of A=1; B=2....but, when I played the game it only gave me two numbers 7 & 3....73 could there be a bug? Or, am I stupidly missing something?

@ Flossie and Gabe -- I'm having the same issue as the two of you...my clue (from the triangle window) for the padlock was 64. Perhaps it's a bug due to the game now being on a mirror site.

It has to be a bug because Macy L. clearly got a code with five different numbers for five letters. All I got was 74.
I know where the 2nd red triangle is, but I don't know how to get it. What do I do?
I've played twice and got two digit codes both times. 94 and 55.
Yet another game that I came very close to finishing and then was unable due to an apparent bug! This is very frustrating! Do these links ever get checked once they are put up to make sure the games still work they way they are supposed to? I understand there is a lot of content here, but its really frustrating to play through a game only to find it unfinishable!
