On the topic of game design competitions, Brian Crecente over at Kotaku sends word that he's currently running a game design challenge to create a game about teen dating violence without using any violence. I'm glad to see that they extended the deadline another month.
I've designed something for this, producing it with a few others. The key is, there are other kinds of violence than physical violence. Once you realize that, there's a pretty ripe design space to play in.
