Myosotis 3

elleTrapped in a dream, in time, or in some cruel joke, Rick continues searching for Lily, hoping to change events and prevent an unhappy end to this surreal noir mystery adventure, Myosotis: Chapter 3. You begin by leading Rick through his alternative reality, examining unique elements of each scene to propel him forward, as he wonders what kind of sick game someone is playing with his head (and you might wonder the same thing), while the narrative bridges the gap between Chapter 2 and this latest chronicle. Then you'll encounter a series of five puzzles which must be solved before each door is unlocked, hoping to find Lily safe behind the last one.

Rick's plight, which began earlier in Mike Morin's Myosotis series, takes a strange turn this time about. It might disappoint some fans because it differs slightly from the first two's format and ends rather quickly, yet this chapter boasts its own artistic merits. Here the puzzles are more direct and the entire chapter, being shorter, feels like a half step before the next installment, yet everything from the gameplay to Hania Lee's mesmerizing vocals succeeds in communicating Rick's warped-dream-like undertaking into a concrete experience for the player. Myosotis: Chapter 3 remains engaging, as well as appealing to the eyes and ears, and is an enjoyable addition to a lovely series that once again leaves us hanging, questions still on the lips and "to be continued" stamped across a black screen.

Myosotis: Chapter 3 Walkthrough

Introduction and First Scenes

  1. For the first few scenes, watch and read the narrative.

  2. When you reach the city full of "Ricks everywhere," click on some of the elements to move through the narrative.

  3. In the alleyway, click on the axe-wielding Rick, then the man slouched by the lamp post, and The Pink Drink's sign.

  4. Inside the bar, click ONCE anywhere...then wait. You should progress to the next scene automatically.

  5. At "Wrong Numbers," click on the computer then click on the door. That will bring you to a series of five puzzle rooms.

  6. In each room, slick on the puzzle box (next to where Rick is standing) and solve the puzzle. The hint on the digital sign will help you get going.

  7. When you're finished, click the red "X" in the upper right corner to close out of that puzzle then click the door on the left side of the room to move on.

"You're being used. Like a pawn."

Change each of the symbols inside the colored square to match the clue words (associated by color), on the left.

"Fix the six blind serpents."

Change each of the die to "1"...effectively making 3 pairs of snake eyes...or 6 one-eyed serpents.

"Lose lose lose lose lose lose."

Use the six "X" on the tic-tac-toe board without winning (i.e. do not place six in a row in any direction).

Argh! Every time we think we're getting somewhere...

Intriguing part of the series; I just wish it were longer.

I'd find this franchise's pace extremely frustrating if it didn't nail its aesthetic and atmosphere so perfectly each time.

LOVE games like this! And I've recognized the singer from other games besides this series...they have gotten stuck in my head so much that I went and bought her album!

Can't wait for the next part to come out! My only aggravation is that it sometimes runs slow on my computer. Anyone else have that problem?
