Poor Reemus. He can't catch a break. After being overshadowed by his brother all his life, the paunchy exterminator finally has the chance to save the kingdom and be a real hero... provided he can prove he's got what it takes to the most deadly foe of all... a governmental filing system! The Several Journeys of Reemus: Chapter 4, the latest point-and-click adventure from Jay "Zeebarf" Ziebarth and Steve Castro of ClickShake Games, follows the titular mustachioed do-gooder and his cuddly-wuddly sidekick/problem solver Liam as they struggle to get their application together. That might not sound very exciting, but the Department of Heroic Quests wants more than a neatly formatted cover letter...
To get permission to save the kingdom, Reemus and Liam need to get three heroic quest references, a "danger sample", and then submit their form "online" if they want to avoid the lengthy filing time. Fortunately for them, there's a corkboard nearby full of pleas from people who need all sorts of help. Just click and choose what mini-adventure you want to set out on, in any order you like, though eventually you'll need to complete all of them to proceed. Items you gather are stowed in your inventory at the top left of the screen, right next to the map that lets you navigate around the kingdom to the different quests available. Each quest is self contained; it has everything you need to finish it within its particular set of areas, so all you have to do is figure out how to make it all work together. Click the arrows at the bottom of the screen to navigate around and experiment. After all, this is Reemus and Liam we're talking about here; if their problem solving involved anything less than kidnapping via potato-men, slavering death slugs, and a whole lot of head lice, we wouldn't be nearly as interested. That's right, you monsters; they face peril for your amusement.
Analysis: The Several Journeys of Reemus is one of the most popular adventure series on the site, and just playing one of them should tell you why. They have a knack for blending surreal environments, oddball humour, and bizarre characters that makes them easily stand out from the pack. It's been almost three years since the release of Chapter 3, during which time the developers were working on certain large Reemus-related projects, but Chapter 4 provides a great return to form with everything we've come to expect. The quests are creative and silly, the designs are quirky and imaginative, and, of course, the game is more than a little funny. While splitting the game up into a bunch of smaller quests seems odd at first, it actually works in the game's favour, since it allows you to explore a wider variety of locations and scenarios.
Those pocket adventures also means the game flows really nicely, allowing you to hop between them at your leisure without forcing you to hunt down solutions or items in different locations. Instead, by keeping everything contained, Chapter 4 never really feels that difficult because it's so good at providing you with exactly what you need, and you always know everything else must be close by. The puzzles are as bizarre as always, and again make use of their environments and characters in clever ways that encourage you to submerge yourself in the series' signature brand of logic. It's weird, but it works, and it's part of what makes Reemus and his adventures so great. The Several Journeys of Reemus: Chapter 4 is a bit longer than previous installments, though it will probably still be over too soon for most fans... but of course there are also other new ways to get your Reemus fix if you're interested. While it doesn't really provide any new or innovative gameplay, Chapter 4 still serves up all the action, humour, and strangeness you've come to expect and love from the series, and you should definitely fire it up.

Several Journeys of Reemus Chapter 4:
Beastly Blackhole of Bureaucracy
Walkthrough and Tips Guide
INTRODUCTION
Reemus has a grand quest to get through. Unfortunately it seems that Bureacracy will be a tougher beast than any other he's faced. He'll need three heroic references, a danger sample from a quest, and successfully submit it "on-line".
Click the hero-postings builletin board, and select a task to take on. The game is divided into a series of self-contained quests.
NEED HELP WITH HORNETS
Your first clue is in the form of a rebus. "FOUR+S O+PEN 1ST ROUND HOE+L IN THREE-H TRUNK". In other words "Force open the first round hole in the tree trunk."
Click the hose to pick it up.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow. Pick up the tree bark shield that's lying on the ground.
Go to the left by clicking the arrow. Click the shield in your inventory to equip it. Click the fire thistle that's sticking out of the fence. This will cause the hornet to lodge his stinger in your shield.
Click the stinger and the fire thistle to pick them up.
Go to the right. Click the stinger in your inventory, then the larger round hole in the middle of the tree trunk. You'll get a slingshot and another coded message.
SCARF F=E BOWL-B OFF PIE+N. Or, in other words, "Scare owl off pine."
Go to the right by clicking the arrow, then to the right again. Click a rock on the ground to pick it up.
Click the slingshot in your inventory, then click the owl to fire a rock at him. That'll scare him off!
Go to the left. Click the hose in your inventory, then click the pool of water nearest to the top of the screen.
Go to the right. Click the hose to fill the hornet's nest with water. Click the fire thistle in your inventory, then the hole in the tree trunk to do a little bug exterminating! Good job! One reference down!
TONIC SALESMAN SEEKING ASSISTANCE
The tonic salesman needs help getting rid of the lice that inhabits the stall next to him. Completing this task will require the mixing of quite a few potions. Click on the tonics to bring up the mixing screen.
Making a tonic involves clicking a "passive potion" then an "activation agent". There are three of each kind, labeled by an initial that suggests their effects. H = Hair, P = Plant, S = Shirt, R = Removal, G = Growth, and C = Cleaner.
First we need to make that vegetable salesman take off his filthy coat. Mix P and G for a Plant Growth formula. Click the labeled vial, then click the tomato plant.
Now let's worry about the filthy shirt. Mix S and R for a Shirt Removal formula. Click the labeled vial, then click the vegetable salesman's shirt.
It'll be hard to kill those lice if they're hiding in chest hair. Mix H and R for a Hair Removal formula. Click the labeled vial, then click the vegetable salesman's chest pelt.
Let's get those lice somewhere where we can deal with them. Mix H and G to make a Hair Growth formula. Click the labeled vial, then click the vegetable salesman's head.
Go to the potion making screen and click the head-lice removal potion. Click the vegetable salesman's afro. Ding, dong the lice are dead!
Okay, let's make Veggie Guy a little more presentable. Mix S and C for a Shirt Growth formula. Click the labeled vial, then click the Vegetable salesman's chest.
That afro is a little distracting. Go to the potion screen. Click the Hair Removal potion, then click the vegetable salesman's afro. Quest complete!
SEEKING HERO TO HELP W/GOLIATH BEETLE PROBLEM
That's one large beetle! Click the piece of wood on the ground to pick it up.
Click the Goliath Beetle. Reemus will try a little verbal intimidation. While it won't work, it will jar loose a board. Click the beetle again to make the board fall off completely.
Click the stick in your inventory, then click the orange firebug on the left of the screen. Once you have the torch, click the orange Beetle Bombs right below the Goliath's head.
Click the Pill Bug to pick it up. Click the Pill Bug in your Inventory, then click Goliath for insect negotiation. Now the Pill Bug has become a Protected Bug.
Click the stick in your inventory, then click the small rock at the bottom middle of the screen. Then click the bigger rock just to its right to push it into the river.
Click the board to prop it up against the rock. You have a pretty good catapult now, but you'll need some momentum to set it off.
Click the Protected Bug in your inventory. Click the top of the waterfall to send him hurtling into the lever. One more click of the Goliath, and it's Bye Bye Beetle! That's all quest three references!
DANGER ALERT AT THE BEACH
A Death Slug would be a perfect danger sample, and this is the perfect place to get one. Click the seaweed in the water to pick it up.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow. Go up by clicking the arrow. Click the sheep to free it from the chain.
Go back by clicking the left arrow, then click it again to go to the beach. Click the seaweed in your inventory, then click the bent tree to make a trap. Click the bent tree so Reemus will lie in wait.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow, then go up. On the right side of the tree, there's a pod stuck in a sap hole. It blends in pretty well, but if you click it, you'll get some metal-attracting sap on your hands.
Go back by clicking the left arrow. Click the key. The sap will attract it to your hand!
Go left by clicking the arrow. Click the metal key in your inventory, then the lock on the treasure chest. You'll get the shepherd's pie.
Go up by clicking the arrow. Click the shepherd's pie in your inventory, then click the shepherd. Now that he's asleep, click the crook to swipe it.
Go back by clicking the arrow, then to the right, then up to the sheep. Click the crook, and the sheep will start to follow you.
Go back down the mountain, then back to the beach. Click the metal ring embedded in the sand to insert the crook.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow. Click the death slug. Now you've got your proof of danger!
GETTING ON-LINE PART 1 - ACROBATTY
Now that you're back at the castle, go to On-Line Submission area by clicking the right arrow. Huh. That's a lot of submissions clogging up the line-width.
Click the arrow to return to the department. Click the Hero Postings Bulletin Board and select the Acrobat Lessons posting.
The lessons are cancelled? Let's see what we can do about that. The clown will tell you there will be no lessons as long as Acrobat Klaus is still held hostage by the Potatomen. Click the chalk by the Circus Sign to pick it up.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow. Click to talk to that entirely unsuspicious "talent scout". Looks like we'll need some clown make-up if we hope to rescue Klaus.
Click the red fruit on the hanging branch for a clown nose for Liam. Click the brown berry to pick it up for later.
Go to the left by clicking the arrow. Click the chalk in your inventory on the sign. While the clown is distracted, click his "Tickle Trunk" to loot some hair gel.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow, then to the right again. Click the long red fruit hanging from the tree to pick it up. Click the long fruit in your inventory, then click the green sucker plant.
Click the Brown Berry in your inventory, then click the red goo to dye it for Reemus's red nose.

Click the tree to pick up another long red fruit. Go to the left by clicking the arrow, then to the left again. Click the fruit in your inventory, then click the clown's drink to spike it.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow. Click the Alcoholic Fruit in your inventory, then click the Balding Eagle. Now Liam has a wig!
Click the tree trunk at the bottom left. A fly will buzz out to be eaten by the shocker plant. When the shocker plant is open, click it to give Reemus and Liam a shock crazy hair!
Go to the left by clicking the arrow. Talk to the Talent Scout. Almost there!
GETTING ONLINE PART 2 - UNDERGROUND IDOL
That's some set-up those Potatomen have. Let's see if we can get Klaus out of here. Click the potato sack and let it drop. Click the hanger to pick it up.
Alright, this puzzle can be a toughie. You'll only be able to escape if the potatomen are asleep, and they'll only sleep if the minstrel is constantly playing.
You can mess with the remote control charges by using the hanger, but the antennas need to be placed correctly. Start by clicking the hanger in your inventory, then place it on the center TV.
Position the antennae so that the one on the left TV is pointing to the right. Position the one on the right TV so that it's facing to the left. They anntenae and hanger should be in the shape of an "M". Now that the Potatomen are asleep, you can make a run for it.
Once you're back at the castle, click the arrow to go to the On-Line Submissions Screen. Click the sign and submit. Hmm... looks like we'll need to delay the invasion so the bureaucracy can work.
INVASION DELAY-SION
There are several ways to delay the invasion. To prepare for all three, You'll have to return to previous quest locales using the Map screen.
Return to the potion salesman. Click and pick up the Hair Growth and Plant Growth Formulae.
Go back to the hornet's lair. Another Coded message! "DIG MOOSE M=L ROCKET-ET ONE-E SM+BALL-B EYELAND", or, in other words "Dig Loose Rock On Small Island." Click the shovel to pick it up.
Go to the right by clicking the arrow. Then go to the right again. Click the shovel, then click the loose rock on the small island. Now you have a stash of stingers!
Go to the Goliath Beetle. Talk to him by clicking him. He'll now be waiting by the cliffs.
Use the Map to Return to the Cliffs. Okay! Now time to decide what ending you want!
