You're too stressed out, man. Don't worry, brother, I feel ya. You got all these things flyin' about. You got your fast food and your internets and your rush hour traffic and your pre meeting meetings and your post meeting meetings. Your life force is stretched to the limits and your chi is all out of whack and it's crazy, dude. Crazy! You need to decompress, man. You need to just chill out and do something to help bring some calmitude into your life. You need to do something like play the relaxing puzzle game Light UP, man.
See, it's really easy now. You just eliminate the frosted spheres on the board until your lighted sphere touches and it lights up the rest of the unlit transparent spheres. It's that easy dude, no joke. I told you I would take care of you. Oh, right, later on you'll come across some blue spheres that make the lighted spheres bounce real high (you can even make some of your own on some levels), and you can only remove a limited number of spheres on each level, but what good is harmony of the soul if you don't work for it, right man?
And, okay, fine, maybe it's not exactly as easy as I made it sound. There's this rudimentary ball physics engine working in the background that lends a little bit of complexity to your puzzle solving, but that just makes the game more fun. On the other hand, there's only twenty levels meaning that not only does this leave a lot of the mechanics here unexplored, but you're little trip to peaceful land won't be very long lived. Sorry about that, man.
So if the fast pace of modern life is bogging you down man, just take a few minutes, listen to the sublime acoustic guitar tunes, and realign your inner peace with these balls of light, dude. You won't regret it.
This type of game is not usually my bag (baby), but this one has me hooked. The presentation is clean and simple, the gameplay is intuitive and I dig the music. Nice work!
level 16 seems broken to me I have touching balls but no lights. Even resorted to looking at the walkthrough link. I'd figured out what they displayed but it was not working. Shame. Up until that point I was quite enjoying it.
I can't get past level 16. I can see what I need to do but I end up with a chain of spheres where only the three on the left hand side are lit. The remaining five stay unlit even though they form a continuous chain with the three lit spheres. Anyone else having this problem?
Power of the post. Looks like it may take some time for level 16 to settle out fully but when I returned to the game after my first post I was on level 17.
For Level 16...
You have to make fine adjustments to your timing on this one because if you are off just a little bit, what will happen is there will be a hairline space that forms between two of the light up balls. Sometimes they will settle out if you wait long enough, but for the most part it is a trick getting the lit ball to come in at full speed, that usually works.
I might be wrong, but the song used in-game is Tommy Emmanuel's "Since We Met" from the "Only" album. It was really nice to find out it's been used here. :)
And I've got to admit I really enjoyed the game. Good work!
Nice game although (and apologies for the slightly off topic-ness of this) I have to take issue with Gameslist when I clicked through to their site (which anyone could do as it's not age-rated) and found thirteen games on the splash page with naked women and titles like [snip... point made. I'm going to try to contact them myself. Thanks for pointing it out, jim. -Jay]
I absolutely know that it's not JIG's responsibility but please do let the Gameslist people know if you're a little unhappy about that kind of attitude (there's a contact bit at the top).
I'm not usually a prude but it would be a bit more cool if they had a sub-category that at least shielded some of these from people like my nephew who is 6 who I show a lot of the JIG games to and who can quite happily wait until he grows up to discover all the awesome things that he can do with his nadgers.
(yes I am aware I'm probably increasing traffic to their site now)
Ooooh all this from clicking on light-bulbs!?
I really liked this game. Very soothing, simple gameplay, and it didn't drag on too long. Often I'll play this type of game up to a certain point then realize there are still thirty or forty more levels to go, but with this one I finished level 20 and that was it. Very nice, not frustrating at all.
Bit of a problem, Macs have it hardcoded that ctrl+click=right click. Anyone have a way around this? I can't get past Lv. 11
Ah, found a way around the problem. Just hold Command and click.
Everyone was easy, but not 17...cant figure it out
There's a better way for level 16 (I'm using cardinal directions to explain relative position; hope it's not confusing):
Turn the bulb blue that is SW of the lit bulb. Just before the lit bulb lands, remove the bulb that is NW of the "lightable" in the bottom right corner. Wait for the blue bulb to bounce the lit bulb to its E onto the last "lightable" bulb.
I've tried it 5 or 6 times with consistent results.
For 17:
Quickly remove the 2 bulbs directly NW of the "lightable" bulb. Then quickly remove the 2 bulbs SE of the lit bulb.
Slightly sexist tone to review nes pas?
Are you insinuating all game heads are pubescent boys and slackers?
[mother raises eyebrows]
@Vienna
From my reading, the review is mimicking the laid back west-coast surfer speak, where everything ends in "dude" or "bro"
@Vienna
The game is called 'Light Up' like lighting up weed, so I think it's supposed to read like a stoner wrote it.
c, you're reading too much into it. Then again, so is Vienna. OfficiallyHaphazard is right.
@debaser: Thanks for the simpler solution to Level 16. (And Level 17, which I accidentally read as well before trying it.)
Now that I've finished: Besides the little bug on Level 16, the game's very easy. But I suppose it's supposed to be, given the nature of the game and the pleasant accompanying music. Not bad.
Oh Groovy Man. I like, nearly passed out just reading the game review dude.
I can dig it.
Woah I was unpleasantly surprised when I beat level 20 and discovered that the game was over. I had just started to get into it and was eagerly anticipating some harder puzzles. Too bad. :( It was a really good game and I think they could do a lot more with this.
Hmm. I've been playing happily up to level 11, but now it asks me to control+click... which on my mac, happens to be the same as right-clicking. I am now unable to progress any further!
EXCEPT -- I just remembered a workaround as I was typing this up. Other Mac users, if you're having this problem, if you hold SHIFT and COMMAND together, flash games like this act as if you pressed the control key.
Terrible controls, game should be marked Windows only as CTRL-Clicking on the Mac is not supported in Flash.
Played and enjoyed up to level 17, decided to take a break and closed the game. Came back, reloaded the game and my progress was gone.
Probably won't bother to replay all those levels just for the last three. Pity.
i can not figure out level 17 it's making me mad
I just beat level 20 without using the ball remove!
Use the blue ball on the ball to the bottom right and wait. You may need to try more than once. I think. It wont load!
this is a cool game but the balls move... sooo... sllooow...
is this just my computer failing? because if not, I'm not very satisfied with that. :/
nvm, it was my computer being slow! hehe
lv 12 is driving me crazy! any help?
make Lighted = lit and its all good
Can you please help me on level 19?
To all those Mac users who are complaining about Ctrl-Click:
Use Command-Click. It works just the same. This has been suggested above by Cake, but people seem to still be stuck.
