JayCow Room EscapeCow Room Escape is a significantly more difficult room escape game than its hard-shelled brother. For this game's ultimate combo-lock puzzle, you're looking for several different colored coins and you will really have to use your wits if you are to find them all.

There are a couple more difficult pixel hunts that are present in this one, so if you're one that is easily turned off by this, then you might want to try a different one. In particular, there is a spot on part of the tall cabinet where you will need to get one item from. Knowing that should hopefully get you by. Again, the descriptions are entirely in Japanese, and this may tend to make the game a bit more difficult than necessary.

Remember to use all the resources available to you, and that some things may be dirty and require a good cleaning.

Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

Love the site, Jay! Gonna try my first post & first walkthrough here...

Walkthrough for Normal Ending:

  1. Look at symbol on clock. Adjust blue box accordingly. Click center empty square to open box for BLUE coin.

  2. Click top of leftmost wooden cabinet to find TV remote. Use on TV. Click/drag black box on TV to see a password (257412). Then click right arrow to get GREEN coin from back of TV.

  3. On screen with sink, click bottom right corner of the cubby-hole that the glass is sitting in to find a sheet of grid paper. Take cup and fill it with water from the sink.

  4. Use glass and grid paper on sink to fill both with water.

  5. Use filled glass on plant to obtain GOLD coin. Then rinse GOLD coin off in sink to obtain YELLOW coin 1.

  6. Click under desk with chair, at the bottom right corner. Pick up YELLOW coin 2 in bottom left corner of this screen.

  7. Notice the yellow smudge under desk? Use grid paper filled with water on smudge to reveal an arrow. Click up above the arrow until you can take PURPLE coin.

  8. Click around shadow under the sink to find a key. Use key on water fountain to obtain a screwdriver.

  9. Click near the floor to the left of the desk with chair until you see a wall outlet. Use screwdriver here to obtain RED coin.

  10. Now you have all 6 coins to place in the door, so you need a sequence...

  11. Remember the code from the TV? Try matching that somehow with the colored-dot painting.

  12. 257412 I counted 2 Yellow, 5 Blue, 7 Red, 4 Green, 1 Purple. (Not sure whether yellow1 and yellow2 can be switched around or not)...but I got the code to be (from left to right) {Yellow/Blue/Red/Green/Purple/Yellow}

  13. Click dot on far right of code (hopefully it turns Red). Click back once, then click door handle and you're out!

Not sure how to go about any other endings, but hope that helps someone!

First of the cows???

Have three color coins. Now stuck.

Reply

I have found four of the colored discs...

Green:

behind the tv (Turn it on with the remote that was on top of the big wooden cabinet thing... click/drag the black bar at the top of the tv screen to reveal the numbers on the tv: 257412

Red:

in the plant (fill the glass with water from the sink; pour into plant)

Yellow:

In the wooden box, next to the plant (the key is in the shadow of the sink on the floor)

Blue:

Solve the blue box puzzle by matching the clock's logo

But that's all I've got so far...

Reply

Ok...

Found the other two:

Purple:

under the desk (click on the bottom-right, beside the chair)

Yellower? :

also under the desk (use the water on the paper you got from the wooden cabinet to clean away the smudge under the desk...it's an orange arrow pointing up... clicking above leads you to the disc, taped to the underside of the desk)

Reply

I have 5 coins and a

screwdriver from locked brown cabinet

Reply

I have all coins & know where they go but not 'how' they go...any ideas?

Reply

oops... in my above comment, I messed up:

(My instructions for RED and YELLOW are reversed)

Yellow (actually meant RED):

the SCREWDRIVER is in the wooden box (use key), then you have to remove the electrical outlet (to the lower-left of the desk) with the screwdriver to get the RED disc)

The strange yellow color disc:

must be cleaned in the sink to make it bright yellow

Now that you have all discs:

You must use the TV digits and the painting to figure out the order for the exit

Final disc order:

Count the number dots for each color on the painting

Here's the actual order:

Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, Purple, Yellow

That's the NORMAL END.

For PERFECT END:

Go back to the TV and check out the cow before you leave!

That should do it.

i think

the numbers that come up when you turn on the tv and the picture with the dots, is the order the coins go in

Hint: Play a little with TV screen......count coloured circles......remember the sink?

Reply

I cant find red coin i have all other co;ors, and a red screwdriver help

Reply

The order the coins go in

the numbers on the tv screen and the picture with the dots

Reply

if you have a screwdriver...

check around the desk

& you'll find...

a power outlet on the left side to use it on

Hmmm... I can't seem to get the order of the dots... even after reading the walkthrough! How do you make the TV not just show crazy squiggles?

Reply

Ignore me... just did it... but the door still is not opening even after putting in the right code...

Reply

Then you still do something wrong because it sure did open for me :)

Reply

To get a perfect ending

get everything done, go to the TV screen, and check it out. It'll show something other than crazy squiggles.

I can't find the right spot to click to get Yellow coin #2... I've checked the walkthrough and it says

Click under desk with chair, at the bottom right corner. Pick up YELLOW coin 2 in bottom left corner of this screen...

I keep doing that but I'm always taken to

the orange arrow that led me to the purple coin.

. The rest of the desk remains unclickable.

What am I missing here? :/

Reply

PERFECT END

Follow the walkthrough, but don't go out the door when the color code turns red.

Go back to the television.

Behold the cow! Now exit.

I liked that

the yellow circle buried in the dirt had to be washed clean. Presumably for the color reader.

Ok, I did it, but for some strange reason I was able to get Yellow coin 2 ONLY when

having Yellow coin 1 selected

Having problems finding Yellow. Is the order important? Already found Purple.

yojimbo 30 August 6, 2008 12:19 PM

Ahh...ha! I had a problem with the two different shades of yellow coins and couldn't escape...

wash the darker one in the sink first to make it the same color

Reply

I can't find that second Yellow coin....

Looked all over the desk, under the chair, just can't seem to click on the right spot to find it ..

oh well ...

Reply

To find the yellow coin:

When you look under the desk, you'll find either a yellow smudge or an orange arrow. It's at the bottom of that screen, where it looks like a floor. The coin looks kinda orange-ish because of the dim light

Reply

Can't find the yellow coin? All good suggestions above, but this is if you are still having trouble.

Hit print screen, paste it in paint and invert the colors. Now you should be able to see a sorta purple spot that is the coin. Even then I had trouble getting it, I couldn't see it I could only approximate where to click. Got it after about 5 clicks.

Reply

Even with SHA's hint( and a good one to remember) it took me a dozen tries to get that last coin. Never would have found it without help.

Reply

I can't find a glass or cup anywhere - what am I doing wrong?

Reply

@ RJ - Me neither. I've looked and clicked everywhere, even tried restarting a couple of times but it never shows up.

Reply

I know, I don't see it anywhere...

Reply

RJ, sillybuttons I can't find the glass/cup either!!! It's driving me nuts!

Reply

I'm not seeing a glass/cup, either--the one full walkthrough claims it's supposed to be in the same 'cubbyhole' as another item, but all I saw is that item, not the glass. :-/

Reply

Read on other site that the glass is on the LEFT side of the cabinet at the SAME height as the towel/paper/envelope.

I'm using IE7 ? Maybe that's it?

Reply

Nope--I'm using Firefox, and there's no glass. I can find the towel just fine, but can't find a glass anywhere in that section.

Reply

I've clicked everywhere on that cabinet, still no luck...

Reply

Just tried it on IE and can't find it there either...

Reply

I just saw a walkthrough on another site that had a video of it--and *that* shows a very obvious goblet-type glass on that shelf. I think something's messed up in whatever version of the game the link here is pointing to. :-(

[Edit: The links here point to the correct site. Try looking inside the cabinet. The authors have evidently changed this game since the walkthrough was published. -Jay]

Reply

Thanks Jay. I downloaded the latest flash player & firefox. No luck.
The version must be changed... maybe that's why the site was down earlier?

In any case I can't find the the cup/glass/goblet and the cabinet does not open. Ah well.

Reply

that's lame, i've found everything but that stupid cup, and that was on my own.

Reply

Sorry but i tried it two times and cannot see any glasses or cups to be filled with water..
Pls if anyone knows how and where to find this glass or cup, pls pls tell me..

Reply

Has anybody successfully completed the game since the cup was moved/removed?

Obviously the top-of-screen FAQ is no longer correct; I can't get into the cabinets as Jay suggests. I have all of the other coins, but cannot get the one out of the planter, the one that theoretically requires the cup. Can anybody verify that this game is still solvable?

Reply

I had the same problem with the disappearing cup. Very frustrating... I made every attempt to complete the game without help, only to discover that the game may be impossible.

I thought I was finally going to finish an escape game without checking the walkthrough... only to find out that a key item is missing from the game!
So frustrating :(

Reply

This game is very unique indeed. What makes it so unique is the fact that before you can go for the pixel-hunt, you have to find the entire game first.

It says:

Service Temporarily Unavailable.

I clicked for a while around without finding any pixels or the game itself. Too tuff for me.

Rainer von der Pfalz.

Reply

Glass is still missing - and hunting the web it seems no-one else has had any luck either finding the glass or completing the game without it.
Oh well.

Reply

That is really frustrating. Especially since I actually managed to get everything up to that point by myself! Only to not be able to finish!

The game should really be removed, or at least flagged as unfinishable! A real disappointment!
