A new Game for the Brain
Philip Lenssen was very kind to send word that he has a brand new game added to his collection of Games for the Brain.
LetterMaze is a sesquipedalian game in which the player first memorizes the spelling of two long words. Next, a maze is presented within which the mouse is used to simply touch spell the words within the time limit.
The game is easy to understand but not quite as easy to master. The time limit provides just the right challenge to make the game good fun. Click.
Be sure to check out all of Philip's games, many of them previously introduced here. Click.
Interesting, but hard to control with mouseover. Plus, I am 99.9% sure it provided me with unsolvable maze where there was no way to place the words.
Tonypa - You may have to reuse a letter, which is allowed. Could that have been the problem?
Yes, I figured that out, jay, but I still had a word which could not be created in the stage (wish I had taken the screen shot). I am not 100% sure, I might be blind and dumb too :)
Tony, if you do send a screenshot I'll check into it. I'd say it's impossible there was an unsolvable maze, because I programmed every maze to be solvable (they are generated automatically), but there may be a bug in my program of course.
PS: I also programmed it so that it's always very likely there are letters reused to solve the word. I thought that would be more fun & a little harder :)
Sometimes, you even need to go back several letters from the word you already spelled to continue.
E.g. "spelled" --> "..elle.." that would be two in a row back and forth.
Hi Philip, I tried for about an hour to see unsolvable maze again, but it did not happen. So, I guess, I just didnt see the answer first time I thought the maze was not correct.
Sorry about causing trouble without the reason :(
Good game.
