BlixUnfortunately, BLiX is no longer available to play online. This review and walkthrough are left as an archive.

Next up is this great little puzzle game, BLiX, with stylish pixel graphics and addictive gameplay created by gameLab, of New York City.

Click the cells to create blocks that deflect the moving ball into the center cup. It looks easy and is simple enough to get started with, but quickly becomes a challenge to get it right. The trick is to find paths in the patterns that will direct the ball(s) to the goal. Time counts down via a ring around the play field that slowly closes in on the center. Once it reaches the goal, the game is over. For every 5 levels you complete you are given a password that allows you to start a new game at that level.

Add together flashy pixel graphics, a compelling techno soundtrack, and gameplay that is deceptively challenging, and you wind up with an excellent little Shockwave game called BLiX.

Good lord I'd forgotton all about this great game, I've spent hundreds of hours 'collecting' pass codes for the levels, always sure I could do better.

And I had work to do.

awesome game, i really like it, and i cannot believe the huge ammount of levels it has, i wanna beat it !!!

I found this a long while ago, maybe over 2-3 years or so (not completely sure when I first found it, just know it was around long before the date on this review). Still just as cool as when I first played, so I'm glad to see it here. :) As for the level count, you are looking at 300 for your playing pleasure (or frustration, take your pick.. some of the later ones are pretty darned challenging due to the stuff the designers will throw at you).

This game rocks my socks. It's really addicting.

Btw, this site is a bit too 'dark' for me. May I suggest a lighter layout?

This is to go directly to lvl 180!...

Wow, Shockwave really isn't very good on Mac OS X.

Can you provide a functioning link to this game? I can't find it anywhere anymore, is there a reason this game was taken off the internet?

The link functions getting to the game, but the game itself does not work. Once you finish the first level, the timer doesn't go off and winds all the way down and then do nothing after that

[Shockwave games don't run as smoothly these days in all browsers. I can say that the game does in fact work correctly (with the right configuration). Try updating to the latest version of the Shockwave plugin, and try a different browser if the one you're using still doesn't run the game correctly. I found the game virtually unplayable in Chrome (Mac OS) due to stuttering gameplay, but the game ran super creamy smooth in Safari. Your mileage may vary. -Jay]

There's a problem with that game. After every 5 levels I've complete. The password screen was blank and once I've finished all 300 levels from that game the screen was still blank and I don't know what to do. Are there any suggestions to make that game work with no blank screen from that game? What should I do to make that game fully work? Or could you fix that game for me so it won't happen again? Please let me know.

Up for Mark :)

That game has been removed from Shockwave.com and Gamelab. And now that game was no longer available to play it on Jayisgames website. Sadly. I feel like that I want to support that game and to play that game again. Does anybody want to support that game so that we could play that game again and to bring that game back? If so then who's agree with me.

Reply

Mark, it's because the game has been removed from Shockwave, we removed it here too.
It did not work anymore and I spent two hours for finding it elsewhere but the other 'BliX' games seem to have no links with this one.
Maybe it's the wish of the creators to not offer it after 10 years.

And now one of these totally unrelated games that happens to have the same name has mysteriously appeared here in place of my beloved BLiX. :(

Even worse, the "description" and "walkthrough" relate to the game that is no more, thereby ensnaring people who search the web for it. False advertising!

And a Google search for "shockwave.com blix" brings up nothing of relevance but dead links :(

Reply

Sorry you're disappointed, Stewart. It's not "false advertising", and we're certainly not trying to "ensnare" anyone. This review and the walkthrough were written back when they game was made available, and we were trying to upload different files we found to see if we could find the real game at the behest of the people who have contacted us. We just forgot to remove the links when we couldn't find the original file anywhere. I've since updated the article.
